Winter Break
I stayed here for a week at the end of January. Originally had a standard room booked, however, we upgraded to a swim up room for £450 for the week, which was about half of what TUI were looking for. Check in is easy and made better with a glass of sparkling wine! The room was in building 51, so ideal for the main lobby. Very clean inside and the air con / ceiling fan worked well. The pool for the swim up was very cold, however, the weather when we visited wasn`t the best and I think that was probably the reason as the main pools / sea were also cold. Buffet was as good as ever, and special shout out to Manuel, who always provided a brilliant service at breakfast / lunch. Brilliant service around the pools / beach and we were always offered a drink which was brought directly to us. The trolley service around the resort is excellent and on several occasions we were offered a lift, even when not at one of the designated stopping points. Entertainment around the pools looked good and special mention to the Mariachi band who were watched twice and were brilliant on both occasions. All in all, I cant wait to return!

Not quite luxury - no peace but lovely staff
Currently staying here for another four days. The resort itself is nice, but unfortunately it hasn’t been very relaxing. We booked a swim-up suite, which is located directly along the main path to the lobby, dining areas, and evening entertainment. Traveling with two children, we’ve found it difficult to sleep due to frequent nighttime noise—both from upstairs guests (loud doors, furniture moving, and drunken behaviour) and from people passing by our room late into the night. Pool rules state to be out by 9pm and respect neighbours’ peace but without enforcement I struggled to get my four year old to bed when a group of neighbouring guests were having a night pool party and refused to get out, swore at me and told me not to bring kids and that it wasn’t their problem. Furniture also has no pads so you can hear chairs being dragged across the floor by neighbours and the walls are very thin. On our first evening, we had a reservation at the Japanese restaurant for a group of seven. Despite the restaurant being far from full and there being ample space, we were seated about 30 minutes late because staff initially refused to bring an extra chair to a table for six. This required involvement from multiple staff members and appeared to escalate to management, which felt unnecessary given the circumstances. Another evening, we ordered room service. The menu options were fairly basic for a five-star resort, and the food took close to an hour to arrive. A card instructed us to call the concierge when ready for dish pickup, which I planned to do in the morning. However, shortly after my four-year-old had finally fallen asleep, there was loud knocking at our door to collect the dishes, waking her and making it difficult to resettle her. The room itself is quite small, and housekeeping has not been consistent on a daily basis. The buffet area is chaotic at peak times, and the constant loud beeping from equipment every few minutes is surprisingly jarring. That said, there are several positives worth noting. The staff are genuinely pleasant and kind throughout the resort. The food is good overall, and the à la carte restaurants are excellent. The kids’ club deserves special mention—the staff are wonderful, very caring, and offer lots of engaging activities. The landscaping is beautiful, and the internet has been strong and reliable. One thing to be aware of: the on-site shop is extremely expensive (for example, $60 USD for diaper cream), which is difficult when you’re in a pinch and don’t have easy alternatives. Overall, this resort has many strengths, especially in service and food quality, but families with young children or anyone seeking a quiet, relaxing stay may want to carefully consider room location and noise levels.

Years of Loyalty Thrown Away — Unacceptable
I’ve been visiting Bahia Principe since 2014, always choosing them because I was promised that loyalty points would pay off over time. I stayed loyal, ignored other hotel promotions, and kept coming back. Now the hotel has switched to World of Hyatt and decided that all those years of points mean nothing. No transfer, no recognition, nothing. It feels like they took advantage of loyal customers and walked away from their own promises. This is not how you treat people who supported your business for over a decade. I’m extremely disappointed and will be rethinking any future stays unless this is resolved.

Not all is what you think.
The resort was clean and well maintained. The bars were you typical tropical resort bars. Food was you typical resort food. Good and plenty of variety. This is listed as an "5 star All Inclusive". For the most part yes but there were plenty of hidden costs if you wanted better. This free entertainment is hard to locate. Only the extra pay ones are easy to find. The a la carte restaurants charge extra for bar drinks. Only house wine and beer are free. It is almost next to impossible to book a restaurants without jumping through hoops a the front desk or writing nasty notes by email. And the they did run out of booze at the Sian Ka'an. The only beach that you can actually swim in is located at Tulum. The other resorts beaches are terrible. Not good for snorkeling. I would think twice about paying this kind of money to return to this resort.

Worst resort in all of Cancun
Terrible food and drinks. No Ala cart dinners available. No service at the pools. No nightly entertainment for adults. Drinks did not taste good and buffets had cold food. The worst place ever to stay.
