This is a beautiful resort. I was very wary with some of the bad reviews for mosquitos and other complaints. However, it is great. All of the staff are friendly, the rooms are clean, the drinks are exceptional, the food is good (it is a learning curve expected in a foreign country). The ocean does have seaweed, but the staff is constantly raking in the morning. The noise level is acceptable, kind of fun actually. The only complaint I have is the guests are getting ruder by the minute. This is not the resort's fault, patience is non-existent anymore. The people mover carts are excellent (beep beep IYKYK). My husband has a bad knee and they were life savers for him.

New Grand Babia Principe Punta Cana 2026
We had a wonderful trip from January 12 to 19, 2026 at the Grand Bahia Principe Punta Cana. We were very surprised by the results of the renovations at this resort. The lobby reception area is very convenient and easy to use, and the new main bar is very large and beautiful! The new buffet is much better organized than the old one and very clean. Overall, the staff are very friendly, kind, helpful, and attentive. Room: We were lucky enough to have the 1204 double suite with a sea view, near the large pool by the sea. It was a superb, beautiful room in a great location. A big thank you to our maid (Anduilene) who did a great job! Restaurants: We tried the two new à la carte restaurants at GBP Punta Cana. The first is NOMAD (Mongolian style) with a great atmosphere, fresh food, and impeccable service. The second is FLAME (steakhouse style) with very good service. The New York Strip is super good and worth trying! We attended several shows in the evening on the terrace. Good shows and a festive atmosphere! Overall, the new Bahia Principe Punta Cana was very satisfying. We will definitely be back soon! A very special thank you to (Mr. Alberto Figueroa Ceballos), who made sure everything was truly perfect!

Fantastic Hotel!
Hotel is fantastic!!! Staff are great - just give a few tips! Mozzys are bad but just keep topped up and rooms higher up are better than ground floor less mozzys! Restaurants were great the Indian and steakhouse was our faves! Trip to Catalina Island was fantastic! Booked through the staff round the bottom pool near the beach! Drinks were great and the staff up in the lobby bar were fab always making my son special mocktails! The hotel is stunning and this was a great trip! Would recommend going to the souvenir shop offsite - they provide a bus for this for goodies as on site shops are expensive!

Jan 19, 2026Bahia Principe Poor Customer Service and Delivery
Have been a Privilege Club member for over 10 years having visited resorts in Dominican Republic, Mexico and Spain. Recent trip, did not felt welcome, they did not have our room and we had to move the next day although they had our request for over a month and was confirmed. The front desk woman shouted at us, was rude. No welcome banner on the door, no fruit basket, hair on the washroom floor and shower controls that do not work. i guess after all these years, have run the course. Look forward to our Norwegian cruise in May. I believe Bahia Principe Privilege Club just lost a member!

Hotel shocking
This hotel is shocking Checking in is a joke, staff disorganised/large queues. You ask them a question & they have not got a clue. Appalling service. Hotel - not 5 star/ rooms shocking (junior suites) mouldy, dirty, mosquito ridden. Moved rooms 3 times to finally got what we paid for Buffet Restaurant - food cold/ staff rude & lazy Food truck - shocking, food wrong/cold & was filthy dirty/ staff arguing whilst people are waiting & rude to customers/ floors being cleaned with a dirty mop Mongolian restaurant - high recommended Bar service - very slow/ all staff to busy talking to each other than serving customers/ same in the restaurant. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS Absolutely disappointed, this is not a 5 Star hotel
