Service and age issues
We came as a family group so I am sharing our family experiences. Very large and crowded older resort. If you are from Toronto you will feel at home otherwise it may feel over crowded. No beach towels until the 3rd day. Coffee served in water glasses multiple times at the buffet. Lack of clean plates glasses and cups at buffets in general. Door lock issues. They came quickly to fix it as it was 10 at night but couldn't speak English. Tried to use the translator app on my phone to communicate with them but the wifi is so poor in my room it wouldn't work. Good wifi available as an upgrade. Mold in our shower. Balcony light never worked. 3 days of calling the front desk to get hand soap in the bathroom. A family member had an allergic reaction. The staff refused to call 911 until the resort doctor arrived. He called 911 immediately and corrected the staff but our relative could have died. He spent the night in hospital. Visually the resort looks well maintained for its age. We are 4 days into our week stay.

Great vacation spot.
The food was very good. The rooms were nice and large. The pools & Ocean were to busy to get a lounge chair if you were not there very early morning. The staff were friendly and helpful. Out of the resort was not so nice, the roads were lined with lots of garbage. Be careful in booking excursions, use resort known groups & get the full itinerary beforehand.

Extremely Disappointed — Loyalty Program Eliminated Without Honoring Points
I have been a loyal Bahia Principe guest for over a decade, returning year after year because I was repeatedly told that my loyalty points would save me money on future stays. I trusted that promise and chose this hotel over countless other options in Mexico. Now, with the transition to World of Hyatt, I’ve been informed that all of my hard earned points are simply gone. No grandfathering, no transfer, no compensation. This is not how reputable companies treat long time customers. It’s incredibly disappointing to see a brand I supported for so many years disregard loyalty in this way. I hope the company reconsiders this decision, because right now it feels like a complete betrayal of the trust they built with their guests.
- AdvisorySome areas of the resort will undergo improvements. The Bouganvillia Lobby, its bar, the nearby pool, and three restaurants will be temporarily relocated. Services will continue at the Nacar Lobby and other designated restaurants and pools across the resort. Entertainment will take place at the Nacar terrace and Bahia Principe Village. All essential services remain available to guests.
