  Amana Wet Bar staff are fabulous

  A special mention for Alexis & Alberto ❤️ We’ve just come home after a lovely fortnight at Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda and really wanted to mention two people who made our holiday extra special. Alexis, our pool waiter, was fantastic. He always seemed to know when our drinks were getting low and, by the second week, was bringing the next ones before we even asked! 😂 Such a lovely, friendly guy. Alberto at the Amana Wet Bar was equally brilliant — so attentive and always smiling. And he made the best Bloody Marys, exactly how I liked them! 🍹 By the end of the fortnight, they both felt more like friends than staff. They really did make our holiday and we’ll miss seeing them both. Thank you, Alexis & Alberto — you were the best! ❤️

  Attentive Staff

  Esmeralda 18/9 to 2/10/2026 It was an interesting 2 weeks going from fantastic to the opposite! Amazing staff who looked after us (21) Alexis- around the pool, attentive when ever we were by the pool, remembering what we all drank & always smiling. Thank you Enmanuell & Emlmerlin - buffet, both so lovely, kind, always felt relaxed when they were on duty . Enmanuell was brilliant with the children. Thank you. House Keeping, lovely young lady looked after my room (92219), it was impeccable . Thank you Thank you to Guest Services, all very approachable & attentive. Thank you. Carol Travers-Orton

  An Extraordinary Solo Stay at Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda I traveled solo for leisure to Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda in Punta Cana, and my stay was a beautiful, relaxing, and truly memorable experience. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed by the friendly atmosphere, attentive staff, and well-maintained surroundings. The resort is conveniently located approximately 30 minutes from Punta Cana International Airport. It is also close to popular attractions and activities, including Coco Bongo, restaurants, downtown Punta Cana, and a variety of excursions. The resort’s location made it easy to enjoy both the property and everything the surrounding area has to offer. Room and Comfort My room was exceptionally clean, with five-star housekeeping standards. The bed was comfortable, and the room was centrally located near the resort’s services and amenities. This made it convenient to reach the restaurants, pools, entertainment, sports bar, coffee shop, and other facilities. The resort and its common areas were consistently clean, organized, and well maintained. I also appreciated the peaceful and comfortable atmosphere, which allowed me to relax and enjoy my vacation at my own pace. Service and Amenities The pools and shared areas were clean and always well kept. The buffet provided a good variety of food, and the entire team—from the kitchen and serving staff to the cleaning staff and hostess—worked hard to maintain a welcoming dining environment. The Entertainment team helped create a fun and lively atmosphere, which was especially enjoyable as a solo traveler. I would like to recognize King Kong and the entire Entertainment team for their energy, friendliness, and dedication to making guests feel included. I also want to give special thanks to Alberto, Tania, Abesaid, Edwin, Andres, and Elena for their attentive service. My appreciation also goes to Yulis and all the reception staff for their professionalism, helpfulness, and excellent customer service. At the buffet, thank you to Miguel, Jose, and everyone from the kitchen, cleaning, serving, and hostess teams. Your hard work contributed greatly to my positive dining experience. I am also grateful to Marie, Manuel, Lucia, and the entire Butler and Housekeeping team, as well as everyone I personally had the opportunity to thank during my stay. Your care and attention were sincerely appreciated. At the Sports Bar and Coffee Shop, Rosa, Claudia, Viena, Roberto, Yakaris, Victor, Juan, Carlos, and the entire team were friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Their excellent service made these areas enjoyable places to relax and spend time. To make this vacation even more unforgettable, I had the incredible opportunity to attend a spectacular concert at Bahia Principe featuring the legendary Mexican singer Alejandro Fernández. He delivered an extraordinary performance filled with passion, energy, and unforgettable music. It was truly the perfect highlight to an already amazing stay and made my experience at Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda even more special. Overall Impression As a solo leisure traveler, I felt comfortable, welcomed, and well cared for throughout my stay. My experience was overwhelmingly positive, and the dedication of the staff was one of the highlights of my vacation. Every guest may have different personal preferences, but I found Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda to be clean, convenient, organized, and filled with thoughtful service. I left with wonderful memories and genuine appreciation for everyone who helped make my stay special. Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda was an extraordinary choice for my Punta Cana getaway. I would gladly return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful, relaxing, and enjoyable Caribbean vacation.

  Bad memories

  I am leaving this hotel extremely disappointed and angry. What should have been a relaxing vacation ended with one problem after another, and the final experience today was completely unacceptable. When we arrived, I was told that the section where we were originally supposed to stay was extremely busy because of an event/concert. I ended up paying approximately US$350 extra to be moved to the Esmeralda section. Paying hundreds of dollars more at the beginning of the trip was frustrating enough, but what happened afterward made it even worse. During my stay, I also injured my big toe beside the pool, with the skin badly scraped off. A resort of this size and price should take the safety and maintenance of its pool areas seriously. Another thing that really bothered me was that they took about an hour of our vacation trying to convince us to sign up for a membership/vacation program, explaining how we could pay regularly and receive VIP benefits and discounted future stays. After everything that happened during this trip, I am honestly glad I did not sign any contract. Why would I trust a company with future vacations when they cannot properly manage the basic arrangements for the trip I already paid for? The worst part happened on the day of departure. I personally spoke with them yesterday and was told to be in the lobby at 11:20 AM for our airport transfer. I arrived in the lobby EARLIER than the scheduled time. Nobody came to pick us up. After waiting and trying to figure out what was happening, instead of solving the problem, I was simply told to take a taxi so that we would not be late for our flight. Now I have to pay approximately $45 for a taxi to the airport because the arranged transfer failed to show up. This is absolutely unacceptable. I followed the instructions. I confirmed the time the day before. I was in the lobby before 11:20. Yet somehow I am the one who has to pay extra and deal with the stress of possibly missing my flight. After already paying around US$350 extra at check-in, dealing with an injury by the pool, being pressured to sit through a long membership sales presentation, having disappointing restaurant experiences — including an absolutely terrible dinner on our last night — and then being abandoned without our scheduled airport transfer, I am leaving this resort feeling completely let down. A hotel can have beautiful grounds, pools and facilities, but those things mean very little when the organization and guest service fail at the moments that actually matter. This was not the ending I expected after paying so much for this vacation. Instead of leaving relaxed, I am leaving angry, stressed, injured, and paying even more money just to get to the airport. Based on my experience, I would not trust this resort with another vacation, and I certainly would not commit to any membership program with them.
