  Place is dated, rooms, bathrooms. Cleanness in general is not good. Walls and furniture being painted again and again. Pictures in internet are photoshopped, nothing to do with the reality. Noise from top floor was terrible and complaining didn’t works .

  Hotel with a lot of potential but not much else

  The Barceló Bávaro Beach is a beautiful property with a lot of potential. The grounds are gorgeous, the location is fantastic, and there is clearly a lot that could make this a great resort experience. Unfortunately, the service and dining experience really took away from what should have been an enjoyable stay. The majority of the staff we encountered were rude, unfriendly, or simply seemed uninterested in providing good customer service. “Guest service” was honestly a laugh. Getting help or having a simple request handled felt like a chore rather than something the staff actually wanted to assist with. The restaurants were, for the most part, extremely disappointing. One major exception was Chez Gourmand, which was actually a wonderful experience. The food was good, and our server, José Luis de Jesús, was an absolute doll—friendly, attentive, professional, and genuinely service-oriented. He was exactly the kind of employee you expect at a resort of this caliber. Unfortunately, the resort relies heavily on guests using the facilities at Barceló Bávaro Palace, and our experience there was even worse. The staff seemed even ruder, and the restaurant experiences were largely disappointing as well. One particularly frustrating experience involved Guest Services making us a reservation at Santa Fe, only for us to arrive and discover that the restaurant was closed. We were then moved to La Dolce Vita, where we had some of the worst food of the trip. To make matters worse, the wine we were served was spoiled. It is frustrating because the resort itself is beautiful and has so much potential. With better-trained, more welcoming staff, significantly improved guest services, and better-quality food and restaurant management, this could be an excellent resort. Unfortunately, a beautiful property can only take you so far when the service and dining experience consistently fall short. For us, the lack of hospitality and the disappointing food overshadowed many of the resort’s positive qualities.

  Beautiful beach

  I keep coming back to the resort for the beach and the friendly people. As with most affordable resorts the food is just okay, entertainment okay, rooms somewhat dated. But the sandy beach? Beautiful even with sargasm season the staff did morning and evening cleanup to ensure a great beach experience.

  Not 5 star

  Beautiful grounds and staff is VERY friendly. Attentiveness needs a tiny bit of work. I wish I could give it 5 stars because of the staff. However, day 1) I unpacked by tops opened the drawer to put my tops away and found a roach(see attached photo). In the closet there was an ironing board but no iron. Day 2)The toilet would not flush(see attached photo). Tried to attach the original video but was unsuccessful. The lights were like a circuit breaker, I turned one light off and it even shut off the TV. There was leaking between the shower and toilet which is a slip/fall hazard. In the morning the water is Cold, No warm water to shower with. There are basket ball courts and tennis courts but NO basket ball. when I was given "fresh" towels, there was brown staining(see attached photo). We booked through Travelocity, so buyer beware because it's rated 5 star on Travelocity. I brought all this to the hotel manager, Alexandra Vargas attention and unfortunately little was done. No discount could be offered because we booked through Travelocity. They paid for one of our excursions but considering the amount paid for a 5 star all inclusive resort.....I'd say it fell VERY short of that expectation. Too bad because again bat tenders, front desk and buffet staff were great.
