Very good resort offering plenty to do for the entire family. Restaurants were great. You do need they emphasize the premium package alot though so it can be kind of weird when everyone asks to see what bracelet you have. Kind of judgy from that aspect. Selene in the Maya Beach Buffet was the best server I've ever experienced at any resort I've been to. She was incredible where her service, her knowledge of the activities going on around the resort, and her overall demeanor was excellent. The lady in the beach shop was very cold and not very talkative. Seemed like we were annoying her with out presence buying sunglasses for us and our children. Also took at 15 minute phone call while we were waiting at the cash register. The air conditioning wasn't working so it was an extremely uncomfortable experience.

Barcelo Maya Beach, Riviera Maya
For the fifth time, we are staying at Barceló Maya Beach, and every time we have the feeling that we have arrived in paradise once again! The resort is surrounded by a tropical garden of extraordinary beauty, where not only the plants but also the birds and little animals seem to thrive. It is such a pleasure to watch them! And, of course, a special thank you to all the friendly, kind, and attentive staff. Thanks to you, every one of our stays becomes truly special. We come here, to the sea, to escape from the noisy city of Toronto, where throughout the year we become endlessly tired of the constant sound of emergency sirens, police cars, pizza delivery vehicles, construction noise, leaf blowers, and so much more. We come here to enjoy the sounds of nature and the sea. But, unfortunately, to our great disappointment, this is not easy at all. As soon as the sun rises, music starts playing throughout the resort, beginning at the Captain Morgan bar. Soon, every bar, every corner, and seemingly every seashell is blasting its own very loud music, drowning everything else out. The result is a terrible cacophony, especially considering that what passes for modern music seems to consist of 90% drums. And this continues throughout the entire long day, until darkness. Even after 10 p.m., the music continues to “finish off” the guests — both in the buffet and outdoors. After a few days, you get the feeling that someone has been relentlessly driving screws into your head all day long, non-stop. The only place where there is no music is underwater, among the fish. In Canadian parks, there are always areas where music is prohibited — radio-free zones. How wonderful it would be to simply hear the birds singing and the sound of the waves! Perhaps, one day, something similar could become possible at Barceló Grand Resort? It would be wonderful to have at least a few radio-free zones throughout the resort — places where guests could truly hear and enjoy nature and the sea. Thank you all so much! Until we meet again in paradise!

First family holiday.
Had an incredible time at Barcelo Maya Beach - our first family holiday with our 7yo and 4yo, we didn't want to leave! Special shout out to Miriam, Sam and Ale at the Beach Barcy Club, who made our children's experience extra special with fun activities and entertainment. Our daughter enjoyed herself so much she begged to go back the next day! A very special place with amazing staff, we're already planning a return visit. Thank you Barcelo, thank you Mexico!
