  Disappointed

  The grounds were great, the staff was outstanding. Mario at the pool bar 2-20-25 through 2-27-25 was the absolute best performance, funny, happy entertaining and great service ! Our room key never worked more than once without having to go to the front desk to get it replaced, which happened daily for our entire stay. The food was (I’m sorry) terrible at the buffet and pool bar was better , but not great. The fish house was amazing however.

  Very nice time

  One of the nicest holidays my wife and I have had. The Melia resort is charming and comfortable and also a beautiful spot to relax with a really nice beach and amenities. Everyone is so nice, welcoming and helpful and the restuarants are well managed and the staff are amazing. The food was always fresh and excellent selections and the coffee hot and we always felt like we were well taken care of. The staff helped me alot as I have a gluten free diet so went above and beyond to make sure I had a nice meal to eat. The restuarant manager David was very good always happy to see us and never rushed always giving his time to make sure we had everything we needed. We even got to meet the sous chef Hector a few times who was also very kind and helped amke sure we had nice meals and his cooking was amazing. Juan was our waiter and he was always happy and smiling and he made us feel welcome and nothing was a bother and always made sure we had cold drinks and hot coffee. Our room was very comfortable and cleaned daily with everything restocked. The resort is very clean and they really try hard to make your stay nice. Thank you to evryone who helped us and sorry if I dont have all your names as evry one was great.

  Location Great But Needs Improvements

  Pros Nice view Room was kept cleaned (must ask for washcloths) Resort was clean Bed was comfortable Great location near marina Cons Lunch at buffet didn’t start til 1 pm Towels on all chairs with umbrellas on beach by 7am Almost all chairs around pool had towels saving them early(they would clip one towel long ways across two chairs) Pool bar didn’t open til 11 2. Pool Bars only had one server making drinks for everyone around pool plus those in line For the 2 weeks there no waiter ever came to take drink order on beach Employees not as friendly as most resorts Resort is short staffed Food at buffet was not good on weekends Need more restaurants No real benefits for Premium Only one brand of beer The saving of chairs was the main reason I would not return. I believe people were saving chairs by pool and beach. Not coming to beach til after lunch.

  Loved it so much we're planning our trip back

  We're already planning our trip for next year, if that's any indication of our stay here. We went as a family and met friends there, and it was perfect for us--the location, the amenities, the friendly staff, the availability of food and drinks, you name it. What we loved: - A smallish resort, which meant nothing ever felt crowded--making it such a great experience - The beach is close by and beautiful (this is not the Caribbean calm blue sea but the roughish Pacific--lots of great waves) - Staff were just superb--kind, helpful, attentive; from check in to check out to making sure we got our airport transfer, they made sure we were taken care of - The à la carte restaurants were usually available, you just have to be flexible with your time and remember people generally eat later here (also they serve almost TOO MUCH food, so go ahead and order one less plate if you're not famished) - Everything was kept clean and staff were constantly picking up, sweeping, etc. - The pool is welcoming and central, and a good balance of activities, suitable music for the time of day/crowd, and enough calm to read or nap - Easy access to the marina and a quick and affordable trip into town by bus, Uber, taxi What needed a little TLC but did not deter from our trip: - The beds are small and old, and the sheets and small blanket felt insufficient. Would prefer to have additional and better-fitting bedding for a more comfortable rest - The bathroom was clean and the water pressure was good (almost too good!), but a bulb needed changing (leaving a corner dark), the mirror is stained, and the space needs a bit of an upgrade - The buffet food was ample and fresh, but (as with most resorts catering to many people!) not nearly as tasty or seasoned as the food you can get at a simple taco stand in town If you can manage your expectations, this hotel is excellent value for money and we understand how people go back again and again.

  Had an amazing week at Melia!

  I went to Melia with a group of friends and had a blast! The service was so amazing! The staff working there are so friendly, caring and kind. Joel at the pool bar was so welcoming, fun and hard working. We always looked for him as a server! All the staff there worked very hard - maybe too hard - it seemed they needed more staff on hand at the buffet restaurant and for serving drinks near the pool/beach (we had to wait a bit for service at times but not for lack of trying by the staff, but this is more of a note to the management to hire for staff for those areas). The rooms were clean and comfortable, the food and drinks were great and the facility was beautiful! It was a max 10min drive to the airport, 20min drive into the city and walking distance to the marina. There wasn't a ton of nighttime entertainment (nowhere to dance at night) and the shows were just okay but that's not what I went for anyway. The live music nights in the lobby were very good though! I would go back to Melia for sure!
