    5 Star Experience

    What an absolutely fabulous hotel. When you stay here you are not a guest, you are a member of their family or a friend. This is our second time staying with these marvellous people. The hotel is set upon the hillside but they offer a regular free shuttle down to the town of Castries or to the beach, running every hour, except for Wednesday and Sunday. The hotel itself is on several levels so there are steps to deal with so bear this in mind if there are mobility issues. We have stayed in both the bungalows and the larger pool view rooms. Both are well equipped with and iron, ironing board, hairdryer, fridge and kettle with tea and coffee. Some rooms have a smart tv others a standard but will be in the process of upgrading these room with a full makeover. The room has an ample shower and wash basin. All have air conditioning. The rooms are kept spotless by the attentive housekeepers on a daily basis. The food is diverse from the Caribbean bbq evening on a Thursday to Indian, French, Italian being served throughout the week. Breakfast consists of the traditional English to fresh fruit and cold meats. There is also Lulu's cabana serving snacks by the upper pool consisting of burger, chips, toastie etc There is entertainment every evening in the Veranda bar ranging from Karaoke, live bands and singers. The bbq evening will have a steel band and fire eaters which we recommend you do not miss. As mentioned before the staff are amazing, so friendly and attentive. We can't praise them highly enough. If you want a quiet relaxing break then the Bel Jou is right for you.

    The Bel Jou. Unforgettable A+++

    We have been to Saint Lucia 3 times now and stayed in another hotel but in Rodney Bay. Thr Bel Jou is not the best location if you want all the modern shops and a vibrant night life. However. If you want a hotel that treat you like valued guests, has amazing food with a great selection at every meal time, gorgeous views from every angle and a very laid back friendly atmosphere. Then this is the place to go. From the moment we entered the hotel to the minute we left, we was treated extremely well. The hotel had upgraded our room when we arrived without us requesting it. However we asked to be downgraded again due to the location of the rooms we originally request as I struggle to climb steps. They immediately swapped our rooms and was very apologetic for which there was no need. The maintenance staff never seem to stop from just painting and renewing areas through to maintaining the grounds to a high level. The cook's were all amazing from Joule who was an awesome chef and a great personality. Through to Christian who supervised a great staff of pastry chef's. The food could not be knocked. All the waiting staff were fantastic with a special shout out to the most welcoming and lovely Princess. Quincy who was one of the staff around the pool was so engaging he helped make the experience a wonderful one. The clientele was also great with everyone mixing and getting along very well. We was lucky enough to make a group of friends that we can say will remain friends and whim we have arranged to meet up with next year and also go away with again. To sum up our experience. I would say this has been our favourite Caribbean holiday by a substantial way. I also have to give a massive shout out to Shane out personal taxi driver for all our Saint Lucia trips.     What an absolute joy!

    We were here as a bit of chill time after visiting Trinidad & Barbados to see some Caribbean Premier cricket. The place was awesome from the start of our short stay. We were greeted like family & the whole place is built with safety in mind. Handrails everywhere on stairs & ease of getting around the place was brilliant for someone who Is mobility impaired. Staff, food, amenities were all exceptional. Thank you Bel Jou - hope to see you again one day.

    Brendan is the best bartender!

    Brendan was the best bartender for my twin and me! He made us feel right at home, and we had such an amazing time. His hospitality was incredible, and we truly appreciated how welcoming and friendly he was. We’ll definitely be coming back to see him again!
