Very pleasant stay
Had a 5 night stay, travelled from the UK. Had booked through British Airways holidays and added transfers to the package. As we had a preferred club room, on arrival at reception we were taken through to the preferred club lounge where separate staff were there for preferred guests, and checked us in there. Then we were taken via buggy to our block. This was all pretty seamless. We had a junior king suite with sea view. The room was decent size, as was the balcony which included a tub (easily big enough for 2..). We were in block 6 which was at the far end and slightly at an angle to the beach, overlooking the wedding area. This was absolutely fine. The fridge was stocked with soft drinks, and some beers. There was also a complimentary bottle of vodka, although according to the preferred club details we got on arrival, this could be changed for rum or gin. We did ask on day 2 for this to be changed but it wasn't, not that we were really bothered as we drank at the restaurants and bars anyway. The room was very clean and had the standard amenities. The pool areas were good. The larger pool was busy but there was always space around at the time we visited. On the first day we had a couple of drinks from the swim up bar, and chilled on the beach, which on that day had very little sea grass on the shore. We used the preferred / adults pool on the last day which was more peaceful, and an attendant constantly going around taking drinks orders. My understanding is you could pre order one of the balinese beds the previous day with the pool staff, and you just needed to lay a towel down by 0900 the next morning to ensure it was yours for the day. At the main pool there was a charge for the beds. We ate at a few of the different options. First night, the Mexican restaurant. The food was very good, and we shared a bottle of white wine which was very acceptable. One note here, it was hard to actually find the restaurant.. there were signs for the world buffet, Mexican and Italian restaurant, but when we walked down there was no sign of the Mexican.. on asking inside the buffet, to get to the Mexican you had to walk through the buffet restaurant seating area then find the Mexican at the end. We went to the French one on the 3rd night at around 9pm, this was a mistake as the reception area (shared with the asian) was rammed with people waiting on tables, or complaining it was taking so long. You can turn up and get a buzzer to take away, but it all seemed a bit disorganised. We went the next night instead at 6pm (when it opens) and got straight in. The food was really good though and had a nice bottle of red. I feel it would be good if the hotel could sort out some sort of pre booking system as the restaurant reception areas just seemed a bit stressful at times.. On our last night, we wanted to try the asian. We turned up knowing we would have to wait for a table, got our buzzer then headed to the preferred club lounge for some drinks while we waited. After an hour the buzzer went off, so we headed to the restaurant. We were told that there wasn't any tables in the standard restaurant, BUT.... we could be put at one of the teppenyaki tables and be part of one of the "shows" with a set menu without any charge (usually extra), so we agreed and joined others sat around the table. This was actually a really good experience and the food was great! On the documentation, it stated that preferred guests could have breakfast at the French restaurant, but in reality it was at the new blue water grill. The food and service there was really good, and you are sat outside either overlooking the beach or under the roof. Sitting next to the beach was really nice but obv beware that if the sun is shining you'll need sunscreen while there, not something you might usually think about when going for breakfast. For lunch there was also the barefoot grill by the main pool, where you could order burgers / some other things, also various things out to help yourself too. I often made my own tacos with what was available, plus salad. The grill was moved inside the main area during bad weather. The world buffet is always available throughout the main meal times for all guests. We had lunch there once, it was fine. If you are preferred club, then the lounge has hot buffet options for breakfast, plus various bits for lunch and rest of the day. The bar in the centre seemed to have more premium drinks options (Havana club no7, malt whisky, drambuie, more tequilas etc) and when having a rum and coke, you definitely knew there was rum in it! The cocktails around the pools seemed pretty weak but that meant you could drink more of them without the worry of having too much too quick :). The lounge was also a good place to chill at any time, or while waiting for a table at a restaurant. We didn't attend any of the entertainment, purely because we didn't plan around it so can't comment on any of that. We were there as hurricane Helene was developing close by, so had two days of breezy rain, and we witnessed the entertainment staff interacting with the guests so they were actively trying to do things. I even got a text message from the hotel advising of the potential hurricane situation. We organised a day out ourselves (I use Viator), which was one one of the catamaran trips departing from just north of Cancun town. This included snorkelling just offshore, then continue to Isla Mujeres with food and drinks on board and a couple of hours on the island. We looked at various different trip options but some had a lot of negative reviews, so chose the one that is done with Cancun Adventures. Will write separate review of that, but it was a great day out and prob worth the extra money over some of the cheaper trips. There are various companies staff at the hotel to organise excursions / transfers if required. Overall, we were very happy with our stay at Dreams Sapphire and would happily go again. We were on more of a couple chill out break so didn't need to do much interaction with the staff, other than at the restaurants and bars, but everyone was very pleasant. Ideally a longer stay would have been better with one or two more excursions, but we definitely felt relaxed, even with an early stage hurricane passing by!

