  Dreams Macao!!!!

  Be sure to book Preferred Club...Our butler Domingo was excellent and very helpful. Dariana with UVC made sure all of our needs were met as well....The food is very good and variety is excellent....Go to the Preferred Club Breakfast and enjoy such professional service from Hotel, restaurant and rooms very clean. Grounds are beautiful and everyone so kind and helpful. AmStar transport to and from the airport was excellent ... and timely. See Edgar for booking at the spa...he is in front of the World Cafe...and ask for Marisol...and master artist in massage....Go see Yolanda and the Preferred CLub adult pool SO awesome and then Jesus...who is definitely service focused and we named him Speedy....There is so much more to share but you MUST go enjoy for yourself!

  A perfect place for a family vacation.

  My family of 11 just returned from the most amazing trip to Dreams Macao. With 5 children ages 4 and younger, this was the perfect place. The resort is so beautiful, from the pools to the beach. But it is the people that made it so special. I wish I could mention everyone, but that would take forever. But, Luz at the family preferred pool along with Rigoberto and Mayra were so amazing. They treated my family so special. Mr Mambo always entertaining the little ones. Rocia in the lobby bar making special drinks for the kids and adults. Thank you all. We can not wait to return.

  Bad experience

  We attended a wedding there with friends and family, and overall, we were all disappointed. We paid a high price compared to other hotels in the area, assuming the higher cost meant better service. Starting with the room: I moved the bed against the wall and found the floor incredibly dirty—that area clearly never gets cleaned. Then we went to the buffet and found no meat—plenty of vegetables and fruit, but no meat to be found, aside from some fajitas and tiny chicken drumsticks. At breakfast, both omelet stations ran out of eggs; I waited over 15 minutes and finally had to track down a manager just to get some eggs brought out. The drinks were of the lowest quality—only Presidente beer and cheap spirits. Customer service was terrible; the staff seemed to have no desire to work. Even when we tipped, I felt like they were doing us a huge favor. On our last day, we wanted lobster, but they tried to sell us just the tail for $49.99. Even in Paris, lobster doesn't cost that much. Diana and Tahiri treated us the best; they were really focused on making sure we enjoyed the entertainment, which was actually quite good. After the ceremony, we held a cocktail hour on the beach; before we had even left, a crowd of people swarmed the leftover food and devoured it—they looked like starving animals. I don't mind them not throwing the food away, but they shouldn't do it right in front of the guests. 90% of us went home sick. The problem with this hotel is the management; the employees only do what they are allowed to do. We do not recommend this hotel, and we will not be returning.

  Mid Stay Revir

  The sales presentation: We were told that if we skipped the sales presentation, our stay discounts would be removed. (We didn't have any, but we went along.) Two hours later, we were being pressured to buy into the Hyatt Unlimited Vacation Club. We said no to the first salesperson, then a second, then a third. Each time we declined, a new perk was suddenly added: a free week at any resort, 0% interest with 35% down, or extra weeks bumped from 5 to 15. Piling on incentives after each "no" is misleading, not honest selling. When we called it out, we were told, "We're just trying to make a living like you." I make my living by being upfront with customers, not by misleading them to close a sale. The food: I've visited resorts around the world for over two decades and have never seen staffing this poor. Restaurants are frequently closed, so it's hard to plan a meal. We ordered buffalo wings at dinner and received chopped chicken breast. When we asked, we were told that's all they had. Portofino was awful, and we waited 2.5 hours at the Japanese restaurant, the worst service I've ever experienced. Every restaurant I tried deserves 1 out of 5 stars, and management should seriously consider a new executive chef. The bright spot: Our butler, Tony, provided world-class service and deserves recognition. I have four more days here and will update this review after the rest of my stay.

  Disorganized Wedding Package & Horrible Experience

  The Dominican Republic has always felt like a second home, but this resort made our wedding feel like an impersonal assembly line. My partner and I chose this resort over familiar resorts such as Excellence or Majestic Mirage for our destination wedding based on raving reviews. Package & Service Failures: Coordinator: Disorganized planning from afar with weeks of no reply and deleted spreadsheets. Upon arrival, our butler didn’t know we were there for a wedding, interrupting our schedule for late meetings. (The coordinator was helpful on the actual wedding day, but pre-planning was exhausting.) Attire: Garments arrived a day late after repeated delays. Photography: Invasive photographer forced an unscheduled 15-minute shoot right after our recessional before we could celebrate with guests. Nearly a week post-departure, we’ve received zero photos or updates. Cake & Toast: Toast was staged for photos—we were given no chance to cheers guests or speak. Staff forgot our cake at dinner and handed us an unwrapped, frozen two-tier cake at checkout. When questioned, they stuffed it into a dirty, used utility box right as our ride pulled up. Romantic Dinner: Surrounded by begging stray dogs and swarmed by mosquitoes, leaving us covered in bites. Turndown: No "Just Married" banner. We decorated our room ourselves, only for housekeepers to tear it down, pile it on the nightstand, and pull back covers right before we returned post-ceremony. Amenities & Upgrades: Never offered/shown hydrotherapy. No room upgrade or late check-out offered despite a Monday wedding at an empty resort. Breakfast in Bed: Arrived 40 minutes late, cold, wrapped like basic room service. Guest & Property Issues: Active construction noise, clogged shower drains in multiple rooms, dangerous beach waves, and local beach vendors harassing guests. Staff were mostly unfriendly. Multiple guests reported uncleaned rooms, missing luggage items, and staff walking into rooms unannounced without cause. Stray animals roamed freely and severe bug infestations left guests swollen with dozens of bites. Running multiple weddings at once made it feel like a factory. The ceremony setup was visually beautiful with clear audio, but after reading so many glowing reviews prior to booking, I am deeply disappointed by the overwhelming lack of organization, rude staff, and complete failure to deliver on paid package inclusions. We will never return and strongly advise future couples to look elsewhere.
