An Honest Review
Highly advise to go somewhere else for health and hygienic reasons. The resort has no running cold water every morning into the afternoon sometimes in guest rooms and public areas like bathrooms and pool side showers. One can imagine how well the staff and vacationers are able to clean their hands and dishes at the resturants/bars when there is no running water. No running water doesn't mean low pressure, it means zero drips of water coming from the faucet, shower, and toilet. There is scalding hot water, but that doesn't help with the ability to shower, wash hands or flush the toilet. People are up before 5am to reserve beach chairs, saw people reading in the dark with a flash light 😳 Food at the beach restaurant and main buffet is often undercooked. Even the cook to order fish is raw and icy in the middle. Maintenance staff are great and very hard working, while service staff are not rude but certainly unwelcoming. Maintenance staff are happy to help at all times with no expectation for additional compensation. Service staff would barely do the job. You need to wave tips in front of them first to get their attention. Tipping after service will guarantee bad service. Maintenance staff deserve the tips, not service staff. The environment is nice but that's because of the island - not the hotel. Highly advise looking at other options along the beach. Smaller resorts may be better than large chains like Bahia and Riu.

5star LUXURY AMBER EXPERIENCE
I posted this review on the basis pricipe amber group and as yet not been published so here goes…we are on the 1st week of our 2 week holiday..on arrival allocated room on top floor, even though we are both in our seventies, no problem good exercise, but not so good when you are up and down on a regular basis trying to sort key fobs out that suddenly decide to stop working…but never mind we are at 5 star LUXURY AMBER… my husband was ill with sickness and the runs, oh no toilets are broken, can’t you imagine for most of the night and the following day filling waste paper bins with water to flush the toilet..was reported continuously but decided to come to repair at 7pm..not acceptable But did I mention we are at 5 starLUXURY AMBER. Plugged hairdryer in bathroom, the full wall socket came off, same also happened in the lounge area..when electricion came to repair the air conditioning unit fell down from the ceiling…oh did I mention this is 5 star LUXURY AMBER. I also got ill, guess what. Yes. The toilet broke again, me feeling so bad having to fill up bins to flush toilets…the list goes on…we are here for another week so watch this space..oh did I mention we are at 5star LUXURY AMBER…SORRY FOR NEGATIVE REVIEWS BUT ENOUGH IS ENOUGH…oh forgot to mention my husband nearly getting scalded in shower….no cold water!!!,

Ambar, the place to be lazy
What an exceptional experience of friendly staff and nice visitors from many countries. The rooms are great and very clean and spacious. The food was great and you can always find something for your palate. What a great place to be lazy and whether it is poolside or seaside, you will be extremely satisfied by the staff bringing you drinks and the accessibility of food is everywhere.

Do t come to Bahai Principe Amber luxury in Punta Cana
We came in as privilege club members. Zero service, attitude, always a no and a most unhelpful attitude. We went to the Japanese Restuarant Maiko. The chair have way as it was broken. The hotel didn’t care although I had pain due to the fall next day. I asked for a message. The manager told me to pay for it. Don’t come here. They are expensive, bad service and bad attitude. You can get better service for a lessor price somewhere else.

Amazing Resort
An absolutely great stay at a huge resort. We stayed at the adults only - luxury Ambar and we loved it. The staff were a highlight with the vast majority of them being helpful and in a great mood despite seeming to work long hours and long shift patterns. The pool bar guys were always having a laugh and quick to pour drinks. Highlight of the trip had to be limbo cocktail bar, the guys there were knowledgeable and wouldn’t be out of place working in cocktail bars in some of the local upmarket bars close to us. Also the food on offer was top notch in the majority of restaurants, our highlights being Naan - Indian located in Esmeralda, Yurta - Mongolian again in Esmeralda and The Greek. Portofino was also a good meal with probably the biggest portions on offer (especially with the pizzas). Have to say even the buffet was a good meal, especially if you ordered the fresh meat off the hot plates it always tasted fresh. Have to give a special mention to the entertainment team, constantly upbeat and having a good time and allowing you to feel involved without being pushy with making you join in with things, couldn’t believe the amount of effort that was put into always having things on - again while working long hours and lots of days in a row. And the staff constantly working on the grounds to keep the place immaculate. Also if you love cats you’ll love this section of the resort as there’s a good ten or so (including kittens) so make sure to take treats if you want some attention. Have to say there was a couple of negatives (that really didn’t affect us and didn’t make the holiday any less enjoyable) - the room we had has obviously had some touch ups done as a quick fix and were noticeable if you really looked and I just couldn’t unsee them. Also the shower in the morning had absolutely no cold water - don’t know if it was being used elsewhere at that time for sprinklers etc but as the trip went on it did become annoying. Also at peak time of getting ready the shower pressure didn’t allow to come out the rainfall aspect so had to hold the smaller shower head to wash ourselves - again a bit annoying as the trip went on. Last bit I’ll say is that a couple of restaurants were really bad - Mexican and Mediterranean restaurants both had food that was not nice at all - felt as though it was made hours before and sat on a hot plate, also at the Mexican the service was terrible - took over half an hour to get an order from us. With regards to the service at restaurants - nearer the end of the trip they all seemed slow with meals taking between 1.5 - 2.5 hours where drinks wouldn’t have even been served within half an hour (majority only being two courses) however the resort did feel a lot busier so can understand, but other people in the hotel were also commenting on this so I hope the feedback helps to smooth things along. Even with the paragraph above we had a holiday from a lifetime and would come back 100%, from the beach to the casino everything was well thought out and some of the decor was amazing in a lot of the social areas and would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great stay.
