10/10 would recommend and go back again

Can’t say anything bad about the stay. Everything was on point, from the moment we checked in to the daily room cleaning service. From the drinks at the bar, swim up bar, the truck for snacks and the food at the buffet were excellent. The golf cart that goes around every minute to drive you around because the place is massive. It’s impressive how they maintained a big place like that.

    Disappointed

Well I am not sure where to start. When we arrived check in went smoothly. We went to our room, and to be honest it was bad. Full of mosquitoes, dark gloomy with a light that turned on and off, with a broken shade. We went for showers and I went in last. I was getting dry and said to my husband that it sounded like the shower had turned on. My husband went to turn it off and found water gushing through the ceiling. To cut a long story short we were moved to another room with a wet room that was better but not brilliant. We had to use the Punta Cana buffet which was better than the Bavaro, as it could be smelly. Breakfast was not too bad to be honest. I liked the omlets which were freshly made, and the fruit was nice. You could usually find something to eat. The speciality resturants were nice. The only trouble was most of our group of 17 had upset stomaches at some time or another during the week. The grounds are kept beautifully. The swimming pools are nice ,although my husband cut his leg on a jagged edge on a wall by a pool. The Beach is lovely, although there is seaweed, but you can't blame a hotel for that, as you can't blame them either for the mosquitos, but some of group did have a big problem with them, so you need to go well armed against them. Staff are generally helpful. One thing that has made me very angry is I bought what I thought was 2 small fridge magnets, that sell for 4 dollars each, and a pair of earings , and was told that I could have it for 20 dollars. When I got home I had the 2 magnets no earrings. Disgusting behaviour. Common con men come to mind. Why do the allow people that over charge any way to run shops within their hotel like this. This could be a lovely holiday resort if they worked on things.

TERRIBLE, DO NOT WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY!

This is a terrible resort. Food absolutely disgusting, slop served on chipped plates and when you order an omelette they practically throw them on your plate and hand. Not clean at all and maintenance of property not good. Pools filthy. Alcohol substandard. Service from staff awful, unless you are a local or Spanish speaking. Rooms not clean, towels stained and fridge barely cool. Would not recommend staying here, don't waste your money. May be listed as a 5 star resort ( not sure how) food, cleanliness and service anything but!

Poor room conditions and availability to solve problems

Beware of the cleanliness of the rooms, the smell coming from the rooms, especially for those with asthma, there should be information about this when booking. Improving the condition of the room in general is extremely important, as there were bugs in the room and one of the days it wasn't cleaned. Television did not work. The safe didn't work, nor did the hairdryer in the bathroom. Precarious conditions and no desire to resolve them. The room cards were always disconnecting. There was a situation at 2 a.m. when the card wouldn't work, and we had to go to the lobby three times that night because the system was down and they couldn't fix it. We were out of the apartment for an hour waiting for them to sort it out. Otherwise, the entertainment was very good, especially in the swimming pool, with the animator “Marmelada” being spectacular.

    DONT GO HERE

I'd like to make it clear that this goes for all Bahia Principe in the Punta Cana Region. Bahia Principe Grand Punta Cana, Grand Bavaro, Luxary Ambar, Turquesa, Aquamarine are all in the same property and advertised as different hotels. Since we arrived we received terrible service. the employees are rude and unapproachable. The welcome drink has to be asked for and not given upon arrival. ROOMS: Some of the rooms are outdated and dirty. Our bathroom was not cleaned properly as there was hair stuck on the shower wall. There was also water droplets coming from the ceiling above the toilet. What they DONT tell us is that the balcony door controls the AC. So if the balcony door is open in the slightest bit, the AC will not function as there is a sensor. When I called reception to ask about the AC's function they were rude and then asked about the balcony being open which it is was not. The curtain was blocking the sensor. Food: TERRIBLE, COLD, BLAND The buffet was awful. The entire room smelled like sewer water. If plates or a food option ran out, it was not replaced. If you asked staff to replace it they said they ran out and to get over it. The food did not have flavor and was always cold. Coffee was cold, fried food was cold. Everything was cold. Pool snack bar was awful, cold and disorganized. Maiko: doesn't have AC, the food was served cold INCLUDING FRIED FOOD, the service was not good, they dont take food allergies serious. Garden Grill: had amazing service and food HOWEVER at the end of the service, they ask for a review, many people gave 4-5 starts which goes towards the entire resort and not the restaurant itself which is misleading since the resort was 1 star. Capitán Melvin, Agustína, Francisco Sosa , Esmeralda , Mikol, Arcenides were all fabulous and very attentive! They were the most friendly, helpful, staff in the entire resort. Capriccio: was decent. the food was good but not great. The service was okay, again the food was never served hot. My daughter spilled water on the table. I apologized, asked 3 different times to have the table cloth changed, but they never did it, so we ate on top of piled napkins. The transportation was not good. They only stopped if they felt like it and were always bothered when you asked them for a ride. The pool was clean, the beach was beautiful, the view was beautiful, but the overall experience will be the reason I will not be going back. Save your money and just visit another island.
