    Beyond Disappointing

Alright, let's just get to it! This was our forth and final stay at Alohalani Hotel. We have always enjoyed our oceanfront top floor rooms, always felt like we mattered, and always felt excited to be at this hotel. Always felt it was well worth the money to upgrade here. Let's start with check in... terrible and slow, long wait for no apparent reason; being repeat guests they had all our info and credit info. Also, let me note that the front desk was not extremely friendly., which has not been a past experience either. Arrived to rooms and as always they are pristine and the view is amazing. the balcony just sets it all perfect. The beds and sheets are soft and super comfy! No complaints. We did need extra blanket so we called the front desk, and thus began our disappointment with this entire stay.... For at least three hours we repeatedly called the front desk for no one to answer... finally getting dressed and going downstairs we spoke with the front desk to request said blanket, and it arrived around 11 PM ...at least 2 hours after speaking to the front desk. And so went the entire stay... we found it near impossible to get our rooms cleaned and made up. No one answered housekeeping or the front desk,....EVER!!! We found that the pool extension always answered the phone and they would run interference for us. Ridiculous! For 450. a night plus tax! the entire staff we like..DUH WHAT? No one was accountable or willing to extend themselves to help. I will say I read a past review that said..".The lights were on but nobody was home" and I thought...EXACTLY! Now this was not the case in our past 3 years prior under different management..If it was we would obvioulsly not return.. Now here's the kicker, we complained so many times about getting our room cleaned that they finally showed up day 4 of our stay. Upon our return later that day we noticed my adult daughter's stuffed animal was missing. Now this is no ordinary stuffed animal, it belonged to her child that left this world. She traveled with it everywhere to 70 different countries...she kept and carried this one animal.. we immediately called housekeeping and of course got no answer. We then personally went downstairs to talk with the front desk manager, asking to get the housekeeper to look thru the sheets taken off the bed.Explained the situation about her attachment to this stuffy and why.( it belonged to her child that passed) THAT IT COULD NEVER BE REPLACED! Literally nothing! No maids, no help, nothing. We finally ,ourselves, after many hours, got the phone number to the company that does the laundry, they tried to help but no stuffy was found. I filled out a missing item report with photos, and never heard a thing until a week later that they texted me that the case was closed and item was not found. How freaking disappointing that we relayed the info about how important this stuffy was, and not one manager reached out...I literally saw red! I would never stay here again and I would never recommend this hotel unless management changed. Ive never felt so unheard or un cared for by a company. I only give it a 2 star because of the lovely and outstanding service at the longboard club. It was the only high spot of the 10 days.

    Terrible experience

We got to the hotel at 3:00 our check in time. It should have been an easy checkin. OUR ROOM WAS NOT READY. It would be an hour and a half before we got in our room. The staff did give us a credit to use and a room to change in, but the time was unacceptable. Then,we find out that the sheets were never changed. On the first night we were very tired from a long travel day. We just pulled our covers down just to get in bed. The next day, we were moving thing around and pulled the sheets down all the way. We found caked chocolate on the sheets. Absolutely disgusting. The staff was not very responsive. They eventually did show up. They didn’t seem very apologetic. We did get some compensation, but I would never recommend this hotel.

    Ripp Off

We had to pay the resort fee twice. The hotel said we have to complain with the booking provider (Agoda) and the booking provider tells us to complain at the hotel. In the end we payed 400 Dollars for three days to rent some chairs at the beach which we must bringt back by 5pm. It's a total ripp off! PS: The girls at the rental service Beach Candy were unprofessional and unfriendly teenagers.

Lights aren’t on and nobody’s home in a place that used to be our favorite Waikiki hotel😢

Gone way downhill without any brakes! Use to live this gem but now it’s service mess. WiFi? Doesn’t work? Coffee machine? Doesn’t work. Swimming pool? No chairs and loud obnoxious music. Check in took almost an hour and he still couldn’t find my Reservation although I called twice the morning of to make sure? Asked for oceanfront upgrade for 70 but that got screwed up. Stay at other better hotels close by!

    Big Disappointment

I would rate it a 4 out of 5. Only due to the bathroom. The toilet is on top of the bathroom door, and the toilet is so low it is hard to sit down on it. It’s like you are squatting! The shower head is old and not a good one. The water pressure is extremely weak. The bar inside the lobby isn’t very friendly. Our experience there was strange. We wanted to have drinks and apps one night. We went there and were told that you have to reserve a 6 or 7-course dinner to eat at the table. Otherwise, you can drink at the bar ( which is tiny) or eat a pizza on the other side in another room. It’s Hawaii, why would I want to eat a pizza ? Not a friendly atmosphere for us. This was a big disappointment. The pool isn’t the best since they have couches outdoors but not enough to support so many people wanting to be at the pool. We sat at the pool and no one came to take an order. They totally ignored us. This is more of a business convention hotel and not much of a leisure one. Mostly young people in their twenties and thirties came here. Plus, flight crew as well. This is not a hotel that should be used if you want a relaxing stay. People screaming in the halls or rooms. Loud noise outside , thumping music was awful, especially the night I had to go to sleep early because I had to wake up at 3:30 a.m. for an early flight. When I asked if the thumping music would end at 8 p.m., she said no, it ends at 9 p.m. I’m not opposed to having fun, but this was so loud that at 15 floors up I could feel the thumping vibration. Headache-style thumping music is awful. Then Stephanie had the nerve to say she can send up earplugs. WOW. Young people really don’t get it. Some staff at the front desk were nice but not very accommodating. Will never come here again or stay at any hotel that is owned by The Rockwell Group.
