    Great holiday and service

Fantastic holiday. Edilberto at the embarcadero (beach) bar was great. Very friendly, attentive and helpful. He was going beyond to prepare whatever drink you wanted. The whole family was there all the time. Always happy and willing to provide the best service.

    Melia is mediocre

Its not that its a terrible facility, it just seems like it was somewhat modernized and given a skeleton crew. Only a few staffers speak english so be prepared. The"LEVEL" they claim is an upgrade to VIP status of sorts is a gimmick- their level"lounge" is actually a small pavillion where guests sit at desks ro check-in (few kids acting up when i was in there) and hardly a "snack bar" and cocktail bar, more of a self serve beverage cart. We were told the Bistro restaurant was for Level members- we get there and its an ourdoor deck you would see in a small backyard; quite disapointing. The Level private beach alledgedly gives Level members 1st priority for cabanas- yeah unless theres more guests than cabanas. Oh and the 2 resort pools are freezing cold-unheated. Food is just okay, but mexican restaurant is good ambience and excellent service. The Fish House (not all seafood) is a nice enclosed hut over a secluded pond- best feature of "Level". Taco stand was closed every day due to rain or threat of rain, which was lame , and their theater is lame. Buffet food a 6 on a 10 scale with omelette station being the best part. I would not stay here unless youre on a large fam reunion or have several kids with you, as it is not a hi-end resort but rather simple. Level has conceirge, and in our case Santiaho was very helpful and understanding; good hard-working person.
