Spent a week here and everything was great. Very clean and well maintained. Good variety of different food. Beach is what it is for the area...got to swim with turtles very cool

Unforgettable weeding anniversary vacation at Barcelo Tropical

Lots of fun!
Visiting for a friend’s 30th birthday. Food has been great, fun vibes, kid friendly too! Leslie Gomez in entertainment in the tropical resort is the best! Fun and helpful!

Perfect place to vacation!
This was our 13th stay here and we still love it!! The beach is beautiful, even when the sargassum 'attacks' they somehow clean it up so quickly, its amazing! The snorkeling isnt quite as good the last few years, I think the sargassum has made the water less clear. But there is still plenty of fish to see - this year we saw an eagle spotted ray, sting rays and of course the turtles and numerous little fish. The food at the buffets is pretty good, and their is always something for everyone. There is always a huge variety of foods. There are a couple of employees that we did want to mention because they are outstanding. Hector Hernandez and Moises Guerra in the Colonial Buffet. They made our meals a delight. Besides quick service, they always had a smile and a nice word to share. They remembered all of our favorite drinks form last year and in addition, a couple time Moises decorated our table with special napkin designs and flower petals. Also at the Palace Buffet Hacienda, Araceli Calderon is great! Quick and friendly, remembers your name and drinks. But if you are a 'foodie' you will like the ala carte restaurants, they never disappoint! The pool at the Tropical is a good time. They always have some kind of activity. Whether it be Bingo or Water Volleyball - the activity staff (We love Pepe!!) make it fun!! If you just want to relax with a drink in hand, Jose Pacab at the swim up bar will quickly make you a delicious cocktail! The oceanfront suite is perfect! Its big, clean, cool and fully loaded - from sodas, beer to chocolate covered strawberries. It is just amazing! Cant wait til next year!!
