Could Not Ask For Much More

My husband and I traveled to Secrets for a relaxing adult only experience. The resort did not disappoint us. Here are highlights: Champagne and/or rum lunch upon arrival and check-in. Superb service by bellmen and front desk staff. Matthew was awesome, he remembered us by name and greeted us warmly daily. Spacious king room with tiled shower, separate jet tub, mini bar, balcony with a jacuzzi tub large enough for two. The tub overlooks the water. More than five restaurants including Italian, Mexican, Japanese, Jamaican, and American cuisines. They served lobster tail and for Preserved Club guests, lamb chops were offered on the Buffett. Well appointed spa with hydrotherapy including two steam rooms, a sauna, a cold plunge pool, a hot tub, and an ankle level wade pool. We had a couples massage in a nice sized room with a heart shaped tub. We had turn down service each night with a Hersey’s kiss placed on the bed. There is 24 room service with menu items including wings and sandwiches. We had no issues securing pool side or beach chairs Monday - Wednesday. More guests arrived Thursday - Saturday and chairs go quickly. There are a few concerns: The Preferred Club upgrade was an additional $250 per night. It included top shelf liquor at a tiny table top bar, a mini area for food, the jacuzzi tub, a separate pool area, fluffy robes and slippers. We drank all day but found it odd that we were able to do so. Comparatively, one drink upon our return home quickly taught us the drinks are far stronger state side. Don’t expect a Benihana experience at the Japanese restaurant. The food at Secrets did not compare. The Jamaican restaurants however were great. The Jerk chicken pizza at the stand on the beach was pretty good. Tipping is expected . Guests should take plenty of dollar bills and five dollar bills. On the Wednesday of stay our stay, we received notice that the entire resort would be without power. This was a major inconvenience because we left the resort to head into town and could not gain entry info the resort we awaited security.

    Secrets Preferred Club?

The only issue we had was we paid extra to be in the Preferred Club rooms to get the extra amenities but there is no barrier between the normal side and the preferred side so LOTS of people who didn't belong on the preferred side wandered over and were using the beach/hot tub/pool areas who should not have been. What was the point in us paying more if everybody gets to use those things? Sometimes they were escorted out by staff members but we travel all over and most places have some some sort of key code gate/barrier to separate the two different areas.. That is HIGHLY needed at this property. The other side was like constant Spring Break, which is great if that's what you want, but we wanted quiet this trip.. Otherwise, it is a beautiful property with good restaurants and night life!

    Awesome getaway.

Awesome experience. Kenroy and Duran made the trip. Perfect weather. Great food. Quiet room. Lots of restaurant options. Especially enjoyed the Altitude restaurant. Cooler and reserved space at the pool was a special treat. River raft trip was a fun off site experience.

    Secrets excellent standard as usual!

Excellent resort, staff and location! The Secrets excellent standard met once again! This place borders on the Secrets St.James, virtually the same resort. We stayed in a studio with a swim out pool, I’m not a big fan of these but it was a nice touch with a partial ocean view. Room was modern, decent size and always clean. The service in the members lounge and on the beach was top notch. Special shout out to Sheree and Shedane, hope I spelled those right. They were upbeat, funny and hardworking. Nothing tops that! Restaurants all good. Italian and French are my fav, the buffet has everything, it was very good and easy to navigate! Lots of shops. We didn’t do any excursions, just sat on our butts for 7 days! There’s a jerk chicken guy with a smoker that comes around in the afternoon! CHASE HIM if you have to, it is unbelievably good! 😎 As usual Secrets you didn’t disappoint!

    Worst experience

I went on a trip with my friends. I stayed at the wild orchid preferred, my friends stayed at the St James preferred. We heard good things about the resort so we decided to make secrets the experience. Unfortunately it was the worst. It says that dinner is from 6-10pm. Sometimes at nights when we go for dinner we can't get a seating because of the long line. Upon finally get the chance to go in, we were advise by the hostess that they are clearing out and that no more food was left, we had to order room service. During the day when we go on the beach, we can't get any chairs to sit. Most chairs had things on them and we were told that some were butlers rooms. The guy on the beach said that if a chair is not being used for some time we can use it, the chairs had stuff on it for over 2 hours and no one came to the chairs. When we called for housekeeping they take the entire day to come to our room. When we first checked in our mini bar wasn't stocked. The 3rd night, we decided to go outside the resort to have dinner, I was told that the agents at the desk would be able to call a cart for us to take us to the gate because the property is huge and it's a lot of walking. We came down the front desk at 10:30 the night to get the front desk to assist. I saw a guy walking away from the desk, he never came back. The next night we came down the same time to go out of the resort to a party, there wasn't anyone at the desk. I was been advise that the agents shift finished at 11pm. I asked to speak with a manager when I spoke to a bellman. Richard was the manager and he reached out to me after I voice my concern, the only thing that he did was offered $100 resort credit due to the inconvenience. Upon checking out, we spent the entire morning at the front desk checking out and signing different papers. My drive almost left me. I would never come back to secrets. Worst resort after. The only good thing is the marijuana that the bellmen sold us. That was good stuff. But the resort overall is a mess. I don't even want to add the pictures and videos cause it will make the resort look horrible, even though they are. They sent me an email survey, I didn't even reply to the email because only the resort can see the response.
