  Great Holiday

  We’ve just got back after 14 nights and honestly had a fantastic time! We were really worried about this after seeing a few negative reviews but thankfully we didn't experience anything to complain about. We had two rooms near the Tropic Pool, which was a great location for us. The pool area was lovely and having the bar close by was really handy, especially when spending most of our days around the Tropic Pool. ☀️🍹 I do say that it does need a bit of tlc around the pool area as there was a couple of stones in the pool, loose tile and it can be very slippery with people jumping in. One thing we thought was a really great idea was the token system for drinks. It definitely seemed to stop so many glasses being left around the pool area, which kept everything much tidier. The tokens weren’t needed at night, which was also really handy. Cocktails of the day were made fresh however the rest are from a machine. I highly recommend the honey rum it was amazing! We did have an issue with the air conditioning in one of our rooms, but this was reported and fixed the same day so we couldn’t fault the response. Room cleaning was never really an issue for us either. Apart from one day when one of the rooms wasn’t cleaned, everything was kept nice and tidy. As this was the day before we came home, it wasn’t an issue for us at all. We also didn’t have any problems with the food. Yes, it wasn’t always the warmest, but we always found something we enjoyed and there was plenty of choice even for the kids who can be picky at times. Theme nights were great. I would say our favourites were Mexican and Orential nights. One thing we would definitely recommend bringing is mosquito repellent. Unfortunately, we did get a few little nibbles during our stay, so it’s definitely an essential. If you forget it, you can buy repellent from the shop on site or at the HyperDino nearby. Getting out of the resort was easy too. The walk takes around 15–20 minutes and the boardwalk makes it a really nice walk. If you don’t fancy walking, taxis can also be booked from reception. All the staff were great and really friendly. Overall, we had a brilliant 14 nights and made some lovely memories. We were sad to leave and would definitely consider coming back in the future ❤️🌴☀️.

  Enjoyed the stay

  With a few updates to the hotel would be fantastic. Loved the layout of the hotel, it has so much packed into it. The grounds are stunning and the gardeners have done a fab job. The cleaners are fantastic and cleaned our room daily. The location was fab for us. The room layout is great, and wardrobe is spacious (although could be rearranged for better utilisation) the furniture in our room was very tired, chipped and stained, the shower tray needed replacing and the balcony table was awful. No ventilation in the bathrooms and the AC went down for two nights but we got it sorted. If it wasn’t for our amazing cleaner I probably would have complained about the room and ask for a change. I knew it was clean just tired. The beds (even the sofa bed) are very comfy for us. We struggled with the food, very little options for our kids. They lived on chips and pasta for lunch and dinner over the two weeks. For the adults, the options were low and seemed to be same most nights but appreciated that they the food was local to the island. We had to take food from one restaurant and bring to other some days so we could eat all together. We saw some people the end of our holiday with pizza for the kids, the staff gave us conflicting info on how to order it, so it never happened for us. There was as some conflicting info on what was allowed and not in some pools in relations to floaties and balls, it didn’t affect us but some kids were upset by it. Some beds and umbrellas need replacing, and the drains around the other pool areas needed clearing, a lot of debris. In saying all this we still had a great holiday and enjoyed our stay. Family of seven and three generations. I think you need to make the most of things when you can. As I said before, a few updates and the hotel would be perfect.

  Great family holiday

  Great location, walking distance to shops, supermarkets, beach, waterpark. Beautiful and vast hotel grounds and amazing helpful staff from cleaners to front desk. Our 2 bed apartment had some parts that could do with refurbishment and fixing but overall spacious enough for a family of 4 with jack&jill bathroom. Cleaning could have been better on first impression, quite a few dead bugs on the walls and ceilings. I think I counted 6 pool dotted about which works great because you don't have to walk far and they are various depths, catering for all, including kids. Entertainment was top quality but mainly singers and take place in the bar area which is not very big so hard to get a seat. There's a whole theatre that seems to only be used for kids disco and one night there was acrobat show. Food was as expected for an all inclusive, plenty of meat, fish and salad amongst the usual abundance of dessert and fruits. Kids menu was lacking. Overall I enjoyed our stay and would recommend for families. If I visited Corralejo again, I would choose Alua Suites.

  Great hotel but sun beds an issue

  Great hotel, would definitely stay there again, only down side was the sun beds, unless you got up at 6 am you would be lucky to find a sun bed that’s no got a towel on it, the hotel policy is to remove towels after 30mins if no one was using them, though I only saw this enforced once.

  My Favourite Club? I Don’t Think So!

  We booked Alua Suites Fuerteventura – My Favourite Club believing we were choosing a more comfortable, premium experience. Sadly, almost immediately after arriving, we felt deflated and deeply disappointed. The rooms were incredibly basic, tired and completely lacking the quality or attention to detail we expected from a four-star hotel. The telephone in my room didn’t even work. Nothing about the accommodation felt special or deserving of the “My Favourite Club” name. Breakfast involved long queues, the food was unpalatable, and what we witnessed of the kitchen staff handling the food was enough to turn our stomachs. There seemed to be very little care given to either the food or the overall guest experience. Most of the staff we encountered appeared grumpy and unwelcoming, with the notable exception of the cleaning staff, who were pleasant, kind and hardworking. We had looked forward to this holiday so much, which made the reality even more upsetting. Instead of settling in and relaxing, we spent our first day and a half feeling miserable and trying to find a way to leave. Thankfully, Jet2 listened to our concerns and moved us to another hotel, where the difference was immediate. We weren’t expecting over-the-top luxury, but we did expect comfort, good food, welcoming service and the superior experience we had paid for. Unfortunately, we found none of those things here. I would avoid this hotel, particularly the “My Favourite Club” option. It was a thoroughly disappointing start to our holiday and not an experience I would wish to repeat.
