We had an absolutely fantastic experience at the Tropical Pool Bar, and a huge part of that was thanks to our amazing barman Jose Pacab He is honestly the best! His friendly personality, warm smile, professionalism and outstanding customer service made every visit special. He always making us feel comfortable and genuinely appreciated. The drinks were fantastic, beautifully prepared and served with great attention to detail. He was always attentive, quick to help and made sure everyone was having a great time. What makes him truly special is his attitude and the passion he puts into his work. He goes above and beyond to make guests happy, creating such a lovely atmosphere around the pool bar. His sense of humour, kindness and excellent service made our holiday even more memorable. Thank you for making our days by the pool so enjoyable. You are an absolute star, and we hope management recognises how valuable you are. We will definitely remember your fantastic service and hope to see you again on our next visit! Excellent in all catergories except damp, musty smelly room on ground floor
The hotel is beautiful. Gardens, beach and pools are super clean and very well maintainted. All the staff is super friendly and helpful. The food at the buffet was excellent. A lot of choice and variety every day. A lot of fun activities are included. The only thing we struggled with was our ground floor room. It was damp, smelled very musty and there were signs of black mould. It was very uncomfortable. By day two I was ill and luckily we were moved to a better ventilated room on a higher floor. The air coming from the air conditioning had a bad mould smell in both rooms and felt like the ducts/filters need cleaning.

Our family’s favorite resort. Been going for over 20 years now
We have been to a few other resorts and always say Barcelo Resorts are our favorite! There are soo many things this resort offers even on rainy days. The grounds are beautiful and service is always fantastic and friendly

Overall it was okay. The pool side no food and day time buffet are a huge miss and will be the reason we will try to find another place next family vacation. Along with the lack of poolside drink service

Major Maintenance and Cleaning Issues I had a very frustrating experience at this property. The rooms are incredibly old, outdated, and poorly maintained. During our stay, the air conditioning was completely broken, making the room uncomfortable. Worse, we discovered a significant amount of mold inside both the bathroom and the bathtub, which is a serious health and cleanliness concern. To make matters worse, when we attempted to upload photos of these conditions to warn future guests, management immediately removed them to protect their reputation. Future customers deserve to know the truth about the lack of upkeep here. I would not recommend staying at this property
