Coconut Bay Delivered on Location, Beautiful Property, Great Food and Staff, but There's Some Things You Should Know
Atmosphere was always lively, and the entertainment and activities were fun. The Manager's Cocktail Party in the Lobby was fun and they give away great prizes. Rooms were spacious, clean and upgraded. The rain shower head was great, but it took a minute to get hot and the water pressure in the sink was low. The balcony provided views of the resort and the beach, and at sunrise it was peaceful and serene. Rooms were not soundproof and noise traveled from either guests in the halls or entertainment happening on the resort. The food was abundant, flavorful, and you never go hungry here. Snacks were readily available, including popcorn, nachos, hot dogs and soft drinks. I absolutely loved the Coconut Walk Market Place and this was my go-to for most meals. Shenika recognized us very early in our stay and would always give us a table by the windows to enjoy the breeze when there was one. I didn't have one bad meal while I was here. Jessica was so sweet and we would always get our ice cream with a smile. The Jerk Tree House was fast, tasty and the service was great, but not the most accessible location. There's a lot of stairs. The french fries at The Cove were so good and always cooked to perfection. The Veranda, which is for Harmony guests only, was easy to get to and provided outside dining with a nice view of the ocean, but one tip is that it's hot in August and there's birds flying around looking for food. I really enjoyed the 2 outdoor entertainment nights with the buffets and shows. The staff works hard setting up for these events and I appreciate the efforts. Shout out to the event staff who set up the themes each day. I really enjoyed that. I didn't dine at Silk or Calabash because those same cuisines are available in the Market Place during your stay. I did dine at Trattoria but wasn't overly impressed. The Italian night in the Market Place was much more enjoyable with a larger menu. Tari was the first face that we saw at the airport when we arrived and every time we saw him he greeted us with a smile. He was so personable, like a lot of the staff here, and I really feel like some of them care about the guest experience. We took two tours that we booked through the resort and thoroughly enjoyed both of them. They weren't inexpensive, but I always believe that you get what you pay for. Chango (aka Snoop Dog) and Kenson were informative with a great sense of humor and they both always ensured that we captured the most memorable moments on the tours. The Land and Sea Adventure took us to the most beautiful parts of the island the lunch was delicious! The Foam Party at the Harmony Pool was on the highlights of my week. That was a party!!!! As other people have mentioned, the unsupervised children here could make or break your experience. The amount of running through the resort, jumping into and swimming in the lazy river didn't make for a relaxing time. One area for a huge improvement is the departure. I've suggested that there be a queue for the airport shuttles to reduce tension regarding who arrived at what time. I think it would be improved if you were signed up when you check out and then called by room number to board, otherwise, it's just a large mass of people gathered in the front with no line and everyone just walks up, sometimes, going ahead of others even when they arrived first and were seated due to the inability to stand for long periods of time. Overall, I really enjoyed Coconut Bay and would return here with different expectations. I was here on business and had the opportunity to do a site inspection and see a lot of the resort that most guests don't get to experience. One was the Serenity at Coconut Bay. This is absolutely phenomenal for couples looking for luxury, privacy and butler service. Here, you can totally disconnect from the outside world.

Amazing summer trip
Wow what an amazing all inclusive trip. I would say this is the best all inclusive we have been to in the Caribbean. Everything we ate and drink was amazing. The kids enjoyed the slides. The pools are grounds are kept clean. Service was top.

