My husband and I had an amazing experience at Barceló Maya Riviera! From the beautiful resort and breathtaking views to the relaxing atmosphere and excellent service, everything made our stay truly special. The resort is absolutely gorgeous, with stunning surroundings, beautiful pools, and plenty of opportunities to relax and enjoy a wonderful vacation. The staff was welcoming and attentive, and the overall atmosphere made it easy to unwind and enjoy every moment. The food, amenities, and cleanliness also added to our experience. Whether you’re looking for a romantic getaway, a relaxing vacation, or simply a beautiful place to escape, Barceló Maya Riviera is definitely worth visiting. We truly enjoyed our time here and made beautiful memories together. We would absolutely recommend this resort to anyone looking for a wonderful vacation experience, and we would love to return in the future! 🌴☀️❤️

Still excellent stay.
Since 2011 we stayed multiple times at Barceló Maya Grand Resort (Caribe, Beach, Palace and 2024 Riviera). Location is very good, close to PDC, public transportation is very convenient and cheap. Grounds are beautiful and great for walking, walk to Barcelo Palace is around 4000 steps one way (Palace has great ambience, buffet with tablecloths covered tables feels very welcoming). Barcelo Riviera has very large, very comfortable rooms that we loved. We had Ocean Front room with wonderful view .Josefina C. cleaned our room and bathroom meticulously. Overall service was very good except our arrival at Front Desk that messed up our stay and left us little uncomfortable. We still rate Barcelo 5* because in many aspects it is better than other resorts in the same category. Food at buffet is good, selection is very good. It seems quality and variety is higher when there is convention in the hotel. But, we always found what we liked, could have quality fish like bass, tuna cooked to our taste. Buffet is also very, very clean and not crowded. I would like to mention Mersi (lady waiter) who always remembered what drinks we liked and always smiled. Thank you Mersi. Our favorite restaurant is La Comedie, food, service just wonderful. Our waiters David and Mario 5*, chef Eduardo Mo also very nice. Overall we had very relaxing stay, we love Barcelo Riviera because of the "not crowded" feel , availability of loungers at pools and beach and access to entire beautiful grounds of Barceló Maya Grand. I am rating Barcelo at 4.5* (front desk and food could be improved).

Sapporo Bar
We have been coming to Barcelo in Riveria Maya for years, and love to stay at the Adults Only location. This trip we met the most incredible bartender, Darwin, who works at the Sapporo restaurant lobby bar. What a gem! His cocktails are ON POINT and his personality is even better! Tonight we had the pleasure of meeting Nathaniel who was working alongside Darwin - what a talented and friendly young man. 10 / 10 stars for those bartenders making our trip special!

Best resort in the Mayan Riviera!
Our favourite resort! Yes the food is good, yes the beach and pools are fun.. yes the rooms are epic and the beds comfy .. yes to all of this. Here is what sets Barceló apart: their people. A special thank you to Estela J. Ramos at the Front Desk. She is the epitome of professional, friendly, and always ready with a smile. She is detail oriented, communicative, a brand ambassador for Barceló and we adore her. If she isn’t being fast tracked to a higher leadership role I would be shocked. At Sapporo, Susana Lopez made every meal amazing. We went back 3 times! Her wonderful personality, attentiveness, and friendly authentic self made us look forward to every visit. Great food is important, but great people make the experience unforgettable. At the Miramar Buffet, Alberto and Mersy K. were absolute stars. They always seemed to know exactly what guests needed before they even asked. Their kindness, laughter and humour , and genuine care brightened every breakfast and lunch (Alberto should be running the team, he is beyond excellent and high energy and fun!) Anna by the pool bar - remembered me from last year and remembered what I drank. Colour me impressed! She made me feel so special!! A huge thank you as well to Jose Hernandez and Alacely at La Comedie. (And thank you for the warm welcome and letting us take the blue chairs on our last night Josefina!) … less like a restaurant visit and more like catching up with old friends. What stood out most about every one of these wonderful people was how genuine they were. They remembered guests, shared laughs, and made everyone feel special. By the end of our trip, we felt less like tourists and more like members of a very welcoming family. To all of you: thank you for the laughs, the kindness, the outstanding service, and for making it so difficult to leave. We can't wait to return and see all those friendly faces again. Five stars simply don't seem like enough. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
