Great Location and Great Staff
I've stayed at the Sheraton twice in the last year (Feb 2024 and Dec 2024). Both times, we had an outstanding vacation. It's true that you might find more recently renovated hotels on Maui but you won't find one with a better location or better staff. Anjelica Cocson, the pre-arrival manager, was super nice and outstanding in applying my elite benefits. At breakfast, Gavyn was one of the best servers I've had anywhere in the world. Highly recommend the Sheraton Maui.

Good Not Great
My husband had a work meeting at the hotel and I accompanied him for the trip. When we arrived we were told there were no rooms with king sized beds and they could give us a double and then we could move the next day. After some complaining they were able to find us a room with a king bed. (This is a big hotel and was def not at capacity). The layout of the hotel is sprawling and since some of it is built into the cliff, it can be difficult to find some things. There is a Starbucks in the lobby which serves until 10:30am. The open air lobby is a lovely place to have your morning coffee and a bite to eat while watching for whales in the distance. The pool area is a bit of an issue by noon. There do not seem to be enough lounge chair areas. There are several smaller areas with lounge chairs throughout the complex but the area in which they are is very narrow so there is really no room to move your lounge chair around or switch areas based on the sun/shade. The hotel's bracelet room keys are genius as you are not fumbling for a room key constantly.

Disappointing Experience with Noise, Amenities, and Safety Concerns
Our stay at the hotel was far from relaxing due to several issues: 1. Room Location and Noise: Our two rooms were located next to an elevator and two service closets, resulting in constant commotion and noise throughout the night. This disrupted our sleep and overall comfort. 2. Breakfast Ordering Setup: The process for ordering breakfast for take out was confusing and inconvenient. Guests were required to yell their orders through a small hole in a glass divider amidst a noisy environment. At $25 per dish, this setup felt unorganized and inappropriate for a hotel of this caliber. 3. Beach and Pool Amenities: On our only full day at the resort, all the umbrellas at the beach were rented out. It’s surprising that the hotel hasn’t invested in more umbrellas to accommodate guests. We were forced to rent a cabana for $240 since all pool chairs were also taken. While using the pool cabana, we encountered a group of aggressive teenagers who were not hotel guests. They disrupted the pool area by cussing and jumping off the bridge. More concerningly, they surrounded and harassed my 13-year-old daughter, demanding her phone number. 4. Security and Safety: When I approached security during this pool incident for assistance, it became apparent they had been observing the situation but failed to intervene until prompted. This lack of proactive action made us feel unsafe and unprotected as guests. Given these issues, our experience did not meet expectations, and I cannot recommend this hotel. Improvements in noise management, amenities, and guest safety are essential for future guests to feel comfortable and secure.

What an experience!
Amazing views, amazing staff! I felt pampered and valued as a guest there! There is so much to do on property, no reason to leave. The pools are awesome if you don't want to go to the beach but if you do, it is just a few steps from your room. We watched the cliffdiver but you can do it yourself if you want!

More pros than cons, but could definitely use improvement
Pros Gorgeous facility. Really loved ocean view room. Great bracelet room key. Staff was wonderful. Rosita in housekeeping deserves particular praise. Really great daily yoga classes with Romain Yoga. While initially I groaned at the 7:30 am start time, any later would have been too hot. Breakfast was great BUT Cons When we checked in, we were told continental breakfast was included, upgrade to hot options was $15. When we went to breakfast the next day, and every day after, breakfast upgrade was $19. They didn’t care that we had been told $15 at check-in. There was only ever one person at the check in desk for the first four days of our stay. So when our room key didn’t work, as always happens, we had to wait in line with people checking in to have our room key reset. We also waited in line two days before we checked out to request late check-out only to be told we couldn’t request late checkout until the day before. They couldn’t have just entered the request in the computer? Fortunately, finally there were two people at the desk the day before, and they took and honored our request for late checkout. Thank you. While housekeeping was excellent, there were dirty mops and rags left out for a couple of days. The logo’d water bottles were nice, but poorly designed; you have to remove the top completely to drink from the ridged edges. While the facility is gorgeous, it could use sprucing up. It looks a little tired. But it’s Hawaii! we were thrilled to be there. Thank you.
