THE STAFF GO ABOVE & BEYOND

I came with my friend & couldn’t recommend the resort enough…. However, the staff went above & beyond, especially Ari (Aranza), Sergio and Elias - the staff made our holiday so much fun!!!

    Good weekend getaway

Overall good experience, elevators could be bigger and faster, AC in room could be stronger and shows could be more diverse We loved bartender Marcos at Gypsi bar and Gabriel at street tacos. Give them a raise and bonus, they are amazing!

    Honest review of our honeymoon

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for two weeks during our honeymoon. We booked the Preferred Club with an ocean view. Pros Beautiful surroundings, great pools, and nice rooms. Helpful and friendly staff. Really good service from the restaurant staff in the evenings! Cons We found a cockroach in our room. We understand it’s a tropical climate, but in a hotel at this price level, this really shouldn’t happen. I also got food poisoned one night and felt extremely sick — I threw up three times in just a few hours. I’ve never had food poisoning this bad in my life. We’re always very careful with hygiene when we travel: used hand sanitizer constantly, never brushed our teeth with tap water, were careful at the buffet, and we don’t drink alcohol. The morning when I threw up, I called housekeeping at 9 AM, but it took them two hours to come. This was not okay .. The service at the beach was basically non-existent. We were there several times and most of the time the servers just walked past us. We went to get our own drinks, and nobody came to collect empty glasses unless we left our chairs or went into the ocean. We were sitting right in the middle of the beach, directly in front of the towel station, so it’s not like we were hidden. We also had poor service at the lagoon pool. Several times a server took orders from two guests right next to us but didn’t even approach us, even though we were sitting directly beside them. Tips were appreciated, but it was clear that some staff expected them — we noticed they checked immediately when guests left their table. We also felt that people who tipped more got better service at the pools and bars. It shouldn’t be like that. There weren’t many gluten-free options at the lunch or breakfast buffet. The main thing available was plain gluten-free bread — no gluten-free pasta or similar. We didn’t really notice any “perks” of being in the Preferred Club, so we wouldn’t book it again. We only visited the rooftop once. In the mornings, we had to wait around 30 minutes for a breakfast table. We tried lunch there once, but the food wasn’t good — pretty dry.

    Enjoyed our stay

3 night stay to help friends celebrate a wedding. Resort is new, modern, lovely! Stunning ocean view from the main building. We opted in for Preferred Club which has mixed reviews, we were happy with the upgrade and would recommend. Enjoyed the ability to spend time at the quieter rooftop pool and ate all breakfasts and lunch at the rooftop restaurant. Given we were there for a wedding we had limited opportunity to check out the other restaurants. Pool concierge Daniel was super helpful and attentive, thank you! The main pool, closest to the ocean is definitely the most active. We had a ocean view room on the exterior, definitely recommend trying to get a room that faces the interior. Although we could view the ocean, our view was more of dirt parking lot and a hotel that appeared to be under renovation. If we were there for more than 3 days, I would have pushed for a room change. Would have enjoyed more live music options during post-dinner hours and an outside pre-dinner craft cocktail option. We do not lean towards all-inclusive venues however for those that do a great option and worth a try!

    Relaxation

Was treated with nothing but repeat and amazing service from the time we arrived until we departed. We were preferred so only used the roof top pool and pretty much had breakfast and lunch there. Did breakfast or lunch buffet maybe twice but we rather eat at preferred pool. Room 3710 has an amazing view but it’s by the UVC room so you’ll hear loud music starting around 7am to maybe 6 -7 pm. Be prepared for long waits at all restaurants besides the Mexican which was our favorite and Italian being my least since I got food poisoning on my last night which I’m still recovering from. Dark horse is a good spot to watch the games or grab a drink while you wait for the buzzer to go off for dinner. Plenty of pools but they were just too cold so didn’t care for any of them. Great drink service ever. I would return when the get dinner wait times under control.
