Greta location - but location isn't everything.

I really wanted to like this hotel.... I'll start with the bad and end with the good. The bad: Parking: Parking is a complete mess. The parking garage is shared with Ala Moana Surfrider. They do not disclose this until there is an issue. Ala Moana has a number of spots reserved for valet, which the Princess does not have. The sign on the parking garage says hotel guests only, but we observed people parking and then venturing into Waikiki. We observed multiple people paying with credit cards upon exiting yet registered guests can enter and exit using the license plate reader. There is a gate attendant, but they were apathetic at who was coming and going. Once the garage is full you have to park at International Market and walk to the hotel. When addressed with the GM the response was "your welcome email said parking was subject to availability." While that is true, not really the response I would give a Titanium member with over 700 nights in a Marriott. If you have to park at the Sheraton, be prepared to not have a space, park offsite, and navigate yourself back to the hotel though the International Market. An additional note on the parking is the parking garage floor numbers do not correlate with hotel floor numbers. If you enter the parking garage from the 4th floor of the hotel, you walk out onto the 7th floor of the parking garage. If you go down to the 3rd floor and enter the parking garage you are on the 5th level. It is haphazard and at times, confusing. If you stay in a different tower, you have to come to the lobby and then get on different elevators to access the parking garage or take a different set of stairs. Elevators: The hotel has four elevators for one tower and four for another. At one time, only two were working in one tower. Guests had to use the service elevator at certain times due to capacity. Not sure why they stopped, but at one point, there was a 15-minute wait for elevators. At certain times the lines stretched from the elevators all the way back to the pool/bar area. The good: Location: One of the best locations in Waikiki. You are right across the street from the beach, easy walk to eat, shop, etc. Would I stay here again? No. The inconvenience of parking, waiting on elevators (maybe they are fixed by now), and the general dismissiveness of the GM once an issue was raised is enough for me to seek lodging elsewhere. I had a reservation for a future work trip this year and immediately cancelled it and rebooked at a different Marriott property.

    Great stay!

Caro is just the best employee at your hotel. She's always so kind and accommodating! I love this hotel, such comfortable bedding & great location. I come here on business & always look forward to it. It's like a mini vacation, even though it's for work!

    Caro 5 stars

Caro was an amazing host. She checked everyone in super quickly. Her smile was radiant. She was super kind. We asked her questions about where to eat and she gave us a great suggestion. Caro went above and beyond to link all of our reservations so we did not have to move rooms. She's a phenomenal person and I love her positive energy

Fatty koi fish in a small pond

The hotel is an excellent location. You can walk to the beach across the street, check out a restaurant within walking distance and if you’re lucky, you’ll have a room with some beach view (as I did). The hotel is undergoing remodeling so be aware if that matters to you. My room seemed to have recently been remodeled. It was clean and had functioning AC. The bathroom had small vanity & shower curtains. (I personally appreciate a bigger vanity and shower doors.) Housekeeping service amazing. The reason for the three stars is because of the koi fish in the pool area. My personal opinion is if hotels will use fish or any animal for decorative purposes, they should at bare minimum provide the species with appropriate enclosure. The koi fish seemed too overweight for a minuscule pond. They could barely swim!!!!! It’s time to find them another pond! Also, I hear the mongoose preys on the bird traps. Let’s do better Sheraton!!
