Feb 03, 2026Spectacular Resort, Incredible Service
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Barcelo Maya Riviera. This resort is incredible - and with access to 5 other resorts, you really have it all. There is so much to see and do - if you want - or you can just hang out on the beach or by the pool. The restaurants are awesome, the food and drinks are delicious, and the service is the best I've had at any resort. So friendly, laid back and welcoming. They even bring fresh towels around in the late afternoon which was such a nice touch when getting cleaned up before dinner. We had such an amazing time, we will 100% go back!

Very nice resort. Very nice to be able to access adjacent resorts. Overall, excellent but could use more cooked to order food choices during the day. And more live music.

It was lovely!
It was beautiful, especially the beach. It was nice having access to all the other resorts. The bed is also super comfortable. And the room is bright.

A very stress free perfect vacation with amazing food
Review for the Barceló maya riviera. The Staff was unbelievable attentive . Everyone was so friendly and work very hard. The buffets were very very clean. Staff cleaning constantly no spilt food or messes ( went to the other resorts and they were a disaster). No issues at all on resort. I have always had some issue at past resorts like no hot water , air conditioner problems, sewer smells, toilets plugged. Not here. Everything perfect. They do have a strict rule no food outside the restaurant. That took some getting used to. I did miss having tacos made pool side, pizza ect. Coffee on the resort is delicious! There isn’t much for entertainment at this resort. The shows at the other resorts were just Ok. Definitely lacking in that department so if that’s something big on your list you may be disappointed. We booked our restaurants after check in and had zero problems getting all 4 AO restaurants booked and a couple at the other resorts. Most of the food was delicious. A couple misses here and there. Never any line ups for drinks, food check in out etc. Just a really stress free relaxed vacation. Room was beautiful and we were upgraded to a swim out. Modern feel to this resort. Not much of a Mexican vibe but I didn’t mind that at all. So many loungers! No one was saving with towels at 7am like I experienced at other resorts. Always open seats everywhere! Went to swim at the palace… the beach was a zoo! We had to lie on the ground. No loungers in site. Grounds are immaculate and they have someone with a trained hawk to scare off scavengers. No animal life here if you are into see that. There isn’t much of a jungle feel or trails on the resort. But if you walk to the other resorts you go though some nice paths. They are all very close. Drinks were delicious, and strong. They make everything! Smokers were very respectful and mostly stayed in the smoking zones .

Wonderful Vacation!
Being able to experience all 6 connected Barcelo properties was a highlight, the food was delicious, the large room was perfectly designed, and it was overall the most relaxing vacation we ever experienced.
