Overall good resort...with a few improvements necessary.
We are a retired Canadian couple from Ontario in our early 60s, and stayed at the Sunscape Coco from January 15th to the 22nd o 2026. We have travelled South at least once a year since the mid 90s to the DR, Cuba, and/or Mexico...so at least 30 all inclusive experiences. I rate the overall resort, room, food, etc a solid 7 out of 10. It is an overall good value...and could be, with a few minor improvements from management, an even better value. Check in was fine...and we REALLY liked that no bracelet was required. Our room was 11111 (LOL) easy to remember, ground floor building 11 room 111 looked out over a long narrow pool between buildings. The pool needed an entry ladder on the building 11 side. Our room itself was tired, and really really needed new furniture with a renovation, was on the small side when it came to the bathroom. Generally good storage. Room safe worked well. Not a fan of the king foam beds, but that very much depends on the individual, lovely pillows. We needed to request the hot water to be turned on. Bathroom counter space is limited, and there is a lack of wall and door hooks to hang damp towels and bathing suits. The shower tends to flood a bit, but good water pressure and we never ran out of hot water. I did a quick repair on the toilet...as it tended to run. NOTE for management...use a copper or SS chain for the toilet tank...the rubber ones get hard and cause the toilet to run and waste HUGE amounts of water. Room fridge was alway well stocked, we received additional towels on request. Room needs additional lighting. Room Wifi was excellent, A/C and ceiling fan were excellent. FOOD. Overall very good...but most hot food at WINDOWS needs to be much hotter...or if cold...much colder. Good selection and quality. Getting coffee for breakfast in a timely manner can be a chore. I don't understand why ORANGE JUICE was never available...every other type of juice is. I suggest that ALL new tables have THREE legs to prevent them from wobbling constantly...an easy permant fix for uneven floors. Ceramic plates, glassware and ceramic coffee mugs would be a very good way to vastly improve the dining experience. Plastic is too institutional and cheapens the experience. There were line ups for grilling stations at busy times eg. eggs...but they moved quickly. The a la carte dining was decent...but a bit on the slow side. The red wine at these were decent...as were mixed drinks overall. The main pool was fun and as active as you wanted it to be. The main pool seems to be filtering only at night....and by mid day getting quite dirty and a bit gross. Start filtering again mid AM, and keep the pool cleaner please. Music at the main pool repeated FAR TOO MUCH daily...to the point of knowing what song was next on the playlist. Not a fan of two to three hours of country music every single day. A bit is fine.jStrongly suggest pool DJ rotates from traditional DR song to a classic Rock/Pop song from the 60s to 90s with hits with an upbeat tempo. Strongly suggest that about 20% more lounger are added...not easy to find one if you don't reserve VERY VERY early.

Was good but not recommend for persons with mobility issues or wheelchair users.
Sunscapes , We are here now. Drive from airport was quick. Greeted by a lovely lady with non alcoholic beverages, very refreshing after a long day. Check in was hectic. Our party had booked in Oct with request to all be close proximity as spouse is disabled and the extra hands are helpful. Unfortunately we are spread all over, and no accommodating apon request, Making holiday more difficult, as well as placing a disabled person in wheelchair at far point of resort. Building 15 very far from amenities. . I would not recommend this resort for persons with disabilities as not accommodating and due to the size. There is no wheelchair access to beach or anywhere for persons with disabilities to enjoy comfortably unfortunately. Our server in main buffet was so very friendly and always made a point to come over to say hello. I forgot his name but will hopefully be able to edit when I find out. Food was good but line ups were very long as resort is large. This is obviously our first experience at this resort. It would be great for families as many pools and slides for them to enjoy. We will not personally return, but I would recommend to able bodied persons. Thank you .

