Over all it was a great experience good customer service and the rooms are very clean we had a good experience definitely coming back next year

Overall great experience
We went with two families, the hotel was very accommodating and kept our rooms close together. The resort is huge and beautiful. The staff is amazing and the beaches were kept as clean as possible with all the seaweed at this time of year (September). We will return, in the future. Overall a great experience for all of us.

Maya Caribe - it’s all about great customer service
The Maya Caribe is one of our favorites. We thought we booked two rooms Premium Level swim up. Jaqueline in Premium check-in was gracious when pointing out our error, and with her supervisor Michelle ensured we got the rooms we were expecting. Was actually surprised how good the views were from the upper level Jr Suite. The Premium rooms are all renovated, very comfortable and worth the upgrade.The staff are always great, Emilia and Yordi at the pool bar, Estella and Maria in the buffet. Kitchen staff were accommodating with dietary restrictions, housekeeping all super sweet to make our stay more comfortable and easy! So many activities or do nothing, your choice! If you have a question or are unhappy with anything they really do go out of their way to make it right - don’t wait, just ask.

Disappointed with Customer Service
I have always loved this hotel for its beautiful beach, but unfortunately, the service in most of the buffets, restaurants, and bars was very disappointing. The staff showed little professionalism or interest in their work. Many times we had to get our own drinks because they wouldn’t even bring water to the table. Every time we went to eat, we felt like we were bothering them, which is not what you expect from a resort of this level. At one point, we stopped tipping because there was no effort or interest in serving guests. One situation that stood out was when I asked a waiter to please clear some plates, and his response was, “What else?”—which felt extremely unprofessional. Another example was at one of the pool bars, where I tried to order a drink. The waitress was busy telling a story to her coworker and didn’t even bother to ask what I wanted until she finished. This was very unprofessional and made us feel completely ignored. Sadly, these were not isolated incidents; I could share several stories like this. It’s a shame, because the beach is amazing, but the way we were treated was unacceptable for the price we pay. Please, Barcelo, pay more attention to the type of employees you are hiring and how they are trained. Right now, it feels like many of them don’t even want to keep their jobs. For this reason, I will not be coming back.
