DO NOT STAY HERE
DO NOT STAY HERE - My extended family of 12 stayed here for a week. As an avid Mexico vacation family, this is the worst resort we have ever stayed at. The workers were always on their phones and one worker even yelled at my mother. Our rooms were dirty, with mold in the bathrooms. For lunch, only the buffet or snack truck were open. The snack truck was out of almost ever options by 2 o'clock each day. For the food you did get at the "truck", the portions and quality were terrible (photos attached). In addition, animals ran around the whole resort getting in the trash and stringing it around the resort (workers would just pass it without concern for picking it up). Animals also ran around inside the restaurants (so unsanitary). Our family was so excited for this trip and we were thoroughly disappointed, we will not be back.

SCARED AND STARVED!
The property is infested with rodents. They have a rodent problem. The other resorts by Bahía does not. They are on the walls in the buffet, all on the snack bar. You can’t get up from your chair without the raccoons and other rodents trying to eat your food. It’s disgusting. The resort isn’t well lit so again be careful of the rodents. They don’t have room service. You have to walk in the dark 2am 10 minutes to a snack bar. The shuttles are no where to be found. I called the front desk they told me to wait outside - I might see one but drivers are limited. The food is disgusting. You can only try 1-2 restaurants in the resort and most restaurants are booked! If I could get my money back I would. This is a 3 star resort. The other resorts like Akumal and Sian Kian are 4 stars. I hate this resort and I couldn’t wait to come home so that I can eat! This place sucked!!!!!!

Another Amazing Trip
We spent 12 glorious days here at Grand Bahia Tulum. It is like our home away from home. Restaurants were all fabulous. Our favorites being Kalok, Ku ku, Le Gourmet and of course Don Pablo. I would like to give a shout out to Edwin, Soledad, Airam and Saul from the buffett. Also, Mr G. from Don Palbo (we always have a great time with him) We really love it here and can't wait to return.

Poor customer service from the office
I've been to this hotel 8 times in 2.5 years, you would think I would be treated with a bit of respect, this hotel is great, until you have an issue! I confirmed my transfers 3 times, but they're claiming I didn't input times, so cancelled , but didn't tell me, and I ended up having to pay £200 for a taxi as I was left stranded at the airport after a 10 hour flight! I've tried to raise this with them, I have screenshots showing the system stated my details had been entered correctly, along with the 3 corresponding emails that confirmed my details, but it appears their system had an error and didn't document the times i put in, so they're blaming me! I won't visit again unfortunately, this is sad as I really like the hotel and the staff, Fernando on reception is amazing, a true credit to the business, so lovely to see him progress from an entertainer to reception where he truly flourishes! If only the rest of customer service was so good!

INCREDIBLE staff ...and sub par facilities
My husband, small children ( 2 and 4), and I just returned from our 3rd year visiting Bahia Principe Grand Tulum. The first two years the resort was exceptional. The food, the entertainment, the facilities, and above all else the staff. Every single year the servers at the buffet and bartenders have been a large part of what makes our vacation so relaxing and special. Emilia, Francisco, and Lidia at the buffet are absolute gems. They not only do a phenomenal job refilling beverages and remembering guest preferences day up day, but they are loving and go above and beyond with the children. Jorge at the Truck is also a treasure. He not only smiled and joked with my children, but he also proactively brought numerous napkins and ketchup refills so my husband and I could actually eat lunch. These staff members are amazing, hardworking, and don't get nearly enough recognition! For parents traveling with small children the staff alone is a good reason to visit this hotel. Now to the negative ( and I am so sad to have to write a negative this year!). In years past there has been a self-serve cerveza, water, And juice bar next to the children's pools. Following that it's about a 5-minute walk to the truck to go to their beverage station with the full bar. That self-serve station was vital because as a parent with young children there's no way to leave your children alone in the pool while you grab the beverage. Sadly, this year the self-serve station was not working. Which meant that either my husband or myself had to watch both children in the pool or we had to pack up the kids just to quickly walk over and get something to drink. For a five-star resort. This was quite the negative. It's a small thing, but it really impacted the quality and relaxation of our trip. Definitely something for parents with young kids to consider. Additionally, the Burger bar wasn't open which means that if you wanted a quick lunchtime snack option you could only go to the truck and that had long lines. Finally, we saw several snakes on tht property. We had never seen them in the past, and , I understand that this is the tropics and It's the snake's home first, as a parent that was still terrifying. Sadly, this may be a deal-breaker for us returning for a fourth visit.
