Excellent
Wonderful hotel, fantastic staff, food and facilities. Would go back again. We moved from the Riu Republica and I am so glad we did. This hotel was in a different league, far superior, just brilliant.

One of the best resorts we’ve been to
Loved this resort, so many great things. They have great wifi and an app, that you can order room service, repairs and extra bedding and very prompt service. Check in and check out was very quick and our room was ready. Food was amazing, buffet was mostly hot and a great variety. Staff was abundant and pleasant and worked hard. Everything was clean and well kept. Absolutely no complaints!

Another relaxing stay
We stayed at the Adults only resort RIU Palace Macao (Nov to Dec 2024). This resort was fully renovated. Our room was located on the 2nd floor, it was nice & clean. We had two beds which we found comfortable. There is a ceiling fan above the bed which we enjoyed. The patio door curtains are opaque. On our balcony, we had 2 chairs a small table & a small drying rack. The balconies have a cement wall (approx. 6.5 feet high) on each side that prevents you from looking or being seen by your neighbours. Our maid service was excellent. We always had our fridge (beers, 475 ml soft drinks & 1.5 L water bottles) & bathroom towels/items... replenished when needed. There is also 4 bottles of different alcohol types (Gin, whiskey, Rum & Vodka) with a measuring dispenser. In the washroom you have a spacious walk-in shower with the option of a rain forest flow or hand held shower head. There are two sinks. In the closet, there are many wood hangers (approx. 22). There is a free digital safe. Wi-Fi is free in your room and on the resort (until the beginning of the beach area), we had no issues. The food was very good at all the locations we ate: Buffet (main building for breakfast, lunch & dinner). The buffet style restaurant has a wide variety of meats, fish, pastas, cold cuts, breads, cheeses, salads, sushi’s, fresh fruits/vegetables, jams, Nutella, peanut butter, ice cream, yogurts, many deserts, condiments, syrups, etc...). The food & service at the four À la Carte restaurants (No reservation needed) was very good. The menus at the A la carte restaurants were revised/changed and we welcomed/appreciated the food now offered. For a little extra sweet (deserts), go to the Cappuccino Café. You can obtain many different pastries and different flavoured coffees/Teas. The service at all the bars was excellent. The 3 pools were kept clean. All public washrooms we used were kept clean. For the beautiful large beach area you have plenty of lounge chairs scattered between the many palm trees (no palapas). There are always available lounge chairs. There is an interlock pathway (approx. 150 feet from the ocean) connecting the 4 beachfront RIU hotels (Palace Punta Cana, Bambu, Palace Macao & Palace Bavaro). The location of the Riu Palace Macao is ideal for beach walkers. You can walk either way (East/West) for very long distances. We found the Beach amazing, white sand and nice blueish/green ocean water. For the gym & Spa services there is a new spa/gym building across the main lobby. Everything is very nice & new. The guests were mostly from USA, Canada & Europe. This hotel is quiet, no loud music/noise at night. The average age of the guests is approx. 55+ years. The hard working hotel personnel (mostly All the same as before the renovations) are ALL wonderful, friendly & give you an excellent service with a smile from your check-in to your check-out. My spouse and I will definitely return to the RIU Palace Macao resort as we had another very relaxing vacation at this small Adult only resort.

Great resort
Transit, Back at home, got the DR tourist website thing but nobody checked in US side nor in the immigration after landed. Airport transfer, DAT is excellent and have used them for many years On the way back, they do check the immigration ticket before they let you check in. General There is no transportation between each resort and seems like guests are expected to stay within their own resort even though Macao guests can eat at other resorts (not sure about the other way around) Entertainment staff George, Carlos, idauyi, eliezer, day, Willy, Jeffery , David , Oni, Keila all great! Tons of activities throughout the day and some are even overlapping and have to choose to which one to go to. We have been to many all inclusive resorts and this resort have a lot more entertainment staff on duty than the rest. Lots of pingpong tables everywhere throughout all the resorts Grounds Well kept and They are constantly being cleaned. Show, The first night here they have circo show which is an acrobats show. Very good. The nightly shows are identical and rotate between each resort. There is a small area where the entertainment staff asked people to dance. Meals Had buffet in "El patio" for lunch and dinner. Lunch we sat outside and the humidity is really high and warm. Stay inside during dinner. Buffet has a lot of variety. All a la cart restaurants are first come first serve unless you pay for the club upgrade. Kulinarium, Service is excellent. Fish fritter, Octopus, sweet potato soup, grilled steak, grouper, chocolate, pineapple The restaurants are almost identical in all the resorts which is kinda surprising. We tried the buffet in bambu and it is just not as good as the one in Macao. Definitely stay in the restaurants in Macao. Room The room is very new and modern with all the USB and USB c plugs for your electronics. The sound proofing is really done well and we can barely hear outside even though we are right next to the main stage. AC and hot water all work well and no problems there. However, the size seems to be on the smaller side when comparing to other resorts. Gym Each resort has a gym and size varies and the biggest one is next to the spa next to Macao. There are lots of equipments but The stretching area is still rather small. Riu party For young people, this is absolutely the best pool party. Loud music pool party and pool is only waist deep. Lots of alcohol and finger food. Beach This time of the year there is no seaweed and the beach is the prettiest of the season. During the late spring(April/May), the beach front feels shortened somehow and more crowded. Overall this trip has been good except we probably overstayed this time for being here for three weeks, especially the food became very repetitive.
