Apr 22, 2025Bahia Principe!
My wife and kids stayed at the Bahia for spring break week. We had a nice time during our stay. The food was actually very good. I was pleasantly surprised. The service is a little slow. The restaurants were amazing. The French was very very good. The Steak restaurant was ok. The Japanese was very very good. The Italian was good. The service at the restaurants is better than the all you can eat buffet. The shows are amazing. The only thing is that they don’t have top shelf liquor at the pool bar. But I got by. The Luxury, which is the adult side, is awesome. The buffet is a couple of notches better both in food and service. The gym is also better at the adult side. We didn’t go to the Luxury side pool but it looked nicer. I guess with families and kids it’s not the same mess. Overall, it was much nicer and better than expected. We had a really nice entertaining and relaxing time.

**warning warning** be careful on the beach. We arrived and within 2 hours of arrival we were approached by a guy on the “security” protected beach who was pushing us to buy drugs- we said no, and then he would not leave us alone. I have a 10 and 14 year old and they witnessed all of this . We had to leave the beach as we felt pressured and uncomfortable. We reported this to security and management, and checked out of the hotel! We went somewhere else… now I am fighting the hotel for a refund for the rest of our stay… they said well if you booked through us directly we would have refunded you no problem - (but since we did Expedia) there is no guarantee.. well guess what… they denied Expedia to give us a refund (surprise surprise) I would rethink before booking a trip here, this is our second time to the island and they are so many better options that are family friendly.

Over the years we have been to Bahia Principe Grand 6 times. We find it is priced reasonably; it has a nice beach at the far end of the resort near the nude beach; the food is good at the buffet but unfortunately very hard to book a dinner reservation at any of the Ala Carte restaurants this time around. And if you do find room its usually after 9pm. What I find disturbing is when we would pass by these restaurants, they were always just half full??? We did have an issue with housekeeping this time around. Our room number was15208, on day two of our stay the safe did not open so I had to call front desk to open it and have it repaired and that was a 2hr wait for this to get done. Day 3 when we got back to our room around 5:30 pm the room was not done therefore no clean towels at all. We also had no toilet paper, so I picked up the phone to call front desk, but the phone did not work! I had to walk all the way to front desk to report these problems and they told me they would have someone attend these issues right away? Well, it took over 4hrs to get clean towels for our showers and one roll of toilet paper and 3 trips to the front desk and every time they would tell me that someone was on their way? Very frustrating to say the least. Oh and by the way, our room phone never worked again. They eventually told us there was something wrong with the phone lines at the resort? The resort is set to undergo a complete renovation in 2026 closing January 2026 till December 2026.

Staff are amazing
Went here on a friends/ couples vacation and it was perfect. The atmosphere, the staff, the food, the bars, the beach everything. The main factor that made my trio was definitely the staff. Andre was incredibly kind and helpful, crazy legs(kemar) was the best entertainment and so so nice, Garfield was very friendly from the moment we stepped off the bus and made sure to say hi anytime that we saw him. Also the gentlemen who worked at the towels on the adult side were so kind and talkative. Aswell I need to mention the yoga/pilates instructor Jason was a great instructor and so kind and helpful and Terron who was our server at the lunch buffet & Jasmin restaurant, he always remembered us when we came in and made sure we were taken care of. All in all, I really enjoyed my time and will definitely be back to Jamaica.

10/10 Holiday!
Our trip was as a couple to celebrate a 40th Birthday. We arrived to a birthday banner on our hotel room door, with champagne, chocolates & flower petals on the bed with a note from our house maid - this was a beautiful touch. We ate at 3 restaurants during our stay: the Japanese, The Knife & the Asian (Takara) - all which were delicious! The entertainment team were fantastic especially the Bob Marley Show & Mowtown show! The beach stretches from the grand to the adults only side so always plenty of beds available. Our favourite spot was at the grand side all the way to the very end by the beach bar & jerk chicken hut. We having nothing negative to say about stay & will definitely be back for a family holiday with our children in 2027 when the hotel re-opens after its refurb. Thank you to all the staff for a superb holiday.
