Great
With the new renovations and only getting the use of one pool , and quite the walk to the beach totally walkable but probably not with small kids , or wait for the trolley, the place is beautiful I’ve been three times , but I’ll now book Tulum same resort different section of the grounds nicer pools and kid’s area, closer to the beach , I’m not putting Coba down as I’ve been three times great time meet some great people every time , but now I’ll book Tulum and if you can, so should you , you’ll thank me , ps their staff are great all over the resort great people

Staff and entertainment
Entertainment wasn’t the best very boring, one of the worst one. Also staff looking for people from US, prepare you need to tip staff 3 time a day breakfast, lunch dinner otherwise they will ignore you, hotel nice and clean enough. Avoid shop with jewellery offering free ride to beach nearby.

Amazing 11th stay
This was our 11th stay at Coba and we had an amazing time. Upon arrival we did have an issue at checkin with the service which was very usual a we`ve never had issues before, however, it was resolved and after that, no other issues. The other staff were excellent as always. Our waiter for dinner, Alfredo is awesome...you have to sit in his section. Also on the entertainment team, Antonio, Ronaldo and Damien kept us busy and they are so kind. We did the gourmet and the Gran Tortuga....always delicious. We are already looking forward to our 12th stay next year. If you`re thinking of going.....book it, you won`t be disapointed.

Coba Hotel Mexico
Great family holiday. But areas in need of improvement -icecream needs to be available in more locations, not just restaurants or snack bar, didn't get why no drink station in kids area. Snacks would be nice around the pool. Other AI have nuts, crisps at the bar Renovation work happening at Coba, slightly disappointing that restaurants etc not open. Serving guests their AI drinks in large sippy cups, didn't care for this. Guests becoming drunk, loud and irritating. Good points. Staff are amazing, happy, friendly and work so hard to give everyone a fantastic time. All through the resort, Mexicans are such beautiful people. Everywhere is extremely well kept. Entertainment was great too We got to explore other hotels in the chain, great facilities

Think twice before coming during renovations
Here now with spouse we use mobility scooters to access the resort. We are staying in Coba with black wristbands which gives us access to all the other resorts. The issue is they blocked off a very large portion of the pathway. So as most know mobility scooters run on a battery. For us to get from our room to any location it’s 1/2 mile now since the renovations and blocking the pathways. So we asked about moving to Akumal well for a $50 per night per person we can. Problem being we are here 13 nights. It’s not even close to being in our budget. So here we are confident to our room for the most part. Had we known this we definitely wouldn’t have booked this resort. This is our 3rd visit between Coba and Akumal. It’s a beautiful place and we can’t wait to see and experience the new section. The staff are still amazing, although it seems to be under staffed, rooms are kept clean, food good at the restaurants that remained open. We like the quiet pool and of course that’s the one that they shut down. So for us this isn’t by far a great place to be during renovations. We are very disappointed. And would recommend everyone to weigh your options before booking here during renovations. They are just beginning and I would bet things will get worse before better.