Amazing Service and Lots of Fun
Overall experience was great. The Facility was amazing with a huge pool and nice section of beach. We had an amazing time. The Staff is very kind and friendly and I truly enjoy going to Dreams Resorts. I would go back again anytime and have told many people about our experience already.

Not the Same place as before
Having the great service, assistance and friendliness of Vicente, Gabrielle, Felix, Eduardo, Eloy , and Victor were the only highlights of our trip this year, had it not been for their friendliness and exceptional service we would be very hesitant of returning. The food quality and choice has greatly improved at the buffet which was a huge plus, especially when the wait was long for the other restaurants, the remodel of Blue Water grill has it feeling cramped and it took away the charm of the ocean view and breeze . The rooms were extremely clean and room service has improved . There are an abundance of new service workers who are still learning the job, but doing a good job , Overall it was a good vacation, just wasn’t the quality of what we had gotten use to over the years from the Sapphire

Worst Resort Ever
I would have gave 0 stars if I had an option. Terrible experience. The staff have no manners The hospitality is awful If you do not speak Spanish there is no point in coming here. Rooms leak, room doors do not lock, the staff are extremely rude. The people at the front are rude. The bathrooms are dirty The bar will limit your drinks and tell you they are sold out of liquor. Extremely racist. There isn’t enough variety of food. Entertainment sucks! Barely any meat only pork.

Mid range, nothing special.
We flew on a BA holiday, we arrived straight into hurricane Helene. We reserved a sea view junior suite with preferred access. To be fair to the hotel, given we were in the midst of a hurricane, they kept everything going throughout the day and evening, I cant fault that. The hotel is mostly aimed towards South Ameircans, Americans and then lastly Europeans. Quite a lot of staff speak every little English but you can get by. The good: - hotel offers a decent variety of restaurants, so you have a lot of options. - some of the evening entertainment is good (pirate show, Mexican traditional are good). - beach bar is great. - air con in the preferred lounge is great. - coffee shop is the only place to get a decent coffee. - the staff at the adult pool are very tentative. - cleanliness is good overall. - Good quality is good, recommend the grill restaurant. Negatives - magic show is absolutely horrendous almost comical at how bad it is. - quite often I have seen the glasses not washed throughly between customers, rinsed with some water and that is a concern, quite disgusting when you think about it. - room cleaning is hit and miss if they turn up. - replacement of drinsk in the mini bar is hit and miss. - we reported someone doing weed in the room below us, one as the smell was goinh into my room and 2 you sign a waiver saying no drugs. The hotel did not really care, thr smell is horrendous. - the air con in the restaurant is limited and thr humidity has been 100%. - service in restaurant can be extremely slow, painfully slow. Other points - preferred access, other than air con there is not a huge amount of difference. The pool is adults only and anyone can go. - the drinks options are mostly the same across all bars, some slight difference. (Don't go for thr baileys, it was definitely not baileys). - there is no real exclusive parts other than the lounge to the preferred room On arrival they will offer you ab upgrade to a higher level of preferred room, !$150 q night extra , apparently that is worth it for the roof top bars and infinity pool. - mad rush for sun beds, by the time yoy go to breakfast at 0900, they are all gone. The adult pool has more, the beach is quiet This is certainly a mid range hote nothing crazily special and nothing too bsd (other than the glass washing, l and not one that we would return back to.
