    Amazing Experience!!!

We just got back from Coconut Bay and we are already planning another trip back!!! I wanted to take a moment to post a review based on our experience. We travelled as a family of 4 with two little ones (5 & 7 years old). This has been one of my favourite all inclusive resorts ever!!! The staff is absolutely phenomenal. Always so kind, respectful and will go above and beyond to ensure your experience is an unforgettable one! The resort is very clean and well taken care of. We had zero issues in our room with water pressure or AC. The food was just amazing. To be honest it exceeded my expectations. I've been to Sandals and for me it was at the same caliber. The Asian a la carte restaurant, Silk, is a MUST! Other than that we are at the buffet every night! They have a variety of yummy options to choose from which change every night. During the day for lunch my husband and I ate at Jerk treeshouse daily as it was too good!! And the kids were loving the hamburgers and wood oven pizzas at flip flops! The shows at night were just okay for us. They did a good job, however, compared to some other resorts I've been to this was the only area I'd say was a bit lacking. That being said, the nightly live music by the lobby was where we'd go! From 8 - 9:30 pm every night they'd have a different band / singers and they would get the guests up on the dance floor! Western night on Tuesdays was a lot of fun!! Oh and the foam party at the pool on Fridays was also awesome!! For excursions, our family booked a private excursion through Jack Sparrow who we met on the beach. He allowed us to customize our tour based on what we wanted to see. And his driver, Jimmy, was the best! My son gets car sick and as the roads there are very windy. I was a bit worried about the drive, but Jack assured me they would alter their driving and our driver, Jimmy did just that!! He was so awesome and gave us so much history on the island. He was our personal photographer for the day too!! (We did the drive through volcano, mud baths and 2 waterfalls with some pit stops along the way for pictures of the pitons and more). If you are a beach person, you may be a little disappointed. The resort is on the Atlantic side so we knew what to expect. The water is not your typical blue Caribbean water; it's a darker blue, it is also more rough with more waves, and it's a darker brown sand. But it's still beautiful! The pools, lazy river and water slides was where we spent 90% of our time with the kids and it was a lot of fun! Overall it was the best all inclusive resort we've gone to! Do not hesitate to book this resort, it's amazing! Can't wait to be back!! A little shout out to Akia and Topaz for being so great. My kids will miss you!! And also to Sharnil and Nesta at the Jerk Treehouse for making the best jerk chicken and always fun to talk to!!

    NO FOOTBALL

It would have been more but there was no football/soccer ball but if it wasn’t for Everton, Ray J, or Rockson it would have been 1 or 2. Apart from that the resort was really nice and enjoyable. The resort wasn’t busy at all and there was always free sun beds and space in the pool.

Good for a family vacation needing variety.

This was our first visit to St. Lucia and we stayed in 2 rooms at Coconut Bay. Pros: -Food was always delicious with wide variety of options, no one in our group had any complaints. The reservation-required restaurants in the evenings were elegant and the wait staff was always very friendly. *Book upon arrival, desk closes at 4pm and fills quickly.* -The family pools were great as well as the lazy river and 2 water slides. Everyone enjoyed these. -The beds were comfortable, maid service was completed daily without complaints. -Excursions offered appeared well planned, good variety and fair price point. The Land & Sea was a great day with lots packed in. -Beautiful lobby & fine dining venues. -Beach bar with hammocks to sway in and ample beach chairs was great! -Restaurant wait staff was always very friendly. Cons: -Not meeting the reservation request to have our 2 rooms together, we were told there was no availability and given 2 rooms in 2 different buildings at opposite ends. This started us off on a disappointing note given the request was made in February and then emailed again as a reminder 2 weeks ago. -Not able to accommodate late checkout (1pm vs 11am due to our later flight) for either room even though we requested the day before as instructed to do so. -Bathrooms are outdated, lower your expectations. -Rooms are outdated, very few outlets available. -Thermostat could never reach below 22* C during our entire stay. -This one is my fault, I did not realize the difference between booking on the Atlantic Ocean vs booking on the Caribbean Sea side of the island. Coconut Bay is on the Atlantic, the water is murky and filled with seaweed. They clean it off the beach routinely by tractor but its floating all in the water and it isn't at all the clear blue Caribbean waters you might expect. This is obviously no fault of the resort, I'm just pointing out that I was disappointed and should have done more research. -Very few outlets throughout the rooms, outdated. There was a band/singer each night in the lobby which was nice. There was a fire dance performed on Saturday's "Caribbean Night" and a pool foam party on Friday afternoon the kids enjoyed.

