    Overall, great experience 6/2024

I am going to go with a 3.5 to 4. I read so many reviews when I was booking our trip (most of them scared me) and I wanted to write an honest review. Beach is beautiful and they keep it very clean. There are beach "vendors" walking up and down the beach trying to sell things but they are not aggressive at all. This is not a 5 start hotel but maybe a 4 star. The A/C can be a struggle but they did get us fixed the following day. The front desk is very helpful and quick to get you your items that you need. You get two fullsize towels per day..that's wash rags, hand towels, etc. You won't get them either, we asked. If you are going for food experiences, this hotel isn't it, fair to medium at best but you won't starve. They have several and they are first come first serve, no reservations. Drinks are great, coffee is awesome! Beach bathrooms are very clean! We were in building 5 and the room was very nice. There are no drawers but closets with shelves and hanging space. The medical service people write about is is $205 just to be looked at then medicine is on top of that and we were never told if the doctor was really there so we opt'd not to pay the money and tough it out. We used the water to brush our teeth, drank bottled water, bar drinks...never got sick at all. Pretty grounds and lots of pools. The kid area looks like a ball. Hope this helps you decide! Customer service is a 5!

    Not the best experience ever!

Not a new hotel at all, partially renovated, more than half of the hotel is is in poor condition, at first they put us in a 4th floor, the elevator broken, my daughter hit her head on a concrete column going up stairs. The safe didn’t work, then they moved us to a 2nd floor same building, same problem, even worse ac, no water, etc. next day finally moved to a 1st floor on a renovated building, the ac don’t work properly but is a better room so I stayed. the food is good but im not sure what is it, every one in our group of 13 people is sick with diarrhea and vomiting, maybe the water they use to wash the vegetables with. AC in room doesn’t work properly! Today is Father’s Day. They have no beer, no margarita, no mojito, etc… the people work really good and try their best to serve 5 stars on that!!! Also not really all inclusive, I paid almost 200 for a dinner at the beach, they promised to be the best, worst food, poor selection, they didn’t want to give us almost nothing, my wife had to tell them that we paid extra for that! Incredible! I have been in Dominican Republic more than 15 times, this is probably our last trip to RD. I’m still sick I never experienced this ever in my 42 years of age! The wifi is good almost everywhere in the hotel, also be aware there are people selling drugs at the beach, the hotel has nothing to do with it but they are at the hotel beach! I always had a good experience with dreams and sunscape before and because I brought 13 people I had to pay a fortune for all of us! The animation is great and people that work Here are great, but not a hotel. It’s really not ideal!

Beach is superb. Food is mediocre at best

Resort is pleasant. Not luxury by any means, but it doesn’t claim to be. Food is basic and repetitive. A la Cartes aren’t great. The Italian was absolutely dire!! We walked out without eating after sending the meal back twice. My thinking is that a proper chef has shown other kitchen staff how to prepare and present meals and then left them to it, as no properly trained self respecting Chef would send out the muck we got in the Italian! The “cannelloni” was basically the leftover squares of lasagne from the buffet, swamped in sauce and pesto. Sauce was warm, the rest was cold. The food for me REALLY let this resort down. The Japanese was good but because “normal” diners are seated right next to the Tapanyaki hot plates, you can’t hear yourself talk!! Rooms are so-so. I read that rooms had been refurbished in 2023, I don’t think mine had! Had to chase maid every day as she hadn’t replaced coffee or beers, though towels were changed each day and the floor mopped. We had no TV for 3 days, it had appeared to go off right across the resort but we didn’t get any information from staff or managers. Showers/hot water etc were fine. Spoke to several people who’d been ill. If you MUST stay here, then a pool access room or a pool suite is worth the upgrade. The beach is lovely and we had no trouble getting sun-beds. You can only use the beach “Bali-beds” if you pay for them….$60 a day!!! What??? We didn’t use the bali beds!! We had no issues with hassle from the beach vendors. No evening entertainment of any kind in the adults only area. If you wanted any kind of entertainment, then you had to go where the families and kids were, which kind of made the “adults only” concept a bit of a joke! Our favourite staff member, who always had a lovely welcome, a smile and a happy nature was ZOILA in Kaleidoscope buffet. She made our breakfast and lunch great. I wouldn’t return to this resort but I wouldn’t not recommend it either, it’s just not for me as the food side of my vacations are important to me and this resort has a long way to go, food-wise, before they come near it for me!