3 star posing as a 5
I wanted to love Coconut Bay. I did a lot of research and I’ve wanted to give it a try for a long time. The reviews are stellar, it’s on a beautiful island, it’s got the making of an excellent all inclusive BUT it doesn’t live up the hype. For perspective, frequent family all inclusive traveller, mostly in Mexico with half a dozen visits to the Caribbean, including Beaches Turks and Negril. The bar was high but I wasn’t expecting the same experience as I paid less. The Caribbean resorts have always been lesser quality than Mexican resorts with Beaches Turks and Caicos the only exception. I do give Coconut Bay mostly high marks for food quality. I did though experience minor stomach issues. The service was good and staff usually friendly. The variety of food was excellent and an impressive amount of vegetarian items. I liked the self serve coffee option as the cafe was very slow. The self serve drink glasses at flip flops were always warm, dirty looking and almost always no ice was available. I loved that I was able to get a coconut at the cafe (wish I had discovered that before the last day). We were there the week before the seasonal closure. We understood our stay wouldn’t be impacted but by the second last day all the al la carte restaurants options like Veranda and dinner restaurants were closed. Our only option the last night for dinner was the outdoor buffet. We wouldn’t have picked that as it was a celebration day for us, the mosquitos were bad and the entertainment poor. The breakfast buffet was done at 10:00 which was early considering some of the activities like the morning walk/hikes got back well after 10. The hike up quarry hill was excellent and I recommend if you’re in good shape, it is a bit challenging. The walk to town was fun, thanks to Elzea! Yoga with Vernon was amazing, don’t miss it! We had a significant issue with our room which I won’t elaboraste on as they did resolve it professionally and quickly. It did result in us moving after the first night. While this was appreciated, it was an annoyance. There was also a cleanliness concern with a gross bathing suit liner stuck to the end table, eeeew which called into question how well the room was cleaned along with the other unfortunate issue we experienced. The couch was also of questionable cleanliness. Fortunately the beds were good and the bathroom spacious with room to hang clothes. Sometimes I felt when making requests at guest services and dining reservations I was requesting the impossible. Like how could what I requested be remotely possible like a reservation the next night or a beach cabana. I didn’t really appreciate being treated like my requests were ridiculous. The other guests were at times an issue, not the resorts fault but this type of resort attracted a crowd that could he heard drunk late at night in the ‘hallway’ (the resort is motel style) and let their kids run around unsupervised. Some people were watching videos loud/playing their own music on the shuttles. Like on a plane, no one wants to hear what you are listening to. And the seaweed, yes it is bad. Don’t go in the summer thinking maybe it won’t be. It’s really bad and the beach is unusable despite the constant efforts to clean it up. And watch for attacking birds on the adult only side. They don’t like to share the huts and loungers. Being able to go to Laborie beach was nice though they stuff you in a van like sardines. It was a fun outing and the beach is lovely. There are several pools and you could always find a lounger. Towels are readily available and no cards needed. The lazy river needs more tubes as the few they have were almost always in use. It seemed late in the week it was being drained too as the water was lower. The one adults only pool seemed murky (maybe something to do with that dirty foam party, oof). We did the Sunset cruise and ATV tour arranged by the resort. Both were good and it was nice to book tours through the resort and charge to the room. The excursion desk does get busy and the waits can be long to speak with someone to book. We booked the land and sea with captain jack on the beach. We probably should have just gone though the resort. It was a fun tour but a miserable rainy day which I don’t think was handled well by Lyndon’s. Our driver was also possibly under the influence. So I do recommend sticking with the resort tours. Watch for sales at the boutique store throughout the week, they have a good selection and some cute items. We only caught the market vendors one day and I guess because of the closure they weren’t there on the Saturday. It saved me money though I would have liked to grab a few last minute items. Coconut Bay has potential, but room for improvement. Paradise Beach would have been a gorgeous spot pre sargassum or in the winter months. The food rivals the best all inclusives. Vegetarians will be happy. The activities and entertainment are good. I’d avoid staying right up until seasonal closure. While less busy, there were impacts to our stay. As expressed by my family; I wouldn’t book this resort but if you’re already there, it’s ok.

Lasting memories
We had an amazing time at Coconut Bay, this was our 3rd trip to the resort. It definitely will not be our last! Elzea made our trip especially memorable. He was in charge of the daily activities. He had everyone participating in the pool volleyball, lazy river race, the lawn games, etc. His infectious laugh and energy kept us going. My daughter is already wanting to know if we can go back and keeps talking about what an amazing time she had. Thank you Coconut Bay for a wonderful stay and a special thank you to Elzea for the special and lasting memories that were made.

Excellent!!!
My stay at Coconut Bay was amazing. My family and I had a great time, food was great, the staffs were super friendly and courteous. I was very happy with my room, very clean and comfortable. Shakira welcomed us on our arrival, she answered all questions we had during our stay. She is a professional at what she does. Thanks Shakira, we will surely be back. Anyone who is looking to book Coconut Bay Resort as their family vacation, should book early and enjoy a piece of paradise. Please book early because the resort gets to its capacity quick. If you plan on traveling next year, you have to book as early as this year. Overall ratings from me and my family is 10/10.
