  A MEMORABLE EXPERIENCE OF GREEK HOSPITALITY !!!!

  Even if we stayed for a few days in Athens Marriott Hotel we experienced such care and interest that made our moments spared there memorable and we are really astonished by the greek hospitality !!! It's a big hotel that provides great accomodation and amenities in the rooms !!!! Sometimes it's overcrowded!!! Many air crews and many groups like us that travel in cruiseships and spend some days to see Athens and Acropolis or to go on a cruise in some greek islands !!! The MARRIOTT BRAND is famous for its loyalty and that's the reason many people choose hotels of Marriott Chain ! We experienced breakfast and lunch in Made in Athens restaurant. Our stay will be something to remember because we 're specially treated by MARIENTINA and EIRINI who served us daily with care , had great conversations with and showed willingness το propose us the italian night at TRATORIA in MADE IN ATHENS RESTAURANT at the ground floor ! Unfortunately we had to fly back home and mised it !! At least we managed to visit the closest sighseeings,Niarhos Park and Flisvos marine after their recommendations !! They did their best and far more with all the and treated all the customers always with a warm smile even if they were only two and had to handle so many people !!! The breakfast buffet was awsome with great variety , gluten free corner, omelette station where they we had our omelettes done in front of us with a special treat of ILIAS , delicious pancakes an traditional pastries like mpougatsa and tsoureki !!! We had already spent the previous night to E&O restaurant after Marientina's recomentation and we were very satisfied with the professionalism of GIANNIS AND GEORGE . Great flavors and Great staff . A night to remember under the greek sky !!! A huge thanks to everybody .From the simpe maid to the manager . Everybody has added a little small piece to keep this hotel in such a high level !!! Keep on the good work !!! We'll surely recomend Athens Marriott Hotel and who knows may be life bring us again to your door !!!

  Not as good as some Marriott’s

  We stayed 2 nights following a Viking cruise, Booking in was a nightmare, so many people from the cruises and independents trying to book in at the same time My husband presented his lifetime Gold elite card which they said was on the system, but it didn’t offer us any upgrades or indeed any privileges . We had previous tried several times to telephone the hotel about this and possible upgrades, and the Viking reception team also tried, the number was never answered, we also set an e mail. Which was also never replied to. We understand that the booking was made via Viking, but an answer to the calls etc would have been nice. Breakfast on the first morning was a free for all, no one to show you to a table, just as well as there was hardly any free ones! No coffee served to the table you had to take your cup to an urn to fill it up, or stand in a hugs queue for the’ special coffees’ The cooked breakfast had scrambled eggs that were watery , sausages greasy and not good, and pastries that had been put next to the coffee urn, so it was difficult to see what there was with so many people queueing to make their tea or coffee. The second morning we chose to sit outside with the smokers, we don’t smoke, but it was a better environment, and away from all the queueing etc while we ate. I just had coffee and a pastry after the previous days ‘offerings’ The bedroom was very dark, poor lighting, the ‘white’ duvet cover and pillows had a grey tinge to them, and didn’t look nice, as did the towels, we had to request a second towel set as the room was only set up for one person. The full length mirror had been placed where you hang your clothes, so you had to take the said clothes down to use the mirror All in all not a great stay, some of the staff were lovely, especially in the roof top bartender, but most didn’t reply to a good morning or a friendly kalimera Not a good vibe to the normally excellent Marriott group. .

  Great hotel and delicious food.

  We had a wonderful experience at this hotel, with a stunning rooftop overlooking the Acropolis that truly took our breath away. The staff was kind an attentive, making us feel welcomed and cared for throughout our stay. The highlight for us was the delicious food, which added a special touch to our visit.

  M lounge food is outstanding

  This is a solid 4+ star Marriott but I’m giving 5 stars because of the M lounge evening food. It is high quality authentic Greek. World class mini buffet of olives, hummus, meatballs, pasta, and other items that reflect local cuisine with excellent taste. Best breadsticks I’ve ever had. The staff is also outstanding; friendly and attentive, in addition to being actually Greek. Highly recommended.

  People make all the difference!

  The Athens Marriott is a fantastic property that’s just a 15-20 minute taxi ride from Straka, shopping, bars, or a rooftop restaurant over looking the Acropolis. The hotel has all the services you could possibly need. It’s located in an area that’s quiet enough to get a great night sleep before your cruise, or a day trip to one of the amazing islands. If you want something within walking distance, there are numerous restaurants nearby, or you can stay and eat in the hotel restaurant. The rooms are beautiful, clean, & most importantly, the air conditioning works fantastic. By the way, that’s not always an easy find in Europe. All of that being said, even the best properties in the best locations, are only as good as the people that work there. Mary Ann was the perfect example of a Marriott brand ambassador. The hotel cruise director if you will. She was working reception in the bar/restaurant area, and was an absolute pleasure in every way. Mary Ann was friendly, helpful, informative, and welcoming. She made us feel like long lost family members, and deserves recognition and special thanks for making our stay a memorable one. Thank you again for a great stay, we look forward to visiting again soon.
