Great quiet place with excellent beach
Anse Marcel is a little vacation town, 10 minutes away from the more populated area. Those 10 minutes are over the steep and twisted road, but not really dangerous. The town consists of a couple of hotels and some condos. There is a small grocery with fresh bread every morning, and a couple of restaurants. The main attraction is the bay with its beach, which is calm and sandy, with a spectacular view. If you snorkel, there are some rocks with some fish. Le Domaine Anse Marcel hotel consists of several 3-storey building right next to the beach. The suites are spacious, with large balcony and a small but functional kitchenette and a small fridge. Hotel guests have reserved beach chairs and umbrellas on the beach and the pool. The hotel restaurants are very good (make sure to make reservations). The hotel has ample parking on the grounds. All the hotel personnel is very nice and accommodating.

Extremely rude service from beach server
Extremely rude service from beach server My family and I frequent different beaches on both French and Dutch side of the island. Ance Marcel beach is by the far the worst service we have ever had. The beach server (didn’t even tell us his name) from the moment he approached us was so rude and condescending. First of all there is no signage anywhere displaying rules or instructions for guests who arrive on the beach. We stood around waiting and no server or host was around. Mind you it was not a busy day at all. We found 2 lounge chairs that were not being used so we set our bags down and sat there waiting for an employee to come over. The whole back row of lounge chairs were all empty and several empty lounge chairs in the front row were empty as well. Then as we were getting settled in, the male beach server approached us very confrontational. Instead of greeting us, he rudely said “we can’t just sit ourselves down that’s now it works here there are rules”. We said oh ok well you have no signs posted here and we go to beaches on Dutch and French side. He says “I don’t ever work in Dutch side I don’t know what they do over there.” He proceeded to say he will pick a spot for us. So we had to grab our things and move. He then tried to sit us in the back row when there were plenty of open chairs in the front row. So I told him no I prefer to sit in the front. Then he noticed I was holding my bottled water and started saying we can’t drink our own water that we brought we will have to purchase. After he took payment for the chairs I had to ask him twice for a menu. He brought one over after waiting for over 20 minutes and NEVER once came back to take our order or check if we needed anything. He and another server went and checked on other groups around us but never came to us or anyone else on the side we were at. How ironic I’m not allowed to drink my water yet your server can be rude and ignore a paying customer? The whole experience was so unnecessary and made my family and I very unwelcomed and discriminated. TRAIN YOUR EMPLOYEES TO BE POLITE AND DO BETTER IN CUSTOMER SERVICE. There are plenty of other nice beaches and restaurants in the island who actually value and appreciate their customers. Also the bathrooms were DISGUSTING AND FILTHY! There was feces on the floor in one of the bathrooms stalls in the women’s bathroom. Nothing luxury about this place. Don’t waste your time or money here go somewhere else. Will make sure to not recommend this place to anyone I know or meet.

A wonderful stay as a solo traveler
A lovely hotel set on a great beach. My room was great and, despite it being high season, the hotel and the beach did not feel crowded at all. The hotel’s 2 restaurants were great - breakfast included excellent bread and croissants that were so reminiscent of Paris! One word of caution- the location is somewhat remote, reachable by a narrow winding road over a mountain (great views!) ; something to consider if one is not comfortable driving, especially at night.

A decent apartment hotel
We love Anse Marcel and have been visiting Anse Marcel off and on since 1995. We liked it when the Le Meridien hotel chain used to manage the properties. This time, we decided to try Le Domaine even though it seemed like it was no longer a full service hotel. This was more like an Apartment Hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful, but the office is only open till 6pm - after that, there is no one to help. The room included daily maid service. The beach is as lovely as ever and is the main reason to stay here. Lounge chairs/umbrellas are free for hotel guests. The beach restaurant is also quite nice for lunch or breakfast. Also, you're within a short drive to Grand Case, where many of the island's best restaurants are located. The rooms are generally clean and nice - we had a wonderful view of the ocean. As far as negatives, the towels were thin and rough like sand paper. There were no tissues/Kleenex - we went to the office and were provided the last box. We had mosquitos in the room - needed to buy mosquito repellant at the grocery store and that didn't work entirely well. We learned to live with the mosquitos and opted not to use the balcony because of the mosquitos. We were also visited in the room by a small gecko and a very large cockroach. If you're ok with the apartment/hotel concept, then this hotel is fine and you cannot find a better calm beach. We prefer a full-service hotel.

Gorgeous resort, best beach on the island!
We had an excellent stay at this beautiful resort! The room was clean, comfy king sized bed, kitchenette. The pool was clean and well maintained! The beach is gorgeous and the surf is calm! Special thank you to the two ladies at the front desk! Merci!
