May 09, 2025Overall Very Good Resort!
Just returned from a 6 night stay with my husband. We really can't understand the negative reviews as we had a very pleasant experience overall. The staff was more than accommodating, friendly and seemed just Happy! The grounds are beautiful with lots of pretty little birds feeding on the vast variety of foliage around the resort. Food was good, not great, but good. Many Many options at the breakfast buffet. My only negative comment would be the wines that are served as part of the all inclusive - not my favorite, but other guests seemed to enjoy the wine. We would definitely return to the Verandah!

Recently returned from a wonderful family holiday at the Verandah Resort - 6 adults in total. Resort was beautiful, very well maintained. Staff were lovely, courteous and always cheerful and willing to help. The restaurants were all very good. The buffet served a good breakfast with plenty of choice and the evening buffets were varied and food was nice. It's a shame you can't see out the high windows in the buffet room as the views would be spectacular. Sails and Tales and the Italian restaurant were both lovely with a good selection of different food. We liked the Grill at the Rasta beach for a pleasant, relaxed lunch - Theodore the waiter was great! A nice alternative was the beach BBQ one evening - huge effort by staff to provide a great selection of food in a lovely beach setting. There's a good selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks (including beer brewed on the property) and coffee in cafe 1761 was good. We booked 1 Waterfront and 2 Waterview suites. All were very well maintained, comfortable beds and gorgeous views. We were close to the restaurants and main beach but took the readily available golf buggies to the other beach, grill and sports facilities. Tristan one of the drivers was great, good fun, very informative and so cheerful. Watersports were good - instructors were very helpful. We enjoyed a pickleball lesson and the mini golf. We also enjoyed a day at the sister resort Pineapple Beach Club which offered some variety in beach activities. Beaches were lovely, we didn't see any seaweed at all. Pools were very nice, lovely quiet pool beside the Rasta beach with waterbeds. Overall an excellent week's stay that we loved and would certainly go again.

My husband and I had such high hopes in Visiting Antigua and staying at the Verandah all inclusive resort. HUGE let down. I will list our take aways below * Our Room was not filthy but not to the standards of a 4 start resort. The walls looked as though a child did the drywall and gave a bad impression . The room was spacious but lacked so much . * The buffet was horrible not only unappetizing but the floor and walls of buffet took my appetite. I have never been to a carribean island and not been in love with the fresh fruit until this . *Staff was rude and non engaging. Not just one or 2 people but the overall staff was not welcoming. * Limited times to eat and not many selections , the best food was Roccos Pizza and we did not travel this far to get full on Pizza. * low quality liquor selection, no tropical drinks, the attitude of bartenders not what we were use to . This resort lacked so much of the basics that most all inclusive, adult only resorts offer that they should just shut down. I will say the General Manager tried their best by putting us in a better room, however there was just too much lacking to complete our vacation and ended up leaving 2 days early. Not sure how it ranks as a 4 star.

Wonderful Vacation
Beautiful venue and main pool area was fabulous. Weather wasn’t great but still had a good time. Rooms were spacious and clean. Sails and Tales restaurant was the best. Nicole’s not worth the extra money. A special shout out to Lassandra the bartender at the main pool. Such a great personality and made our trip so much better. She also makes terrific drinks. Always has a smile on her face and a big asset to Verandah. Tristan, the shuttle driver was also great and very accommodating.

An enjoyable experience;
Wonderful experience at the Verandah Resort; staff are very courteous and responsive; entertainment was good; variety of food and drink was good; well-maintained rooms and grounds. Tremendous effort by the grounds staff to clear Sargassum Seaweed from the beaches. Good if you want some quiet time. I enjoyed the 1761 cafe. Layout is good and encourages walking (smiley face). Occasionally the wait-time for the shuttle seemed long but we were advised that the average was 15 - 20 minutes. Didn't have a chance to explore the outdoor games but it looked like fun. Added bonus that some food is grown on the property as well as brewing a light beer/ale and a malt stout. Don't know if there's a tour through these areas but it's great that they do it. Overall, a very good experience.
