Great location, really pleasant and clean rooms. Great night shows Staff very attentive I would recommend to friends and family. Great view.

Sep 25, 2025A Pleasant Stay - Would Return
My family stayed at the Barcelo Huatulco March 2025 for 8 nights. Traveled with my husband and kids (aged 5 & 7), parents and mother in law. This place is wonderful. It’s smaller than other places we have been to (which we knew when booking) but it has everything you could want and great service. Upon check-in, we were quickly greeted and our luggage looked after. There was no line at check in and the receptionist worked hard to get our family in rooms all right beside together. The resort was explained and we were in our rooms in no time. The rooms are just what you need. We did not do premium and I don’t think we missed on anything. Plug-ins were in handy spots (near room mirror and many beside bedside table). Had a long counter with 3 drawers and separate cupboard and a table with 2 chairs. We had a large closet and shelving. Our mini bar was stocked daily (pops, water, beer, chips and peanuts) and had no issues with supply of bottles of water. Bathroom had many toiletries provided (only one it didn’t have was conditioner), make up mirror, hairblower, shower and optional wand. I would have liked to have a lower shelf under the sink to store things on and getting facecloths was hit and miss; but was minor. Patio had 2 chairs, table and drying rack. Bed was comfy and lots of pillows. Room cleaned daily and towels changed. At one point our toilet was making noise and when we requested service they guy was there within the hour and it was fixed. Very impressed. The grounds are beautiful and clean. I wasn’t sure if they kids area would be enough for our kids but they loved it. Pool was warm and well maintained. I wish the family pool had any option for some shade while swimming (regretted not having a swim shirt). We never had issues getting lounge chairs (pool or beach). The entertainment crew was wonderful. Daytime music around the pool and activities throughout the day. A big shout out to Alex with the kids club. She knew our kids by name and always said hi around the resort and made them feel welcome (also knew our family and would ask about the kids). Drink service was fantastic. There was always workers walking around taking orders and the pool bar service was the quickest I’ve ever had. One suggestion would be some sort of mat to stand on for ordering drinks on the outside bar service station (would get very hot on the feet but a mat or some sort of shade for the area would make a big difference without having to go into the restaurant and drip water). Every morning my kid loved playing mini golf. The area is beautiful and well shaded; better than expected. Nice seeing the birds and iguanas in the trees there as well. (Would be nice if the resort purchased a few more golf clubs). Beach was beautiful. A bit steeper near the pool side, but flattens out down by the lounge chair area. I have no idea why people suggest needing water shoes and I never felt a rock when out swimming. Some days the waves were rougher than others (as per normal) but never had issues floating once past the first 10 feet of crashing waves. Kids loved the fish a short walk at the end of the beach by the other resort. Sand was amazing and washing stations when you get back to the resort. Food was great too. Breakfast was fairly consistent with what is served but was very impressed and couldn’t ask for more. ( Always had sausages, bacon, mimosas, etc). Lunch was great and food was good. Varied day to day (never had pizza on the resort which I was surprised about). Each evening had a different theme. Some were more to my liking than others but we always found something we liked and variety was more than I was expecting. The biggest table they have is for 4 people so made our party of 7 a bit tricky. We often could sit at tables close to each other, but sometimes were split up which wasn’t ideal. Service was decent. Games room was nice. Would be nice if the lobby had seating/tables that could accommodate playing games (instead of hunching over knee height table), but they had nice music. Each night had a performance in the indoor, air-conditioned theatre. We were always welcomed with a drink at the door (or bar service if preferred). Dancers worked tirelessly and always had a good show. I would have liked if there was a bit more English content (as I find at most places) but we could follow along. One night before the show there was a kids event. This was awesome, but I wish it was more than once a week. I would not recommend using the tour salesman at the beach. Had a bad experience. Use the ones inside the resort. Overall this was a great little resort that really tried to serve its guests. We would be happy to return.

Nice getaway holiday with family
I really enjoyed our family stay at Barceló. My kids enjoyed the beach and kids pool. Ice team by the pool was the best for them. For wife and I the swim up bar

My stay
I think it wasn't your fault,but Expedia shows you with a Adult only area, it's really just the pool,dont get me wrong,just was expecting to be an a more quiet area, I read the hotels restrictions and i follow them, but still see that 90% or more doesn't respect the pool bed reservation, also lots of people hanging clothes in the balcony, I wonder if you fine them..overall nice hotel, I got what i paid for,but defenetly for next time i will take my grandchildren with me

Ocean water was too crazy, couldn’t get in. Bed’s are too hard. Have to pay for room service. They don’t let you take any food out of buffets. Weird dress code. Xpert tour company on premises is terrible. People are very nice and place is clean. However I would not go back.
