  Great experience. Will be back.

  Great Family Resort, something for everyone! Loved the atmosphere. Great food in the main buffet and restaurants. Nice beach area. Clean pools, swim up bar, kids pool and waterpark. Nice wildlife. Good transport, and services available. Everything you need for a nice holiday.

  Relaxing , Warm, Comfortable don't listen to the Haters

  Our family stayed in Villa 18 , location was perfect to everything, pool, restaurants and evening entertainment. Our room was very clean and was kept clean the whole duration of our stay. Air condition was so awesome to come back to after our daily outings. This resort is a very large resort so if you don't like big this is not the place for you. There are trolleys to help get you from A to B. The food was okay but there is a tip and maybe if we were not rookies we would have not been so disappointed but when we tried to get reservations at the A LA CARTES we were not so lucky only getting 2 of 6 as we had two rooms. Apparently our travel agency failed to tell us that we could reserve our A LA CARTES 11 days before arriving. How ever the food in the buffet was good and plenty full. Unlike other reviews the staff had us seated and served with drinks with no issues. Entertainment in the evening was good. We took in the Karaoke each night it was offered. 80's show was good as well. Magic show okay. Took a Trolley to some shops where the prices are absolutely crazy high. Beach was a little bit of a disappointment but it was nice and cooled us off. It is a very shallow beach perfect for kids. There were many different fish to see. Lots of seating. The only issue was that you had to take a trolley to get there. Not a big issue but make sure not to forget anything in your room. There is a small bar that you can get drinks from but you are not able to use the Akumal Luxury facility unless you pay $20 US dollars per person per day. Something the travel agency failed to say. It was actually told to us that the Coba property allowed you to use 3 other resorts NOT TRUE. Our family did two excursions and it was worth it for both. We did the Tulum and boat ride. Make sure you negotiate price because they are flexible. There is as most of you know who travel a time where they will seek you out and ask if you would mind taking part in a tour and then they try and sell you on buying into the Bahia Properties. Giving you X amount of weeks for X amount of years. With some perks. By giving your time they reward you with a gift and they do tell you that even if you don't purchase anything the gift is still yours to have. The best gift is bracelets to access the Akumal. It was not offered to us but we were offered the Spa $160 US currency or $160 at the gift shop. Not knowing about the Bracelets we took the shop. Here is the thing her didn't tell us but claimed he didn't know. You can purchase anything on sale or promotion, no cigars and the biggest thing you have to spend all the money in one shot. If you do decide that you would like to do this look for lluvea. So as for being disappointed with the property I can not say we were. Disappointed with the Travel agency yes because there were a lot of I forgot or I did when she didn't tell us. 1) You need to pay to use other resorts and you can only use one 2) You need to pay $75 when you arrive at the resort 3) You can reserve the A LA Carte 11 days before arriving 4) Left the resort 6.5 hours before our flight so we were not late at the airport 5) 400 rooms being renovated maybe they didn't know one pool closed ( less people so kind of good)

  The worst

  Who did they pay to lie and say this is a 5 star . I’d give it a 2 and only because the staff is great . Everything else is bad Including the sewage smell from the buffet all week On a positive note you won’t gain weight from the walking since there aren’t enough trolleys and the food is either overcooked or possibly still alive

  Save your money and go elsewhere

  Fire Luis the manager at the front and hire a new one, he was terrible with customer service and the issue I was having with my room. He didn’t even apologize which is totally rude and unacceptable. The service everywhere I went seemed to be terrible, anytime we went to eat I had to ask about three times for a high chair and half the time I would just end up getting one myself because no one was assisting with one and by that time my food would be already cold. It would take sometimes 15-20 to get asked if I would like a drink. Bars would take 30 mins to get a drink. My room was never cleaned good, I have photos to show that they was black slipped all over the ledge of the back of the tub and it was like that for the rest of the time I was there, it was never cleaned. Along with the shower glass never cleaned. The only thing that was done in my room was the bed. I have travelled many times before and this has been by far the worst resort I have been too. I won’t even post the location on my social media because I would never recommend this resort to anyone. It is very upsetting because I have been to the Bahía Príncipe in Dominican Republic and it was wonderful there. If I had known I would have picked another place to travel too. I paid a lot and it definitely was not worth it! I will be leaving reviews everywhere so people don’t have their trip ruined like mine.

  Run Down and dirty!

  Our stay was from April 21-28 , room # 31016 and 31014. I would advise you to think twice before going. This resort is just to dirty and run down. We stayed at many places in Mexico, and this is defiantly the worst. 1) The absolutely worst housekeeping ,I even tipped well just to encourage them to do a better job cleaning, but that didn't really help. 2) Nothing for kids to do in the evening that arcade is a JOKE!! 4 arcade games in a tiny room. The Barcelo resort is just down the road ( stayed there in 2023) great for kids, bowling alley and lots games and entertainment for kids. The sports bar Well that's what they call it. Wanted to watch the Hockey playoffs games could not get the sound so we had to listen to Michael Jackson and Madonna's music. Sad were Canadians we want to here the Game! The waitress in the sports bar Ophelia sure has an attitude given us dirty looks because we requested to here the game. The al crate restaurant's are book solid walk buy them and they are half empty. We were only able to eat at the Japanese restaurant. The icing on the cake was the cockroach and the filthy seats at the buffet restaurant. Well i do have to say that most of the employees are nice and very welcoming. They are doing renovations, so im thinking in a few years, it will be nice.
