Friendly and accommodating staff
Our experience at Secrets in Cozumel was overall amazing. Our initial room had issues with the mini fridge not working and mold-scent. The concierge immediately found 2 other room options and let us decide which one we wanted. Within the hour, the newly selected room was clean, prepped and ready for us. We had a lovely dinner at Oceana during that time. Amazingly accommodating staff. Resort is slightly dated, but that didn’t change the great experience we had. We would go back.

Service and staff were welcoming and friendly, always ready to help. I was worried about the resort not being so great based on reviews I had read prior to going. I've never been to a resort and have nothing to compare it to. So with that, I absolutely enjoyed everything and would definitely go back. If I had to pick something to be picky about, I would say the dinner menus do not have many options, however, the food was decent. My favorite was Gohan. It was very easy to schedule excursions and to get a taxi to go into town. The pools were all great, and the ones with swim up bars were even better (also served food to you in the pool). The pool by the beach had water aerobics every day with pool volleyball afterwards. This was fun.

Review of my wonderful stay June 7-14th. This was our second stay at this Secrets. We’ve been to other Secrets, Dreams and many All Inclusive resorts. We know this Secrets is subpar to others and know this when booking. The price is awesome for us and I feel you get a lot for the money. Yes, it is a great value. We will continue to come back. Is it perfect? No. Is it flashy and new? No. Does it need some updating? Yes. Are the rooms clean? Yes. Does the staff provide excellent service? Yes. Does the staff aim to please? Yes! One reason we choose Secrets because it is Adults only. I enjoy being at the pool and beach without kids running around, yelling and splashing you in the pool. I especially enjoy eating in a restaurant without whiny kids and babies screaming. We are scuba divers and this resort is PERFECT for divers. There is a pier on site where any dive operator in Cozumel can pick you up. Literally, the pier is only steps from our room. This is an extraordinary benefit for divers or folks wanting to do snorkeling or fishing excursions. We were in a Preferred Pool view category, room 411. Last stay we were in 311 (same category). I love that we could sit on our terrace and still see the ocean even though its categorized pool view. I love being ground floor too. The room has not been renovated in years. Decor and furnishings could use an update but I enjoy the huge 750 sq ft. room and the double vanity bathroom which is very nice with a large walkin shower and separate toilet closet. Room was super clean. Housekeeping was excellent . Anything we asked for they brought it. (Pillow, face cloths, working scale, etc.) Anything particular we wanted in the mini bar they gladly provided. You just have to ask. There was not one issue with our room. Large TV with lots of channels and English speaking options. A/C was awesome. No leaks. Plenty of hot water. No smell whatsoever. Everything in working order. We loved our room. It must’ve been low season because we never had a problem getting a lounger any time of day. Plenty of towels. We were always seated quickly for meals. The pools were very well maintained. Swim up bars always staffed. Lots of pool waiters and beach waiters continuously checking on you. Activity pool is fun. Preferred pool laid back. Three pools overlook the ocean which I love (4th pool in back does not). The food was very disappointing this trip but it will not keep us from coming back. The meat was extremely overcooked and tough. Chicken, beef, pork and fish were very dry. I tried it all. I enjoyed the hamburgers. We enjoy room service for breakfast. It is a huge amenity that room service is included and not an additional charge like most AI resorts. Plus it is 24 hours. It worked perfect for us to have breakfast room service before our early morning dives each day. The location of the resort is on the most beautiful beach in Cozumel. Most rooms are very close to the water or very short walk. Some rooms literally step onto the beach! You do not get this with newer resorts. The beach is level which allows a comfortable lounge experience on the beach. Our stay was wonderful with the exception of food. Thankfully we had a rental car and went to town for some dinners. We will be back!!

Hibachi Carlos - the best!
We stayed at Secrets Aura Cozumel and want to give special recognition to our hibachi server and entertainer, Carlos. He was a fantastic chef and showman who has many talents and treated us so special.
