May 18, 2025Just okay, won't return
I travelled with my husband and 3 year old. I'll start with the main negatives and these really did impact our holiday. Firstly unless you are willing to get up at 5:50/6:00 every morning you won't get sun loungers and if you do the likelihood is they won't have parasols. In all my years of travelling I've never seen so little parasols available considering how hot and sunny Mexico is! Secondly the beach was unusable during our stay. I have heard some positive reviews that the seaweed was cleared for some people but it was terrible. It was so deep and spread so far with lots of flies over it. This meant our holiday was limited to the pools. There are positives of course, the price you pay for what you get is value for money in my opinion (if the beach was usable!) we requested and paid for a particular room and we got it in building - 9308. Minor points like a couple of power cuts but when reported on the app the repair man was there in record time! They really do try and go above and beyond in that respect. Most staff are friendly and helpful but one/two of the pool bar staff really let the team down by being grumpy and making you feel like an inconvenience. Food at the buffet was brilliant, the ala carte... Not so much. Just the Carribbean was great. We had a 'good' holiday and made the best of it. Definitely not somewhere to return to. The whole place is shutting in August for a much needed renovation!

May 18, 2025Worst all-inclusive, avoid at all costs
Terrible experience, staff is not accommodating. Every restaurant requires reservations. Continues to push use of an app, didn’t come on vacation to be on my phone all the time. Constantly tries to sell you things while you’re at the pool and walking around the resort.

My stay
This hotel is fantastic. The good choices are plenteous. The staff are so friendly. I am a man who enjoys to keep my fitness routine consistent and the gym here at Royalton was well and truly accommodating for just that. The gym was spacious and well equipped, it really is levels above the standard hotel gym. The fitness team are also a great asset to the hotel, Gorge(who I must say resembles “the rock”) Edgar and Luis are the guys I mainly see there and they are great, helpful and enthusiastic when it comes to fitness, even offering me access to wraps when endeavouring to do a heavy deadlift. The aforementioned fitness team also hosted a 500m race in the sand with a few obstacles and pavement also, this had a great turnout & as a 3rd place winner I was able to win a prize to coco bongo 🙌🏾. The race also had Gorge leading the warmup and Edgar leading the meditation session. These events are fantastic and a wonderful way to engage hotel guests. I’d be remiss not to mention Sergio in the teens club , as he is doing a fantastic job in there & that place is definitely a gem. A great way to wind down by playing some pool or foosball or table tennis. Addy from the spa team is always smiling , which is great to see. Vicente also helped us with all our enquiries pertaining to our stay as hideaway guests.
