I would go again but not pay upgrade and not use nexus tours
This was a lovely resort. The beach was huge and fabulous. Food was good for an all inclusive. No long waits for dinner. We had a swim up room which was very spacious and comfortable. Only problem with this room was the pool was not heated and was very cold. I only got in it once so definitely wasn’t worth the upgraded price. We upgraded to the Preferred club section which really wasn’t worth it either. There was no bar. There was beer and sparkling wine but you could get that anywhere. There was a club section on the beach, but you still had to go out very early to get a seat and there was a very little bar service there. We took a tour through Nexus tours to Isla Mujeres. The sales person Erick up sold me to include a beach club experience where we would have a beach chair with umbrella and an upgraded lunch. There were only four umbrellas for about 30 people so of course we didn’t have an umbrella chair and the lunch was extremely basic. Their fabulous desserts they advertised were Jell-O and rice pudding. I told Erick at Nexus tours what happened but they wouldn’t refund any money so basically they lie and it’s a scam so I’m not happy with Majestic elegance hotel for having Nexus tours in their hotel and I won’t use Nexus tours again. Also the room smelled very musty but that happens a lot in Mexico.

Eh - I’ve had better
The entire trip had about two positives: which were Diana and Alondra in Kids Club. They were absolutely wonderful. My husband and I have a 6 year old and she had so much fun anytime she was there. Food - typical resort food. Breakfast typically had the best food/options. Our room - the first night we got here I discovered our TV remote was broken, it took 3 phone calls to get a new one and I had to walk the broken remote up to guest services because they weren’t answering. Meanwhile, it kept playing the same thing over & over but couldn’t turn it off without the remote. The tub drain was broken, as well as the lights above the end tables. The resort is marketed as family friendly but other than Kids Club it seems to be a big party resort. There are two sides to the resort, “The Club” for 18+ and then the family friendly side. If you stay on the club side you’re given a tour of the resort & you have a butler the entire stay. Family friendly side - left to your own devices. The map they give out needs updated with the days the restaurants are open. The pool water was FREEZING.

Best experience
One of the nicest resorts we have ever been to. The staff, grounds, pools, beach, food and drinks - all excellent. Our check in experience with Yamil was superb. Cauich and Angel - at the beach - made our experience the best ever. Thanks again Cauich for making my birthday so special. Michelle, our Butler/concierge was so helpful with reservations and decorating our bedroom for my Birthday. Ask for Orlando at the Italian if you want excellent service. Will definitely be returning.

Excellente
This was our second visit. We visited in April 2023. Stayed for 2 weeks this time in Adult section Found food and variety very good in all restaurants. Strongly recommend making reservations early for French and Japanese restaurants. Dress codes are very relaxed. We had room with plunge pool and swim up. Room was beautiful and everything was very clean in and out. Housekeeping was amazing. Our butler was Chan again who took care of anything we needed. Special Thanks to my “Amigos” at lobby bar. Carlos, Antonio, Salas, and Erik for their service and laughter. A special shout-out to our swim up bar host Claudio for our conversations and excellent service. Workers are all very friendly and smiling. Majestic Mexico and Punta Cana the best. My only question is why would people bring babies to a resort?

Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres- Review
We travelled as a family this December to Costa Mujeres for a wedding. Here are some of the highs and lows of the resort. Cleanliness- 5/5- The resort was well maintained and clean. The rooms were very clean as well. Rooms- 5/5- The rooms are very spacious and beautiful. They are equipped with a Conair steamer and blow dryer which came in handy forsure. Food- 4/5-The food at the buffets was generally good, with plenty of variety. The Italian restaurant was our least favourite. The Mar House (seafood) Mexican and SteakHouse was good. The hibachi show at the Japanese restaurant was great- Ricardo did a good job- even accommodating us by making plain shrimp for the kids in our group. Service- 3.5/5- The service was just okay. At times, in the buffets and certain restaurants, the waiters and hostesses were rude, and unaccommodating. Our experience at the Mar House with Yuli ( the hostess) was unpleasant as she was unwilling to accommodate 11 people saying the maximum was 10 per table. She was unwilling to accommodate us and was so rude about it. The service at the Mar house was not good as it took over an hour to get our food. The maid service was fantastic and bar service by pool and beach was expectational. Ronaldo at the swim up bar was amazing and served us each day with a bright smile. Entertainment- 4/5- The entire entertainment staff was so kind, welcoming and professional. Angie, and Oliver in particular always talking to us, updating us on events and really took the time to get to know the people. I just think there is some room for improvement. I wish there was more activities by the main party pool- there was simply not enough and at times, it seemed like the entertainment team rushed them. I wish they played more games and with more enthusiasm ( not just one a day). At the white party, Angie did an amazing DJ set! I wish they kept the party going by having everyone dance on the dance floor. The Mexican night was so cool too, but i wish they did a party where we can dance and stay out late. After 10pm, everything is done- which is boring at times. They have the potential to get people drinking and dancing at these parties! Also, we were looking so forward to the silent disco night they had planned but at last minute they cancelled it. It would have been fun to participate in that- so we were abit disappointed. Kids Zone- 5/5-The kids in our group had a blast with all that the kids zone offered. Diana and Angie were so great with the kids, they entertained the kids with different activities each day ( ceramic painting, bracelet making, tie-dye shirts). The kids had a blast! Overall, we had a wonderful time! We will definitely miss it!
