  My trip

  Everything is wonderful, the room was excellent, the entertainment team is very fun and they know how to dance and the Xaymaca show is an absolute must do experience to live.

  A disaster. Horrible food. Rude service. Consistently no soap and/or toilet paper in public bathrooms. Nothing to do. It's in the middle of nowhere. $ 80 usd to get driven anywhere. "pool parties" & " beach parties" are amateur productions. If you love blasting outside loud music all night this is your place.

  Great hotel needs to get to grips with the luke warm food sevred in most of the restuarants, great entertanment and staff, some house keeping needs to improve.

  Very disappointing

  (1). In the Bahia Principe in Jamaica Runaway Bay reception area 1 star. Amstar canceled our tour upon trying to check-in for our tour departure, and now we're stuck with a ruined day on our trip. To make it worse, the US$338 refund takes 10 to 15 days, which means we won't even see that money again until after our vacation is over. That's money we could have used for other plans. (2). On top of that, the tour prices at the resort were higher than what was shown online, and they refused to honor the online pricing. That is absolutely misleading. Really disappointing experience. I wouldn't book with Amstar again. (3). Also, the resort’s main area was closed for renovations during our stay, including much of the shopping, additional dining options, and some of the resort’s most beautiful beach areas. These significant renovations and closures were not disclosed or communicated to us before booking, and substantially limited the resort experience and amenities we expected and paid for. (4) The shower head and stem in our room were broken, causing water to flood the entire bathroom floor whenever the shower was used. This was a significant inconvenience and safety hazard. The entire fixture ultimately had to be replaced the following day, confirming this was not a minor issue. (5) I booked a gel manicure and pedicure the night before and was quoted $80. Upon arrival, I was charged $210, with no prior explanation that basic components such as cuticle care, cleaning/prep, and polish would each be charged separately. I was even charged separately for gel polish on top of the regular polish charge. These additional fees were never communicated when I booked, and the final cost was more than double the price I was originally quoted. Trevor from Guest Experience was extremely attentive and helpful throughout our entire stay. His excellent service and genuine care helped ease some of the disappointment we experienced with the resort. “Crazy Legs” from the pool entertainment team was absolutely fantastic! His energy and personality had us laughing and enjoying ourselves and, for a while, made us forget about the disappointments we had experienced. He was truly one of the highlights of our stay.
