Jan 14, 2026Be careful about the broken tiles around the family pool
My daughter was involved in an accident caused by poor pool maintenance; she cut her fingers on broken tiles near the fountain by the family pool. Despite the hotel being crowded, there was no lifeguard or security personnel available to help, and no assistance was provided for transportation to the hospital. No one on the staff seemed to care.

Worst Resort Experience in Mexico — Will Never Stay at Barceló Again
This was one of the worst places we’ve stayed in Mexico. We did make a mistake with our reservation during a festival, which was 100% our fault, but everything else went downhill from there. Basic amenities like lotion were considered “extra,” even though they’ve been included at every other resort we’ve stayed at. The food was lukewarm at best. When I asked for a glass of milk with dinner, it arrived curdled. The server then told another server that I could “get it myself,” which was both unprofessional and unacceptable—I didn’t know that was an option, and I certainly expect cold milk when I order it. At the gift shop, I accidentally broke a small, removable part of an item. I was required to pay for it, which I accepted, but then they refused to package it. If I’m paying for a broken item, it should at least be packaged properly. We’ve been to Mexico over 12 times, and this was by far our worst experience. We will never stay at a Barceló again.

Everything was very good. The only thing is when you get into the water at the beach, there is a stretch of about 20-30 feet of rocks and shells which makes it very difficult to walk in. I highly recommend bringing water shoes.

Biani was very fun to do the activity with and she was very nice. She knew the rules well. She made jokes and entered are too.

A must go!
I love this place! So peaceful. Laid-back slow going if you looking for it. If not there is something going on every night that you can participate in. Food is great and the drinks are never-ending.
