We had a exceptional Experience with Ruaha River Lodge! From the warm welcome to our exceptional guide Felix and our Driver Calvin they were very accommodating and they tolerated my Canadian sense of humour ! All the Staff! The chef and servers were efficient & Helpful all the behind the scene staff the Maasai who walked us back and forth to our rooms. The experience of having animals walking along the dry river bank in front of your own lodge and hearing the wildlife outside your widow at night was exciting! Would highly recommend any of the Foxes Lodges. They are an organization that are great Stewards of the Land and it’s people

Unbeatable experience!
We stayed four nights at Ruaha River Lodge with Foxes. The staff were truly remarkable - kind and attentive. You really put your trust in them and feel completely at ease. Our guide was Alex, and we cannot express just how brilliant he was. He had a laugh with us, looked after us, was wonderfully knowledgeable and genuinely cared and wanted us to have the best experience - you could see he was continuously scanning the landscape searching for wildlife. We were also lucky that Bruce (from the Fox family) was there — his stories around the campfire were unforgettable and we loved listening to them. One of the most incredible moments was witnessing a baby elephant being born over lunchtime. I then proceeded to spend two hours on our veranda just watching mother and calf by the river. The accommodation was very comfortable and spacious: our banda was made from stone and thatch, with a large, private veranda overlooking the river. The food at Ruaha was exceptional. The Foxes team clearly put thought into their menus, sourcing locally and bringing in produce from their farm to create delicious and varied meals. I don’t think they celebrate this enough, it’s such a special element that they grow much of their own produce. Wildlife was never far — and thanks to Alex’s patience and skill, our drives were rewarding. We saw prides of lions and we even saw a leopard slink out of a tree and stalk its prey. Ruaha River Lodge was the highlight of our Foxes safari holiday - and one we hope to return too. Thank you to all the team - Charlotte and Luis

Spectacular Safari
Helen and I had the most amazing safari with the Ruaha River Lodge. The lodge on the banks of the Ruaha River and our cabin were perfect. Waking up with coffee on the deck of our cabin with a spectacular view of the river bed with so many elephants marching up and down the river bed. The variety of animals we saw just from our cabin was incredible. Wonderful meals each day and excellent service. Laundry service was very much appreciated. Anyone wishing for an outstanding safari will not be dissapointed.

The animal spirits …
I had been wanting to see Ruaha for years because of its high concentration of large predators ( lions, leopards, hyena,) and the ecosystems by the riverbeds and the surrounding baobab forests. Baboons looking down on a rock cliff, impala darting through the scrub and many herds of zebra, elephant, and the Cape buffalo .. there was a buffalo kill on a slanted riverbed and two male lions well filled .. beeeaters and roller birds in the trees, owls tucked away in thatched roofs. Yellow birds and colorful Agama lizards near the breakfast area. Just delightful.. hyenas running in thier sloped gate.. or just looking and down again .. can’t be bothered.. later I went on to Kenya.. but Ruaha stayed with me..

The closest to nature you’ll ever get.
Amazing lodges . Great food and picnics . The guides are very experienced and the whole area is full of animals but they are not easy to find which is the whole point of going on safari. It’s closest to a nature you’ll ever get .