A breakdown of our favorite staff member, rooms, entertainment, an excursion, and the food!

To start, we really appreciated Shekina. We met her at Veranda, and she remembered us throughout our stay, giving us hugs and greeting us whenever she saw our party. She worked really hard to be personable and make us comfortable. Seeing her made our day! Here’s a breakdown of everything else (from the 2nd week of July 2024): Rooms: We were on the adult side right next to the stairs/lobby. Shockingly, it wasn’t ever noisy. They were doing construction on some rooms but started daily from roughly 10am-5pm, so it wasn’t a problem. There were issues with receiving enough towels/toilet paper/water bottles and, as expected, ants were around the room. We frequently had to call the front desk and would sometimes not receive our items until we called more hours later. The couch pulls out and wasn’t terrible to sleep on but super creaky. The worst part would be the bathroom, where the shower struggled to drain, water collected on the floor, and the window/vent was open to the hallway. If anyone would have stuck their phone up there or was tall enough the peek in, they could see everything in the bathroom. Food: They care deeply for those with allergies. Their coffee/tea making station had almond & soy milk. Our party had people with a shellfish allergy, celiac disease, and dairy/egg allergies. Even without meeting the chef (which is an option), we could all find plenty of food to eat. Flip Flops has vegan mozzarella for pizza (pictured) and almost everything at the buffet and reservation restaurants were gluten free. At every restaurant that required a reservation, we were asked our allergies and the server wrote them down with our orders. We went to Calabash, Silk, & Trattora and enjoyed their foods (pictured). Even the buffet had plenty of great options, and they changed the menu daily so it wasn’t the same boring food. They always had a gluten free dessert. Our favorite spot for breakfast was Veranda (adults only). Entertainment: They had plenty of free things to do around the resort (climbing a nearby hill, walking to a market, corn hole, trivia, bingo, etc). The entertainment staff were wonderful at keeping people engaged. Caribbean night (Sat.) and Western night (Tues.) were a blast with shows and themed food! The adult pools were always quiet and my favorite parts. On the kids side, the lazy river and waterslides were fun for kids & adults. We didn’t go in the main kids pool, but the activity pool had a volley ball net. The beach had volleyball, and I briefly went kayaking. It was too windy during our stay to paddle board unfortunately. Excursion: We booked an excursion through the hotel for 5 hours in Soufrière, where we spent 2 of those hours driving and 2 going to the volcano, botanical gardens, and Torielle waterfall. The drive is a little rough, mainly due to motion sickness, but it was worth it. Our driver was very polite and protective of us, telling us exactly how each location worked and cost. Loved seeing the town and stopping on the road to take photos!

Amazing animal sanctuary where we spent most of our time!

The resort was everything we needed. The grounds are mostly flat and handicap accessible, the staff were mostly attentive and friendly, and we spent most of our time at the beautiful animal sanctuary. The animal sanctuary is located on the grounds of Coconut Bay and it is run by Tom (chief engineer). St Lucia Animal Protection Society is an incredible organization and the dogs were the highlight of our trip… along with the male goat who seemed to take interest in my partner! There are chickens, roosters, donkeys, ducks, goats and dogs! I was so impressed with the sanctuary and how well kept it is. I cannot wait to come back to see the renovations. Don’t go over to the sanctuary dressed to impress, if you’re an animal lover you’ll enjoy all of the puppy kisses and muddy paws. There is a sink with soap by the entrance of the sanctuary. Lucy (the resort dog) was another highlight of our trip. I can’t express enough gratitude for Tom, his wife, and staff for taking care of these precious animals and giving them loving homes. I wish I could have brought them all home with me! Pete would have adored my dog at home. This resort is only a 5 minute drive from the airport and has everything you will need. Plenty of beachfront to walk, snorkel gear is provided and plenty of food options. We enjoyed karaoke with the staff, and the dinner entertainment shows. We didn’t even swim in the pools because we spent plenty of time snorkeling in the ocean. The water slides and lazy River was a great way to relax after a long day of hiking Gros Piton. The resort has an adult side and a family side. We didn’t go to the resort with children, but we spent most of our time on the family side. The housekeeping staff was incredible. Everyday our room was cleaned and waters were provided. I believe our housekeeper was Regina and she was very kind. This resort is clean and hospitable… I highly recommend! We will definitely be back to see Tom at the animal sanctuary! Thank you & see you soon!
