Best hospitality
My husband and I visited Waikiki and normally stay at a different hotel but it was under construction. We found the Alohilani and fell in love with the atmosphere and photos online. After checking in to our room and not having the best experience, we met Sio (Sarah) who was the manager on duty during that time. Sio was honestly a breath of fresh air that is missing in the hospitality industry. She not only was extremely warm to us and concerned, but her kindness and hospitality completely turned our experience around. She handled our concerns with care and urgency and in turn we got to enjoy the rest of our stay and I truly believe it was all because of Sio. She exemplifies what great leadership in hospitality looks like and it was so inspiring to see how much her team around her respects and admires her as well. We appreciate it!!

Good location and social areas, average rooms, and below average for points system.
Good location, great atmosphere in the common and social areas, but the rooms were average and underwhelming. The rating is mostly related to the lack of flexibility when it comes to earning I Prefer points for my stay, and the staff wasn't knowledgeable enough to find a way to credit my stay with points.

Keep looking
I would not stay here again. We paid over $7000 for two rooms during a six day visit. The bathrooms were motel 6 quality at best. In January, the pool patio gets zero sun during the entire day due to other hotels. It’s $20-30 per drink at the bar, the restaurants the resort claims to have are actually street side and open to the public so expect a 30-45 min wait to get a $25 cup of coffee and a scone. The free beach resort gear is blocks away from the resort and has to be returned by 4pm each day or you’re charged a substantial late fee. The beach adjacent to the hotel is overrun with pot smoking hoodlums and homeless.

No way to sleep
What a desaster this hotel is. Never ever had such a loud building. You hear every word your neighbors say not to mention the TV program. But a very friendly staff.
