Kind, hard working people making our stay a DREAM

Hundreds of things my sister and I love about this place, but the most loved for us is the staff! They are such a lovely human beings! We can't thank them enough for making our stay a memorable one. I was here teaching yoga (yes, I taught yoga here for the week) and the entertainment team was so communicative, helpful and made sure I had everything I need so the guests could enjoy their morning yoga on the beach! This place is a little secret gem that people need to know about. It's just under 2 hrs from the Cancun airport but the view on the beach is worth it! Oh! Brunch everyday was by far my favorite! so much to choose from for the Carnivore, vegan, pexcitarian, gluten free or any diet! While my sister and I unplug on trips, the WIFI was great when my sister had to answer a work call and help them out via zoom. SHe managed to have TEAM meeting via phone and internet without any troubles. The spa was amazing! We both got relaxing massages that helped with the tired, achy feeling from being on a plane. We've been to may Dreams resorts and one of my simple joys and is grabbing a cortado (or 2) at coco cafe. The staff work tirelessly to ensure guests have the optimal experience. We truly had a very pleasant stay at the resort. Sending love to all of you from Cincinnati! Note* my sister and I have been to 8 different resorts within the last 3 years. Never once did we pay to get professional photos but the photography team here captured moments that my sister and I couldn't with out phone. We bought photos and you can't beat the quality of prices for cherished moments like the ones they captured!

    We Weren't Ready to Leave!

Went with 2 other couples and we had a great time! First, pre-book your transportation to/from the resort, but just know it's going to be expensive because the new Tulum airport is a bit remote. (Still closer than flying into Cancun) We paid $137 to get from the airport to the resort and then $200 to get back to the airport. We should have pre-booked and probably saved $100 or more. Food: a great vacation calls for great food, and Dreams does not disappoint. We went to the World Cafe daily for breakfast and it was always very good. It can get crowded if you wait, so go early and you'll breeze right through. I have never seen such variety! The have something for even your pickiest eater. Lunch was the same, lots of variety, or you can try one of the other cafes that are open. They also have a poolside hamburger stand for a quick lunch without having to leave the fun. Dinners were excellent as well. We went to the Mexican and Italian restaurants twice, and the French place only once (but only because we ran out of days). Never had a bad meal. I have to say, the fried cheese at The Patio has forever changed my idea of 'cheese sticks' and I will be trying to recreate that at home. Staff: everyone was super friendly. When you're walking around the resort and pass a staff member they look you in the eye and greet you. The bartenders, concierge, bell captains, wait staff.....everyone was so nice and welcoming. Grounds/Accomodations: the grounds are beautiful and worth the time to stroll around and take it all in. The rooms are large and the beds were comfortable. Some furnishings did look a little worn and due for replacement, but that absolutely did nothing to negatively impact our stay. The hammock on the balcony was a nice touch! What we would change: we would pick a room a little closer to the dining and beach area. We were in the furthest building back and it took several minutes to walk back to the room. We would also consider the swim-out rooms because nobody was ever in that pool. It would be like having a private pool to yourself. I also wish the resort would consider ways to differentiate the buildings as it took several days to figure out the best route to take back to our building since they all look the same. Final thing: when we checked out I didn't realize my wife had placed her rings in the room safe so I removed our cash and passports and we left. We realized it about the time we got back to our home airport. We called the resort and the housekeeper had already turned the rings in at the front desk. That speaks volumes to me about the beautiful people of Mexico. The resort was also very helpful and assisted us with getting them shipped back. Overall, this is a resort we would visit again because of the great staff, beautiful location, wonderful good, and overall value for the money.

    A very relaxing vacation

The resort itself shows age and really needs updating and repairs, and the layout isn't ideal, with the guest rooms laid out in a line rather than in a C shape, which means that some guests have a LONG walk to the restaurants, pool, and finally, the beach. We were fortunate to have a room near the aforementioned 3, but not a swim-out, which we prefer. We met a family with a room in the last building who had a swim- out but they lamented how long of a walk they had to the amenities. The spa is nice; not at all comparable to Secrets Maroma Beach, but decent. The hydrotherapy circuit is basic. No cold water bucket for use before or between the sauna and steamroom. The sauna is too hot. When I went, I barely made it to 5 minutes. My friend went a second time 2 days later (I couldn't bear to try again) and she said that she was given a wet washcloth to cover her mouth and that helped. We weren't offered that the first time. The 80 minute hot stone massage is wonderful; Nancy did a great job. Pastora did a great HydraCalm facial. The showers and shower products are great. The dinners at El Patio, Bordeaux, and Portofino were memorable in the best way, but SKIP Gohan. The sushi is awful. But what's really made this a great vacation is the STAFF. From Alejandro and Gabriela at the Seaside Grille, to Laura at the pool and beach, and Benito ("Benito Mojito" as he refers to himself) and Salvador serving up the beverages on the Preferred section of the beach, and Jonathan, our super-friendly and personable concierge who went over and beyond for us. THEY are who make Dreams Tulum special!

STAFF ROBBED US $800 cash while we were at dinner

Your staff robbed my wallet in my room last night and stole $800 USD when they went into my room while we were at dinner ‼️this happened the first night of our vacation, and now our vacation is ruined. We are hard working NURSES who got robbed from our room while we were not there! They came in to bring us more water, found my wallet and took all the cash in it while we were at dinner. Despicable, look to stay elsewhere. Still haven’t heard anything back from management about it. I will no longer ever recommend this chain of hotels. On top of that, our server at the patio last night was super rude and must have had every table in the restaurant. They either gave us tap water or don’t wash their hands because I’ve been vomiting and running to the bathroom constantly since our arrival. If they make the ROBBERY right, I will update this review. So far, silence. Absolutely insane. We also had two HUGE cockroaches in our room, which staff just said “sorry”..
