Moldy Curtains
I expect more from a luxury hotel. The oceanside room patio curtains were visibly covered in mold. I went to heal a major illness that is irritated by toxins like mold. I only discovered at the end of my stay. There are sheer curtains and then the blackout curtains. The mold is all over the back of the blackout curtains. If that is something that needs to be replaced seasonally then so be it. That is their cost of doing business. I expect better attention paid for $500 a night. I haven't felt well since returning and am monitoring labs to treat lymphoma. I can never return to this hotel. I have pictures of the curtains but there is no upload button for negative reviews I see. I am happy to provide them if asked. The hotel hasnt responded to me as of yet.

Dont go here.
Bugs all over our bed. Nasty jacuzzi. Towel rack fell apart. Buffet closed early... had to take the resort bus to another location to get food at 8.30pm. Food generally was cold by the time you sat down or so overcooked to begin with. Shower didnt drain well. This has cold convention center vibe. This is not a fun adult resort. Not worth the price. We will not be back.

Really good. Worth every penny
Awesome. Good, big resort with plenty of room to relax. Lots of options and things to do, you do have to reserve things but it does offer a nice relaxing experience

Always a pleasure
I think this is my 8 or 9th visit to the Barcelo. It’s always wonderful. The beach was pristine. The food was amazing. I stayed at the adults only this time. I either stay here or at the Palace. Both are fantastic but at the adults only you get access to every restaurant where the Palace you don’t get the ones at the adults only but you do get all the others. Pool was great. Service and food were amazing. I was sad to see the dolphins are gone but I hear you can still feed bananas to the sea turtles at the Palace beach so that’s great. I didn’t this time tho. I had a great time and I’m sure I’ll be back!
