Do not do it. Don’t waste your money. HORRIBLE
Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. I can’t say it enough. The food is disgusting, inedible. They should be embarrassed and ashamed. The service doesn’t even make up for anything, many of the workers are visibly unhappy, not apologetic or pleasant and I would be too if I had to work here! I felt like I was a nuisance anytime I asked for simple things - a coffee, water, etc. (coffee by the way is powdered. Nothing fresh here that’s for sure). The front desk was not helpful cheery or willing to accommodate at all. I watched another guest simply ask for a map of the resort and the front desk receptionist could be of any help or guidance. Everything is a rule here - you can’t make reservations until you check in, but reservations are made only 8-5. And if you don’t have a reservation, they won’t let you eat at the restaurant (even though it’s half empty!)! You can’t only make 3 reservations in advance so eventually you’re always screwed out of days and forced to eat at the vile buffet. Although, it seems to be the same food at the buffet and restaurants, it’s all frozen disgusting. So plan to spend your money at restaurants even though you’ve paid for an all-inclusive experience. There aren’t nearly enough chairs by the pool for the amount of people staying here. Other guests were getting up at 4 or 5am to throw their flip flops on chairs to “reserve” them and then proceed to not even ever be at their chairs…. It’s absurd. Who gets up at 4am on their vacation to reserve some pool chairs? Not me!! They have a strict 1 pool towel policy, you literally have to give a card in exchange for a towel and your room number. I’ve never been to a resort like this. The small things suck too - the shampoo and conditioner and shower gel smell vile. The air conditioner doesn’t adjust temperature. If I could give it 0 stars I would. I would have much rather stayed somewhere else and spent a little bit more to have a true, relaxing vacation. As I was packing up I realized my Bose noise cancelling headphones are gone. I used them the first night and thought they were sitting in my tote bag. They have mysteriously gone missing. Called down to the front desk and inquired about lost and found and they said “do you think someone stole them?” I told them I do not know, they said they are calling security to come up to the room…no one ever came up to the room. So now I’m just left with this icky feeling like someone took my headphones! They didn’t walk off on their own. I work hard for my money and it feels like I just threw my money away in this trip and didn’t even get the bare minimum. Extremely disappointing. Don’t make the mistake of booking here. Go elsewhere, you’ll thank me.

A week at wonderful Barcelo Aruba
A week at wonderful Barcelo Aruba. Everything was great: location, food, drinks, and staff.... Rodell for my birthday dinner, Francisca for breakfast & lunch, Jazon for dinner at Kyoto, Victor & Omar at the pool bar, the list goes on and on....you won't be disappointed! Oh, we did the Chef's Dinner and it was over the top!

Barcelona resort
The food in the palm restaurant was excellent. Fray as our server was truly wonderful! The staff were friendly snd the grounds exquisite. The ocean a deep turquoise and the palm trees adding shade added to the serene feel of our holiday. Hate to leave paradise.

Older property Beach /Pool seating you line up at 5:30am & U have to PAY to rent umbrellas
The good: Beach access and location The not so good: You have to get in line at 5:30am to get a chair at the pool or beach. Umbrellas cost $38 a day to rent on the beach; first come first served or rent and pay cash in advance for the week. To us, this was beyond ridiculous! WHo wants to get up at 5am on vacation? The other stuff:Check in took over an hour and air conditioner so loud and old, it interrupted our sleep. We did the all inclusive-BIG Mistake. My husband lost weight, because the food was terrible. Food was cafeteria quality at best, dry/overcooked and bland. restaurant reservations were 3 for each week of stay. Food was better than regular restaurant but not by much.
