    Amazing holidays 🌴🐢⛱️👏

We would particularly like to thank the manager of this sublime 5-star resort, Fernando, who was always available to answer all our questions and deal with any small problems (faulty battery for the entrance to the room)...responsive, communicative, friendly and very professional. A very big Thank You to him 🙏👌. The rest of the Staff is not to be outdone, thanks to Vitoria for her smile and friendliness at reception, Librado for his barman skills and speed and friendliness at the Pool bar, as well as José from the Pool bar upstairs, table service José and the rest of the table staff, the smiling girls at the buffet every morning, the housekeepers always smiling and of course the entertainment team always in a good mood!!!! The whole team at this magnificent place made our holiday a memorable one. Many thanks to you all. Beijos from Portugal 😘

Good value for money, but too noisy

For those looking to relax: Generally, it's a resort for Americans looking to get drunk, so it's not really a place to relax. You can see people taking tequila shots from 9 am, unable to watch their kids, and needing assistance to return to their rooms. It's really ugly sometimes and I don't know why those people continue to be served. Not to mention the people in the pools screaming all day as if there's no one else around. It's cheap. However, there is a "silent" area at the end of the resort with no music, so it somehow works. Even though it's advertised as "silent," there are 2-3 activities around the pool that involve music. Make sure you ask for a room far away from the food trucks, which are open 24/7. Every night, drunk people listen to music, laugh, scream, and make noise. As you can guess, none of the staff are stopping them. "Entertainment" is another issue because there is non-stop activity and VERY loud music. At normal resorts, you can have a drink in the evening calmly, enjoying the warm summer night. This is not the case here. For people looking for beach days: Bring your swim shoes because there are lots of rocks. The bigger issue is the seaweed covering the beach and floating in the water. There are moments when it's possible to go into the water, and it's clean, but most of the time, it's not very pleasant unless you don't mind the seaweed. We were here at the end of April and the beginning of May. For foodies: The buffet is actually good. The concept is that there are different stations (Asian, pasta, pizza, sushi, Mexican, BBQ, etc.), so the food generally does not change. We tried the Mexican restaurant once, and it was superb. Make sure you make a reservation in advance because the restaurants are very busy. For those wanting to visit Tulum and Playa del Carmen: To get to Tulum Beach, you can first take a Colectivo at the entrance of the resort to Tulum Village for 50 pesos, then a taxi to Tulum beach for between 600-700 pesos. My advice: take a taxi for 1000-1200 pesos and don't waste time. To get to Playa: take a Colectivo for 50 pesos and walk 10 minutes to 5th Avenue; it's very convenient. Taxis on the way back cost 700-800 pesos. For those wanting to party at the resort: There is a disco every evening at the Hacienda. It's not bad for some drinks (all-inclusive) and some dancing between 11 pm and 2 am.

    Hot and enjoyable mostly

Well I rated it a 4 due to the fact that in the buffet for breakfast lunch and dinner unless you are American and a large group you got very little service from your staff if any and I half a few words with the managers in there as they were not doing there job as far as I was concerned (always on their phones) and tried to stop me from getting my own cold drink as I’m not American say waiter will get it (yeh right if you could get hold of one ) the best place to eat we found was in the Hindi restaurant it’s smaller and the staff look after you better than the buffet The best person we found was Fernando on the check in desk he was fantastic and VERY VERY helpful and happy and always had a smile and time for us and helped us when we wanted to go exploring playa del carmen he told us the best time to go and he was correct we had a great time exploring and shopping The pool we used was outside our complex block (12) plenty of sun beds around the pool it was clean and not to busy the life guards were always on the ball watching out for the children they also had a play pool with slides and water fall buckets the children seemed to enjoy that area the sea was a bit rough and the seaweed was always coming in I felt sorry for the people cleaning it up everyday but they where professional and polite aways stopped in the JCB when customers where near so they were safe The pool side snack bars The Truck I found was not that good the menu was limited and the food came out cold if lucky warm Andale Burger Was better the menu was better and the food was hot The best restaurant in the whole resort was the GRAN TORTUGA the meal was fantastic fresh from the rotisserie and service was out of this world the pineapple is to die for warn and a good hint of cinnamon Lovely the staff would run around like headless chickens making sure the customers were happy fed and content BRAVO 10/10 Would we go back YES only because of Fernando and the Gran TORTUGA restaurant

    Another Great Stay!

Always a great time at this hotel. Service at the restaurants was always amazing. Daily cocktails at dinner and lunch kept things interesting. Clean and great views of the ocean. Great, safe hotel for solo travelers who want to relax and not be too busy. Excursions were booked through the hotel and were affordable
