  Can't wait to come back!

  The kids loved the pool! And we all loved Voyager 47. Every team member we encountered during our stay was helpful & happy. Elsa, who took care of our room went above and beyond our expectations. Thank you, Elsa! We enjoyed the live music, the hula, the gift shop, and the proximity to the airport. A hui hou.

  NOT THE EXPERIENCE WE PLANNED. Skip it.

  We reserved two rooms through ResortPass.com. We set this up for the last day of our trip, kind of as a landing pad while waiting for our redeye flight home and a place to clean up and get ready for the over night travel. We had an infant with us. This resort is a very nice place. The entry area is beautiful, with lots of common area seating, and beautiful views. The rooms were very nice resort style hotel rooms with air conditioning and two queenish sized beds. Checking in took a very long time. There was one person working the counter, and there were many people trying to check in. I waited in line for 20 minutes. This just seemed unnecessary. Once I got all checked in, getting wrist bands and towel cards, I went out to get my family. I tried to grab a luggage trolley, as I had luggage for 6 people to bring in. The bellman prohibited my from using the trolley. I get it, he wanted to haul my stuff for gratuity. After waiting so stinking long to check in I was not in the mood for such a strong arm play from the staff. We got settled, only to find out the restaurant is not open until 5pm. This was disappointing. We thought we would grab lunch and head out to the pools on property. Instead, we had to head off property to find lunch. We later found out that we could have ordered bar food for lunch, not that we would have chosen bar food for lunch, but this is an option, even the staff didn't make that clear. The ResortPass program gives you the use of the room until 5pm. You can extend in one hour increments, for a price of course. I decided to extend to 6pm since we had left to get food and wanted to spend some time in the pools and get cleaned up before heading to the airport. I called the front desk from the phone in the room to make this request. They indicated that it was all set up and that we could stay another hour. When we tried to get back into our rooms after spending time at the very nice pools, none of our room keys would work. I spent another 20 minutes in the same line to figure out why our room key/wrist bands weren't working. Apparently, when I extended, they should have explained that we needed to get new keys. This was not disclosed. So, instead of being able to spend time showering and getting ready for our travel, we were locked out of our rooms while we sorted out the key situation. This is the main reason for my poor rating. I spent more than $600 for privilege of NOT being able to clean up and prepare for my over night flight because we couldn't get into our rooms. The staff offered no resolution other than shrugged shoulders. This was very frustrating.

  Great people, place

  Spouse and I were here for work. Stayed 4 nights. For the price difference, reserved the club access King for an additional $14/night. Rate included valet parking, and exclusive access to "Club 47" area of the restaurant, with hot breakfast, evening pupu and drinks (no extra charge). All the staff were great especially Carlton and the crew at Club 47 and Elsa in Housekeeping. Although the rooms were "newly renovated," they didn't look any different than when I last stayed here in April, when renovations were still ongoing. However, the lobby, shop, bar and restaurant reno looks fantastic! Still some issues in the rooms with wear and tear from the salty seaspray (siding screen door sticks). Plus, high speed Wi-Fi for club access was not functional yet, not even low speed 😆. A hassle for work as my T-Mobile data plan was not connecting in the room either. Wi-Fi was available in most common areas. Plus, because some reno still happening, we had to walk outside to enter our building. Usually not a problem, but for 5 minute walk in the pouring rain. Overall great experience.

  Successful conference at Kauai Beach Resort

  We had our annual 2 day conference in the Jasmine Ballroom and it was wonderful! The banquet staff was so accommodating and helpful with all of our requests and needs through the weekend. Nelson, Eugene, Ron, Bryan, Ana, Jeff, and Chelsea all went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed for a successful event. Even last second things that came up through the days, they just rolled with it and made it work. The food was great and the chef customized the menu to fit our gluten-free and vegan guests. Anyone who has dietary restrictions knows how difficult this can be, but everyone enjoyed the meals. The guest rooms are cute and the pool is nice. Beautiful views from our rooms. Highly recommend hosting your events here at Outrigger KBR.

  Hawaii hospitality

  You can not go wrong staying at the Outrigger in Lihue. It is a great place for the value. The Outrigger staff understand hospitality. Our favorite, cheerful, and kind staff member is Elsa from housekeeping. Mahalo!
