Funjet Vacations foots the bill for passport renewal fee If you've been reading this column weekly, you'll know we've written about the new passport requirements a few times. If not, then you should know that all U.S. citizens returning to the States by air from Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean and Bermuda are now required to have a valid passport (entry by land or sea doesn't require a passport until early 2008).
Funjet Vacations is the latest company offering to pick up the passport renewal fee of up to $60.
To qualify, travelers will have to make a new charter or value flight air/hotel reservation with Funjet to Mexico, the Caribbean or Costa Rica (excluding St. Thomas, where a passport is not required) for travel within 60 days of Jan. 23, the date the new passport requirement went into effect; then complete a form and mail it to Funjet along with a copy of the passport receipt.
The form must be received within two weeks of return from your vacation. If the reservation qualifies, you'll receive a check within four weeks.
