Surperb Service & friendliness!!!
The hotel staff was awesome!!! Kimberly was outstanding. She thought about what you needed prior to you asking. She went above and beyond to help us with information about the island. The hotel was good as well. The check in was easy. We stayed in a townhome. It's exactly like the pictures.

Above and Beyond 🩵
Amazing time! Miguel C. Was our server and made sure we had the best experience each time we dined. He had us laughing and recommended the best food. They really go above and beyond here at Mahogany Bay!! Everyone works together and has fun doing it!

Wonderful Staff
It is the staff that makes an experience memorable. We ate at the hotel restaurant many times and enjoyed the food very much. We had a waitress and waiter, Miguel and Kimberly that were outstanding. Kimberly helped me practice my Spanish every day. Our concierge was one of the best we have had and we travel all over the world. Alan the person that took us to and from our room had a smile and personality that made him worth his weight in gold. He was like the Energizer bunny running non-stop and it seemed he was there 24hrs a day! Even the painters, the grounds keepers, the housekeepers, greeted us with smiles!

Very disappointing Hotel experience
First let me say before reading all the downside noted below, that my wife and I loved Aubergis Caye and definitely plan on going back in a year or 2. Now for the review: My wife and I booked this hotel for a 4 day weekend trip. I chose it and spent a little more than I wanted to stay in this hotel. The main building where you check in is somewhat dated and showed a lot of signs of wear. I paid over $400 a night and had very few perks included in the cost. It is a good distance away from downtown San Pedro and there is no shuttle from the airport or water taxi port. You have to rent a golf cart or get a taxi when you go downtown to get something to eat. We rented a golf cart from the hotel for twice the cost of what we could have rented one downtown. This is not a traditional hotel or resort, They have rows of what looks to be prebuilt 1, 2, and 3 bedroom cottages that you stay in. They also have lots and houses for sale which may have been their priority over providing a quality experience for the guests. The cottages have air conditioning but do not have screen window instead of traditional glass windows. With the screen windows you can hear everything going on outside which included very loud people coming home from the bars after midnight and golf carts going by in the early morning and late at night. We stayed in a 1 bedroom cottage with a bathroom and shower. The room was very dated and had several broken items in the room. We found travel receipts from a previous occupant in the safe which made us question how well this was cleaned and checked for quality. The shower was rusted and one of the soap dispensers did not work. Talked to a couple of other guests and they said their rooms were in a similar state. You have to request housekeeping to come, have to call for ice in the room, and have to give them your dirty towels in order to get clean towels. Outside lighting was burnt out and we had to request maintenance to come change the bulb. We were there in what was supposed to be the high time of the island and we thought the hotel would be busy and have a lot of stuff to do. We had to pay extra for virtually every activity except for the private beach and swimming pool. There is no beach on site so you have to take a boat from their dock to the beach that left on the hour and closed at 5:15 so you can not stay and watch the sunset. The cost of food and drink is in us dollars and costs twice as much as the same fare you can get in town. We booked a fishing trip that left from their dock at 7 in the morning, but they did not have a restaurant that opened before 7 so we had to scramble to find something to eat before we got on the boat. As stated we thought it would be somewhat crowded and lively at the main house. In reality there did not seem to be many guests and the overall atmosphere was somewhat depressing. They did not go out of their way to plan any free activities for the guests while we were there. Additionally they had a separate bar called the dirty Martini which we passed several times and had no one but the bartender in it. We finally went in on Sunday night to watch the second half of the super bowl because the TV in our room kept dropping in and out due to the internet reception. We were the only ones in the bar and the young lady working there asked us how long the game would last and seemed to be upset that there would be another hour and a half until the game ended. She then proceeded to turn up the music in the bar to compete with the sound from the game, which was not on when we got there. It seemed to be an effort to run us out of the bar. The one positive thing I can say is that a majority of the staff was very nice and were trying to provide us great service. In conclusion, we talked to several other people staying on the island and they seemed to have great hotels for half of what we paid which were located downtown and within walking distance of the bars and restaurants. 2 in particular that had great feedback were Ramon's village and Pure Boutique cabanas. My suggestion would be, if you want activity, night life, and beach views, is to find someplace to stay within 5 minutes of down town and not to waste your money on Mahogany Bay. If you want to get away from everything you should consider staying in Caye Caulker which is on a nearby island.

A delightful stay on San Pedro
I had a fantastic stay at Mahogany Bay Resort! The atmosphere was beautiful, and the service was top-notch. Dining at The Veranda was a highlight—delicious food and a great ambiance. Our waitress, Kimberly, was especially wonderful—friendly, attentive, and made our meal even more enjoyable. Highly recommend!