Not worth it
Entertainment and housekeeping staff were amazing — 10/10. Honestly, they were the highlight of the entire stay and deserve huge credit for their energy, friendliness, and hard work. That said, the rest of the experience was pretty mixed: The Wi-Fi is terrible, which affected a lot more than just scrolling, music and entertainment would constantly get cut because the internet kept going out. On top of that, there were daily power outages, which is not something you want to deal with on vacation. Be prepared for long lines for everything: food, drinks, services and the resort feels way too crowded for the amenities available. If you’re not up early, forget it: there are no pool or beach chairs available after 7am. Food was okay but nothing special. The buffet had very little variety and got repetitive fast. The Italian restaurant was honestly terrible, but the Mexican and Amazonian restaurants were pretty good and definitely the better dining options on site. The Sun Club is absolutely not worth it. You can access the other pools anyway, and the regular buffet is actually better than the Sun Club one, so save your money. The room itself had issues, especially the beds and pillows, which smelled like mildew. Also worth noting: there’s no disco, which was surprising for an all-inclusive resort that markets entertainment. Final verdict: amazing housekeeping and entertainment staff but overcrowding, poor Wi-Fi, power outages, and underwhelming food really hold this place back. With better management and fewer guests, it could be much better but as it stands, expectations should be kept low.

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana
We recently spent two weeks at this resort January 6 to January 20. Upon arrival, we upgraded to a Sunclub room in Building 1. It was much cheaper booking directly with hotel than through Sunwing. Benefits of the Sun Club better superior room in Buildings 1 and 2. Room service was amazing at no charge and delivered in a timely fashion. Kaleidoscope restaurant was exclusive to Sun Club members but we noticed this was not the case. The hotel has no wristbands to identify non Sun club members or Sun club members. Buildings 1 and 2 were once adults only, this is no longer the case. Sun club private pools were not private. Everybody had access to these pools. This is not right, we paid for this privilege but it wasn’t private. The Sun club rooms were large, clean, very comfortable beds with great pillows. Jacuzzi tub was open to the bedroom. Large double shower with great water pressure and always hot. Toilets were behind an etched glass door. Lots of closet space but no dressers to store clothes. Could use more shelves. We had two nights with no AC and on the 3rd night we changed rooms down because they couldn’t fix the AC. We were not too happy about that. For the most part, the restaurants both buffet and a la carte were very good. The problem with the A La Carte restaurants was the waiting. Although, tables were available, they did not have enough staff to accommodate all the tables. They run a no reservation policy except for the Teppanyaki restaurants. Service and staff were cordial and friendly. Coco cafe … the best coffee ever. Always, line ups but worth the wait. The Beach was a big disappointment . Sargasssum seaweed was present the entire two weeks. You could not enter the ocean. Apparently, this was very off for this time of the year. As in most all inclusive resorts, lounge chairs on the beach and around pools were at a premium. It was necessary to reserve the lounge chairs by 7:00am in the morning with beach towels. Something has to change with this policy. Nightly entertainment and the Animation team were excellent. Plenty of activities whether it be aqua gym, bingo, games, dance lessons were always available. Spa is definitely worth a visit. Sun club members get 25% off. Even without any services, it’s worth spending the entire day to use sauna, steam room, cold plunge, hot tub, Bali beds, and private pool for $20.00 p.p. but free with massage services. They were excellent. Main pool is loud and busy all the time. Lots of chairs but always occupied. This is a very busy resort not for those looking for a quiet holiday. Great for families with children. We would return if there was an Adults Only area. Apparently, this is in the process of expanding.

Nice resort with some hiccups....
A larger resort that is well maintained and grounds kept clean. Some staff are not very friendly. Service was good except a la cartes- there were no reservations and had to wait a long time to be seated with no communication from the hostess who were rude and not friendly. Our room card/key did not work at least 6 times and it was a long walk to check in area to get it reprogrammed and we would have to wait in line ups. Our shower drain over flowed and we had to be persistent to get a new room. Check in took over sn hour at 1:30AM!! We had booked 3 rooms close together and they did not know this at check in and had took a long time to figure it out of how we could all be in same building. Nice air conditioned rooms and clean. Maids were nice. Beach has some seaweed but is quite nice. Lots of people asking to do excursions and do bug you quite a bit on the beach. Al la Carte food is great. Buffet is average. Lots of pools and some smaller quiet ones are available - just have to walk around to find them. Overall I would go again.
